I am happy to announce the Grand Prix Poker Tour Mini presented by partypoker. We have 20 confirmed tournaments each guaranteed at $50,000.

I will be hosting the tour which is set to visit casinos in Milton Keynes, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, Brighton and Newcastle with even more cities to be confirmed.

This is a great tour that will bring the festival feel to some excellent casinos up and down the country for an affordable $109 buy-in. I look forward to visiting all of the venues and some new cities in the process. I hope the player’s enjoy the tour as much as I will.

Our first GPPT Mini stop is the Buckinghamshire town of Milton Keynes, known locally as MK. The tournament will be hosted at The Casino MK and kicks off on March 23rd!

You can qualify now for the event on partypoker.

Will all players who make Day 2 be in the money?

"Each of the GPPT Minis costs $109 to buy into and feature a guaranteed prize pool of $50,000. Like the GPPT Main Event, everyone who reaches Day 2 are in the money, with a min-cash being worth $330, which includes a $109 ticket for a future GPPT Mini or GPPT Main Event."

I've worked on events of all sizes in a number of roles from Tournament Director through to WPT Commentator but the GPPT Mini is the first full tour I will completely oversee.

Rob and I set out with the initial plan to bring a more localised version of the tour to card-rooms around the country and that is exactly what we are doing...

Opened an account     Check
Put some money in -   Check
Rearranged Kids football match kick off to 9.20 from 11am -  Check

Now just need to shift this viral infection or i'm going to be fun to sit next to at the table.

all GPPT event receipts say that

to reduce risk of hit with exchange rate when withdraw from USD pp account to a GBP bank account.

(probably more important for new players than for yourself, its been a big issue)

Not so strange - the public information has been confusing. Just look at the poster.

Hendonmob says it is next weekend.

It's not clear that you could buy in at the desk as well as online.

Saw someone posting on a forum asking when Day 2 is, it isn't clear.

So far as I know, it's the first one in this area, so there's no reason the players would be familiar. I wasn't sure if I could buy in, so phoned up earlier to check, but others might not. I think if it said £75 rather than $109 for the live days it would be clearer. Anyway, gonna pop over to Brighton for one shot later. Look out for my photos.

I'm going to use a ticket I have and late reg, am left presuming this is done once I get there

Agreed, I was considering playing but in the end the missus made plans for the Sunday. However, it's not immediately clear if it's day two on the Sunday or a further day 1 flight. Also, I didn't know whether you could buy in direct or via PP which is a nightmare on an iPad. Having the sterling value would make it more accessible.

All that said, will look to play the next one.

Hi guys.

Thanks for the pointers. I am currently abroad (but following these things with a keen eye.)

The Hendon Mob dates I checked and okayed seemed okay at the time with dates listed 17-19th which is when all live play takes place.

Regarding the buy-ins we do advertise the sterling amount and that players can use cash on the day to deposit into pp accounts to buy-in.

I'm back on Wednesday and will do some digging into what may have been missed here. Sorry for any confusion.

Glenn

the GPPT Mini is down to 25, with the $18,000 added value we were able to pay a min cash of $390 and $10,500 up top

The $5000 side event was delayed to 3.30pm to let players get through the London to Brighton bike ride traffic so late reg will now be 7pm..

There are currently 26 players all hoping to win Simon's Bounty of a $6000 CPP package by knocking him out holding AA, last time we tried this promotion it was won

Today is the last day to win GPPT Mini Golden chips for Glasgow this weekend. am going to repost Simon's FAQs on Golden chips, remember the satellite is at 7pm tonight

Here are the FAQ's we've answered so far on the site:

Q. What if I win more than one Golden Chip?
A. There is no need. Once you have won your chip it is valid for any GPPT Mini’s that fall within the 28 Day validity. A player is only permitted ONE chip in their account at any given time. If a player has more than one they will not be eligible. This ensures fairness across the promotion.

Q. So I can use my Golden Chip at more than one event?
A. Yes, if the chip is won within 28 days of the event start date it will be valid.

Q. What happens when my Chip expires?
A. The chip will simply become inactive and removed however you can win another one to ensure you have one in play for the next GPPT Mini.

Q. Do I still need to buy-in?
A. Yes, the Golden Chip is a promotional bonus; you will still need to buy-in/qualify to enter the tournament.

Golden Chip satellites run nightly at 7pm on partypoker. Please ask away if you have any more questions.

Played this last night from a seat I won through slightly over min-cashing at Old Trafford. Got through with some chips for a nice freeroll.

Impeccably organised, even with the rather odd triple registration system.

Why in this type of good tournament you will decide to put 10 players per table? Game was so slow and boring.

i guess because the Broadway holds 150 (?) and they were close to capacity at over 100 runners per live flight?

Day 1s were 10 handed and I overheard one of the staff asking the TD about that. He said day 1s are always ten handed. Unable to confirm that personally, as I can't remember whether it was at Old Trafford.

Day 2 was 9 handed.
