these updates, just in case there are any confusion, are a "mirror" from the new DTD blog console

that's at http://www.dusktilldawncasinonottingham.com/live-updates/

the thinking is that interaction on here will work well with the content on there, which is repeated on here automatically

i will respond to requests and questions as i can

it's been over two years since our last update, so expecting it to take a while for posters to get back into the swing of things but if it goes well hopefully this will carry on going forward (up to DTD)

in due course a chip app is being added to enable players to update their own positions real time, as the WSOP did i think

any feedback on all this welcome as we go through the weekend

Sitting next to each other in our small opening field are layers with a combined age of (deleted to spare their blushes)

Title: Vote Romain
Post by: dtd_live_updates on August 27, 2016, 01:45:27 PM
Vote Romain

Newly arrived is the runner up from the first Grand Prix of the 2015-16 GPPT, Paul Romain

Paul had a golden chip for that event and effectively lost a £50,000 flip to win the event and cash in the chip.

Looks like its still on his mind (or it might be Alan Pardew’s strategy in the transfer market, or both)

Post by: dtd_live_updates on August 27, 2016, 02:36:19 PM
Young gun goes for it

this is Tom Haney, renowned as one of the up and coming regulars both at DTD and on the scene, son of Daryl and Vanessa both DTD poker players

i arrived at Tom’s table as, UTG, he led out 3,300 into a 6,000 pot on the river of a board reading

only to be met by a Raise from Russell Betts to over 11,000.

Tom thought and thought, his expression unmoved, and eventually folded

Battle lost, but still a long way to go in the war ahead…

Ben Dobson, Tom Mddleton and an awkward view of Dan O’Callaghan

Richard Herbert and a disguised Mick Fletcher

and a blurry Mitch Johnson and Andrew Hills

Wotcha talking about Willis?

Jonty Willis calls a raise in the small blind with pocket sevens

Anthony Kennedy calls in the big blind

flop

Willis check calls 1,000 from Kennedy who has led into the raiser, who folds

Willis check raises to 5,000, Kennedy goes all in setting Willis in

Willis call with the set

Kennedy having led his double gutter on the flop, hit on the turn and potentially stack a set

You know where this is leading..

Tim Blake raises with Kings

John Hayward flat calls

it comes King high, two spades

K-4-5

Happy days (for now)

Blake leads and is called

6 on the turn

Blake leads 14,000 this time, call

river 3

What to do? Blake leads again, Hayward shoves ( coverinng) and Blake calls with the air of a man who knows what is coming but has to call anyway

Hayward A-7 to knock Blake out (again) with the immortal words

Quote

sorry, i was intending to float you on the river

Not too bad Tighty - the river was a 6 - but the result was the same lol

Yes, the river was a 6, but the hand didn't play out that way at all. Makes me look a right donkey!

Cheers for the info earlier Tighty. I made it through the satellite so will be taking my chances in the Turbo tomorrow, trying to spin up a bigger stack!

It might be worth DTD / PP advertising the Stack Surrender option. I wasn't sure about it, and maybe regulars take it as read that you can do that, but there will be others out there who probably never considered it. Worth another pop at the satellites for some people, and some with bigger bankrolls would probably just buy-in again if they are riding a short stack. Might add a few numbers and help them hit the guarantee).

See you tomorrow.

Bursting a bubble?

I have been poised around the six tables waiting for the bubble to burst. A level into hand to hand so far, and it hasn’t and the players are off on a break

Lots of shortstacks, and the only one who has got it in so far has been skalie who shoved over a Chris Gllespie raise

call

skalie A-Q

Gillespie Q-Q

An Ace on the flop was met by rapturous applause by all the players (maybe). As the Ace held skalie did an involutary jib sticking two pairs of two fingers up at the other players with a broad smile on his face

Jackson agonised

Quote

i know you want me to call, i should call as i have called the flop, not much has changed

and turk hearing this is in overdrive

Quote

come on you used to be a good player, how can you fld an ace here? hey internet whizzkids (railing) you have to call here with an ace right, odds say it? Jackson you have become terrible

(all lighthearted)

Jackson listens to a several minute diatribe along these lines and folds

Quote

only tell me i am terrible player if you show me the bluff

Turk does not show

A couple of minutes pass and Turk says to him, sotto voce

Quote

great fold, i rivered with pocket sixes
