Title: Las Vegas - Summer Interest Thread
Post by: shipitgood on February 13, 2017, 12:57:58 AM
So the last few years, reading all the Vegas blogs, it makes you want to be there!

The plan is to be over for two weeks at some point over June/ July.

This thread is really just to see if anyone would be interested in buying a % in a Vegas package.

Not sure what events yet,  but am looking to playing some MTTs from $200-$1100, with atleast one being a WSOP event.

I'm looking at a spend of ~ £2.5-£3k for MTTs over the 2 weeks.

If anyone would be interested in buying a % of any MTTS played (provisionally), can you please pm me or post in here.

I might also just play cash and only 1 or 2 MTTs, so MTT spend would then be less.

Cliffs:

If potentially you would be interested in buying  piece of my Vegas package if you  could please let me know.

Not what % , but simply if it would be of interest.

Thank you!

"Interested".

And please take on board Pleno's advice - do a little bio if you want investors.

Every year I sell some Vegas action, but the key things are to set your stall out clearly in advance - tell them all the rules, how & when they will get paid, everything.

And updates - keep them interested with updates all the time. After playing online, the pace of live poker in Vegas is incredibly slow, so there's generally time to keep you investors informed, entertained & updated with "fun" updates.

Thanks all.

I will sort out dates, then confirm what I'm selling for; be it one mtt or a package of Vegas mtts.

Seems like great advice. Where did you find it?

Potentially interested. Very much enjoyed Mr Kendall's adventures last year and no chance of me getting out there myself.

I'd be more likely to take a % of this. Sounds like fun.

Thanks to all who showed a positive interest in a potential Vegas stake. I'm defiantly going and will post up a staking thread around about May or Early June. It doesn't look like any non wsop events have been released yet.

My total spend on 3/4 mtts will be in the region of £2000, it's quite a nice figure if I sell 50% then it's not to little and it's not to much either and gives the chance of a nice score still.

I'll play 1 wsop event plus 2 or 3 400-600 dollar buy in kind of games.

I'll also need to find out what the situation is regarding taxation of mtt winnings for uk players, if it is going to be hard to get an exemption from paying the tax.

I'm quite happy for folk to provisionally book a % just now if they wished to do so based on a £2k spend

So 10% would roughly be £200
2.5 roughly £50.

Max of 10% per person. 1.07 mark up. 50% being sold.

If you want to provisionally book a piece based on these rough figures, I'll send you a pm once proper staking thread is live with full details of events (in May) and then you can confirm if you still want to take that piece, if not thats no problem.

Thanks!

Hi Kev,

Provisionally, I'll take 2.5% please.

Most of the schedules for WSOP time in Vegas are announced in March, a few, such as Binions, April. Venetian will announce in March I imagine, & they run a very comprehensive series with buy-ins to suit all tastes. Lovely place to play poker, too, proper posh.

The Daily Deepstacks at The Rio might interest you, too, they get thousands of runners & are at affordable prices, usually 3 a day with different price points.

There's a very useful thread on 2+2 run by a guy who made the WSOP Main Event Final last year, Kenny Halleart, & he does a spreadsheet of all decent poker festivals in Vegas during May/June/July, it's worth bookmarking, as it's just what you need.

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/65/mttc-live/2017-las-vegas-summer-poker-tournament-schedule-1644058/

One thing you are going to gave to get used to is the Rake/Reg Fees on MTT's in Vegas - they are very steep, even 20% & 22.5% is not unknown, with 12% to 15% being normal. That's just how it is, like it or lump it.

I think I offered a pkg on the staking thread a few years ago as a leg pulling / tongue in cheek post ! But got no takers :)

Hi Kev,

The Venetian schedule has been announced;

https://www.venetian.com/content/dam/venetian/casino/poker/deepstack/2017/DSE_III_2017-Schedule.pdf

And the WSOP schedule is here;

http://www.wsop.com/tournaments/

Schedules for the likes of PH, Aria, Wynn, Binions, GN etc are still awaited, but the WSOP & Venetian are the big two, around which you should build your schedule.

Thanks Tikay, will check that out.

Does any1 have any idea about the situation is with casinos issuing a tax exemption for uk players?

Few articles saying casino's can't but wsop  saying they can?

I've only seen this mentioned in the passing, but no actual stand alone thread. If wsop is correct, wonder if they could issue it to someone once registered, eg even if they do not cash. Which could then be used in a cash in any non wsop event.

If you cash for over $5000 you will require to go through the process of acquiring an ITIN number or you are subject to 30% deductions.

DONT ACCEPT ANY MONEY UNTIL YOU HAVE GONE THROUGH THIS PROCESS WITH THE CASHIER  . once you have your number its good for 5 years

Depending where you cash determines how proficient they are . The Rio for example  (that houses the WSOP events) is very knowledgeable  whereas the Venetian and and the likes of The Golden Nugget are extremely hard work.

It took me 10 days with The Venetian to receive my number in which time I had gone home , however having left the correct details the bank payment came through promptly ( this happens a lot )

The bottom line is if you follow the correct process you will receive the whole of your money its just a case of when

Hope This Helps

Hey Fraser,

Do you think  by simply playing a WSOP event, if asked, they would be able to issue an ITIN?

Chicken and Egg

you dont need one unless you cash over 5k hence its effectively a waste of their time

If you're thinking of " how it will tie up your cash " remember once you've filled the paper work they will pay you 70% immediately and keep 30% till the ITIN number comes thru

Hey Fraser, thanks.

It's just I'll most likely only be playing 1 wsop event, with the rest being non wsop.

If playing that wsop event allowed for an ITIN to be issued it would be good and straight forward.

However everything else suggest it is going to be really difficult and onerous to get issued an ITIN no.

They ain't gonna issue something that the vast vast majority of people won't need.

That's where waving a bit of scratch about comes in handy.
