blonde poker forum

I know Tikay & Tighty won't like this, but there doesn't seem to be much activity on the forum anymore.

The forum is pretty much held up by posts in TFT and maybe the only reason people hang around the forum anymore? Even Fred itself is barely getting any posts these days. Often can be just 1/2 posts a day.

The rail is barely anything, only really busy when someones been robbed and potentially the only time Camel makes more than one post in a day. Stakes and diary aren't even worth a mention.

Has Blonde got long left? :(

We are literally on the cusp of another scintillating, white knuckle Tony 'arse-rip' Kendall Vegas staking adventure ride. We are strapped in and the roller coaster has just started moving very slowly skywards. When we reach the top, bang, whoosh, screammmm, all kinds of hell is gonna be unleashed. The sense of anticipation is almost too much, I can hardly breathe.

Do you think you are a net contributor to blonde, or a net taker? blonde is a collection of people. We can't force folks to post, or be reasonably civil to each other. If you want blonde to survive, it's up to folks like you to do your bit. The choice is entirely yours.

Yo if it was deleted you wouldn't have been able to do back to back posts. That would've robbed us of an almost magical sense of irony. I mean what's that? Aaron thinks I only post more than once on grim threads? Kapow take that you villain.

Most of us are "guilty" of that, if it is a sin. It's just the way life, & social media is these days.

There is so much to do, see & be entertained by these days, & it's easier to read what others write than write stuff ourselves.

Nobody needs to feel guilty, it's just how things are evolving.

I log in pretty much everyday, dont really know anyone on Blonde but still pop in to catch up.

Im guilty in that i have contributed zero in all these years yet love the place.

Fingers crossed it keeps going as i dont do facebook etc.

Think i started my first ever thread a couple of weeks ago as i just started running, better late than never.

forums of all sorts come and go very few apart form the biggest survive blonde has done not 3 bad, mainly due to the work of tikay and tighty.

facebook, twitter and other social media have taken over from the need of the forums nowadays and tikay's pockets arent as deep Mark's

although i heard a rumour he has bought A share in facebook twitter and 2 in snapchat

blondes been around about 12 years now and a major part of its survival is the community built round the updates and the bashes and meet ups
these are no longer viable so we dont get the growth we used to because of these and numbers will dwindle of active users till we have just that hardcore members left
but i think blonde will still be here for its 15 and possible even its 20th birthday

What on earth can you be angry about? It is a bit of leg pulling about you commenting on the grim threads. Angry though? Maybe posters in tft should be angry that all you contribute is criticism but no bets? I dunno.

Almost correct Tony, but it's not "fear" of being ridiculed, its just people don't particularly want to be ridiculed. We visit blonde in our recreational time, to enjoy ourselves, rather like, I suppose, folks go to a pub & meet their mates to chat & unwind after a day at work. The last thing they want is to be ridiculed & mocked, & if that happens, they don't go to the pub, or blonde, any more.



It's irony at it's very best that Aaron asks if blonde is dying, bemoans the lack of posts on Fred, then delivers a swipe at many good blondes. It's EXACTLY that which is part of the problem.

Aaron gets a lot out of blonde - see the Vegas thread for example, where he has raised many questions & Marky & others have patiently answered them all without much in the way of thanks.

There's little doubt that blonde is in it's dotage, tottering along ever more slowly, but Aaron's determination to upset so many others when he contributes so little is a shade disappointing & does not help.

Camel created Fred, & is now accused of contributing nothing to it. All of us have, or should have, learned a great deal about successful Sports Betting from Camel & the other Elders, past & present.

Can't make this stuff up.

How about a Locomotive Of The Day thread?

i got the updates back. between August and October last year i did three events

over a combined nine days updating there were 11 responses

one event had 1 response over three days.

one day, i even asked privately some people to post on them and ask questions to give me a shot at getting it going. got two posts

unsurprisingly, but nonetheless not something i am particularly proud of,my motivation drained away during these events. I was pretty stale.

moan aside, DTD have set up a spanking new update suite on their site and every weekend update their DTD200. From a team of six updaters they can sometimes use 4 over a weekend and a professional photographer. This removes the main problem there always was for a person trying to do it on their own, the crushingly long hours.

The team includes zerofive, chili and rexas and they are very good and very funny

the updates are mirrored on facebook in the DTD group for interaction and typically there are 60-100 posts per flight

I was strugglnig to find an argument as to why blonde should carry the "mirror" of these updates having been met with such a resounding rasperberry last autumn (i am sure many people will say "never knew they were on", which is down to me again))

elsewhere Phil Heald and team do a fantastic job on GUKPT and Paul Seaton does a lot of other events. He's very talented   

so a) whilst i have always regarded updates as important and indeed where blonde first became known, i don't think these days it would mean "becoming huge again"

b) the update market has moved on. providers themsleves do them, resourced properly and done well

Funny thing is Aaron trolls us and we all bite :)

That fear/not wanting to be ridiculed stance is rhubarb. So everybody uses twitter/fb instead of Blonde because that's the way life is these days...what and twitter/fb is some kinda save haven where nobody gets ridiculed? The most successful threads on blonde or social media are when there's a scandal. Maybe not the most pleasant but definitely the most commercially successful. I think Aaron has always been a strong poster in that regard, stimulates reaction. The fella puts a couple of words down, makes camel more angry than ever before, brings a smile to my face, people criticise, thread hits 4 pages. As usual nobody died here and yet is criticised for stimulating people out of their slumber? Can't make that shit up tbh!

The reality is that when something teeters upon the unsuccessful people make excuses, we are victims of circumstance, boo hoo, what can we do? I see it all the time. In these times people need to grab the bull by the horns, reinvent, see opportunity, be pioneers, control what they can control not moan about what they can't.

Over the past few days there has been at least half a dozen threads that I wanted to comment on but the truth is, most of the time I just can't be arsed.

Take the book thread for example. once upon a time I would have pounced on that, but now I don't seem to care if people know what my favourite books are or not.

However, I also quite like that certain threads have significant differences of opinion expressed but tend to avoid outright name calling, badgering and insults and remain fairly civilised/disneyfied. It's a paradox for me, if that's the right word

I think the jumping on Aaron when he posts something slightly contrary is always ott and just tramples the place into the dust - his posts are far from the problem and arguably the risky shift responses are much worse for blonde in general.

I actually can't believe what I'm reading. A light hearted joke & I am suddenly ridiculing someone. Really? I think people need to look at comments directed at me, before piping up really. It was only a couple of days ago a member called me out & ridiculed me, but that's of course not got any attention from the mods of course. One rule for them, another for others etc.

As for Camel, why do angry? You need to lighten up. Maybe I need to be angry when you created "Aaron's Arrows" and ridiculed me. Maybe.

This will generate some buzz, we get (out of 18,727 member, of which lets estimate 75% are active) to contribute £250 each, which will equal £3,511,312 and use this to purchase lottery tickets, now I realise that the true odds are 13,983,816 - 1 but obviously its never going to be 1,2,3,4,5,6 or 8,9,10,11,12,13 etc as that NEVER happens so discount all them and you are actually left with 3,511,312 combinations!

Now we're due to recieve £5,565,296 (-my 10% management fee) leaving a tidy return of £356.62 to each player, a pretty impressive 40% RISK FREE ROI!

Now the buzz around blonde's lottery win, possible speculation that there is a "system" will cause a PR buzz, sign ups go through the roof and blonde is #saved and we all made a few quid.

OK instead of you grimming for £500k I think you should grim for £500 (it's a recession after all!) and use this train to make your escape, having a season pass obv an advantage as you don't need to dip into the monkey to get away.

After 8 pages of speculation, you come in with a long winded emotional post claiming heroin addiction as the motivating factor behind your actions, 10 pages of harsh words and some heart felt sympathy then photo's emerge of you on the train surrounded by girls (or maybe just one girl) popping bottles of Cava (was only a monkey you knocked us for after all) partying it up.
