Last year, we didn't do very well at all and were out of contention by Level 10 on Day 1. Seems like Luton 2016 was a bit of an outlier!

So, I ask, are there eight hardy souls willing to step up and represent Blonde at the APAT team event? This is, of course, assuming that blonde are successful in gaining one of the coveted places of entry (I think over 60 teams applied last year - 30 got in).

The schedule for the weekend is below, but tournament buyins have not yet been announced. I would assume the side events will be somewhere between £30 and £60 including juice and the main is generally £82pp.

I have submitted the entry request today. Should we be successful, the admin is as follows (taken and amended from APAT.com):

UK TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Teams with 8 players each will compete for both a team and an individual prize pool in the UK Team Championship, which will be run as an MTT with a buyin of £75+£7 per player.

Entry is therefore £82 per player and this will be required to be paid via an Online Holding Tank by INDIVIDUALS - co-ordinated between myself and all Team Captains - each team member will therefore need to have a Grosvenor Poker online account to enable them to register online to play in the UK Team Championship.

The total prizepool of £75 per player will be paid out on a 50/50 basis to the top 3 teams and the top 18 (tbc) individual players from the MTT.

The top 120 (tbc) players in the MTT will score points for their team with 1st = 120 pts down to 120th = 1 pt.

Teams are to wear their own matching colour team shirts for both days of the event - if desired, EMBROIDERED POLO SHIRTS OR T-SHIRTS are available from APAT at a subsidised cost of £15 per shirt (reduced from £18).

In addition to the APAT logo and UK Team Championship event wording embroidered onto the shirt breast, shirts are also branded with the Team Name plus player name OR nickname (other wording or team logo embroidery is also possible but will cost more depending on requirements). Should we require these I shall arrange with APAT.

This event has seen huge demand in previous years, and APAT are expecting similar interest this year.  The event has also on occasion previously suffered from "team last minute dropouts", and therefore, as APAT did previously, APAT will again maintain a reserve list and require all individual team members to pay the entry fee of £82 via Grosvenor Poker in advance by 9pm on Friday 5th January 2018.  

Any team failing to meet the buyin (all 8 members) deadline will have their team entry offered to teams on the reserve list.

Any team that pays the full buyins (all 8 members) and has a last minute need to drop out will have their entry offered to the next team on the reserve list and whichever team takes up this option will have their buyins used to reimburse the team that had to drop out.

The top 50% of the field (rounded up for an odd number of runners) will collect points with the first of those to exit collecting 1pt and the winner collecting the maximum pts for that tournament.
Team points are the total of the 3 highest finishers in any one team.  These are then adjusted by the Team Multiplier to calculate the final Team Points for that tournament.
The Team Multiplier for each team is based on the number of players in each individual team that finish in the points positions :-   1 Player = 1x, 2 Players = 1.2x, 3 Players = 1.3x
In the event of a tie amongst teams on the leaderboard, the team with the higher number of individual players in the points across all events will be deemed the higher finishing team.  If this is equal, then the team with the player who collected the highest individual points in all events across the series will be deemed the higher finishing team.


EXAMPLE


In an 84 runner event, Team Duffy finish 3rd, 12th, 33rd & 62nd.
 
Points will be awarded to the top 42 finishers.
 
3rd Place = 40 pts
12th Place = 31 pts
33rd Place = 10 pts
Total team points = 81 x 1.3 Team Multiplier = 105.3

Hope I don't get too many more table moves in this comp.  Sat out at least an entire orbit until they started to deal me cards again after the last one.

Just had the same thing happen again.  It looks like it waits until the button has passed before you get dealt cards, no matter where in the orbit you are when you are first sat at the table.

Out 9th.  Went from 2nd to busto in two hands.

Lost with turned straight vs rivered flush in last hand before break, then shoved T9o on button with last 6BB on first hand back and the same player had TT in the Big Blind.

Should be a decent points haul for us overall though.

Thanks, but we can't make team changes now to the 4 we have registered so it won't make a difference for the online league we're doing now.  Not sure if they'll run another one further down the line though, so worth keeping an eye out.

Nothing to stop you playing the tournament if you like though, as it's still a normal MTT outside of the team points.

My team sit in 2nd with one week to go.

Looking forward to the team event as always - such good fun and always played in fantastic spirit.

Chances are I can't make it this Sunday as I will be at the NFL Wembley game, and then driving back home afterwards.

Not sure it's even possible to access the software via iPad in any event.  I don't hold out much hope of such for a network that can't even figure out how to do table moves.

Might look at registering and sitting out, if it's feasible that doing so would get into the points.

Yeah, this would be a good idea. December 1st is a good date, just in case we need to arrange reserves and gives everyone a month to register online.

Assuming his name is Tony then yes it is, certainly if he has played for BCPC twice it his the same one, just watch him with Taps in Blackpool (they tend to break).

I did get your messages but up until the last day we were struggling to get a team - I didnt want to order 8 shirts not knowing who's name to put on them, where to get the logo from etc. If I'd had 8 confirmations and 8 bought in 4 weeks before the cutoff date, I would have ordered through your mate, but I couldn't chance it, especially as I couldnt afford to cover any mistakes etc.

*cough* in my defence, I'm not a holdem player and get bored very quickly when playing it, we were two hours in and I think the first bottle of red had just been finished.

You raised to 300 and I decided to defend my big blind because that's what the kids seem to do nowadays. And 7d 4d is very pretty. Flop is AT6 one diamond. Check, bet 500. Float is another thing these kids seem to like so let's go, plus it's only one chip. Turn 9d, we like that. Bit of Hollywood, check, bet 1000, bit more chin scratching and it's once again only one chip.

Check and the bet is now 1500 which is two chips. Hmmm.

I think for a bit and put out 5025 with two chips. Rotty and I are at opposite ends of the table and equally myopic. He thinks I've called and tables his T9 for two pair. The dealer points out the raise and whilst I'm eating the chair Rotty takes what felt like a week before eventually folding.

It was a very good weekend, didn't really manage to catch up with any of the blonde team other than I suspect the guest player in cap and glasses.

I managed to play a lot of side events though!
