You wouldn't ever seriously select either of them ahead of anyone in the team i selected surely? Gerrard, Lampard and Shearer all had their stats heavily padded with dozens of penalties as well. All three players extremely hard working and made the absolute max from their natural talents but, imo, not good enough to grace the best EPL XI of all time. Title: Re: 25 years old! you choose.... I don't think the number of honours should be a consideration IMO as the more dominant teams often make their average players stand out more.

Surely worst Premier League XI would be better? A lot more fun anyway! Maybe with a caveat that they must have won a medal (Prem/FA/League Cup)? Should be some crackers in there!
