Title: Smells like coconut
Post by: RED-DOG on November 10, 2017, 01:26:03 PM
I've been playing a few bounty hunter tourneys lately. I often go deep but I don't take many scalps. Yesterday I finished 17th from 3300, and took exactly 0 bounties.

Do I need to change something?

Watch a few tonkaaa videos, he plays them regularly and is extremely aggressive in situations where a bounty is on the line - I'm no expert, he's possibly over aggro, but the general gist is calling much wider when a bounty is up for grabs, calling with any two cards will often be +EV in heads up scenarios

Congrats on finishing 17 th

I am having the opposite - taking the bounties but not running deep - took 9 bounties last night sent packing within the hour.

When I do get it in, I usually don't cover anyone. Lol.

The thing is if you're always short stacked then others will probably play more aggressive against you trying to get your scalp.

It's not the worst way to chip up against players playing too wide against a normal style (probably correct with the bounty involved).

I'd say if there's more money to be had from winning the tournament than taking a few scalps then as long as you get the bounty of the guy you're heads up with you're all good.

You took me out of a BH on Sky the other day :)

are these progressive or fixed bounties?

in the Prog bounties i will be super aggressive when i have chips against smaller stack some of these bounties and get big real quick and you can be risking a small portion of your stack for a bounty bigger than ladder to the final table

Let that be a lesson to you. Don't mess with people who don't know what they're doing.  ;djinn;

My entire stack is usually a small portion.
