If nothing else, Online Poker can boast the tackiest wackiest Promos ever.

Barely any of those 25 sites still exist, of course.

Years ago in Vegas there was some scruffy old bloke with an old border collie in a Doyle’s room dog coat wandering the Venetian corridors
I thought it was most bizarre

The Mansion Poker promos were incredible.  Superbowl One I recall got plenty of traction here. Didn't they also have a regular gteed prize pool mtt with a massive overlay?

Can't quite recall if it was $10,000 daily or $100,000 daily, but they gave away scores of seats each day - think blonde were given 10 per day - and it still overlaid by a fortune.

Silky smooth software, too, but it was never a profitable room.

Everything with online poker was just crazy at that time. Soon, it became clear why, as the business was unregulated and dirty.

A lot of blondes made a lot of money from Mansion, the good old days indeed.

Incredible, even by today's standards.

Think they were in the same ownership as Genting.

Marc "Mr Cool" Goodwin had an eye-watering sponsorship deal with them. Might have been the best (or worst) sponsorship deal ever.

I actually had enough FFPs at one stage to get the Porsche, but I was shooting for the Aston Martin.

Got cold feet around the time of Black Friday (was worried the site might go the same way as Full Tilt and UB and I had the best part of £50k in FPPS saved up) and exchanged my points for about 5 EPT packages instead.

By far the best promotion was Party paying interest monthly on balances.

Ladbrokes forex currency transaction from sports wallet to poker wallet was the best ever 'non promo' that was the best ever for a few scandos who never played poker and we closed down on the sports book but held 7 figure balances in their lolbrokes accounts for months and the clueless lolbrokes senior management had no idea why until they realised they were shifting them from one wallet to another daily depending on what suited exchange rate movements to gain free cash.

I got offered a couple of k to wear the Mansion gear late on at the WSOP. Wasn’t intending to play the 5k event (might have been 6 max) but thought what the hell, 40% paid with no make up  or %ages seems ok. Being fairly trustworthy (I soon learned otherwise!) I bought in with my own dime and went looking for the promo manager during the break to be told he had got pissed the night before and dropped the entire budget given on roulette.

It was a $100+$9 freeze.

I was sat next to Marc in a cash game recently. Mansion provided him with a daily $50,000 float to play with.

Really?

A million a month, the tempatation to donk some off to a mate would be too tempting for many poker players to resist.

$5k per day I would believe and would be amazing.

Sounded genuine to me, my bullshit sensor is usually pretty good. He thought it was nuts too.

Said that another well known UK pro was given $125,000.

Remember, they were chucking $50k a day at *one* tournament.
