Currently the most popular game in the world (I reckon) A free 100 person online Battle Royale style game. Really amazingly good. Top players get over 100,000 people watching them stream on twitch.

Never played it, but I'm a pubg fan boy!

Downloaded it but have only had a brief go so far....

Daughter likes it.  She tends to hide out of the way until there's only 1 or 2 others left.

I do :D  I try and get her to get in there and start shooting people but she's a pretty bad shot.  I know practice and all that but she'd rather be standing at the end.  She's not a gamer to be fair - she only plays it because her friends do.  She's happy.

Got it, play it, suck at it. But the satisfaction of doing something useful keeps me coming back, plus I find it oddly relaxing. Much more so than Rocket League, the other game I play regularly.

Me and a friend last night, wanted to see how far we could get just hiding. When they got down to two the other guy panicked for some reason, stayed in his base too long and got killed by the storm.

Was a particularly fun moment with 5 left when 3 people ran right past my friend who was hiding in his bush, and one of them set up in a base really close by with a guided rocket launcher.

So you managed to win with neither of you getting any kills? Nicely done!

My eldest lad has just started playing it. I have absolutely no idea what is going on!

The learning curve is so tough.

No tutorial and no matchmaking so the best and the worst are all lumped in together.

Building is the most crucial element of the game and is difficult to get your head around. I have probably got 10 kills across about 25 games total. I don't think I have ever had more than a couple of kills in a game.

It is really tough, I think it's the sort of game you just need to play over and over and over. Need to be looking to build at every opportunity and I guess the muscle memory kicks in and you build faster.

Not sure it is something I will stick with at the moment but there is no doubt it is excellent and addictive.

A good place to start to get better at shooting is probably just to drop into Tilted Towers every time. It is always the most populated so will get lots of shooting practice. Be prepared to die, a lot.

So is crack. Probably best not to get started on either.

Yh improving at shooting is a good starting point, because getting kills (especially out in the open) is so satisfying.

Would highly recommend changing your keybindings so building useful shapes (the vertical wall and the stairway shapes) quickly is easier.

it's a winner take all sng. where the blinds are represented by the storm that damages you if you dont stay inside.


circle = blinds. timer = levels. gear/position on map = your chipstack. 



most people quickly get bored of wins in and of themselves and so play for high kill wins etc.


PUBG > Fortnite tho for sure.

fortnite own the engine that PUBG is built on. they went from being the lead support giver to PUBG development to releasing their own game that failed to compete with it and then they made it free to play to try anythign to fuck them and that made it take off in size  ;tk;

cheeky bastards. shame as the building aspect isn't a terrible idea it's just very kiddy 3rd person get shot build a wall rinse repeat. height should always win. prefer the more tactical options and shooting skill of pubg. obv have a bias tho :D

Would quite probably prefer pubg if it was a bit less intense on my shit graphics card :p

One change I wish they would make it some kind of tiers for how you get matched up.

Maidens for people who never won a match and then less than 10 wins and less than 100 wins.

It is really fun, even though I'm terrible. I've never played Pubg but from what I've read it is a lot slower and a lot more hiding in the undergrowth?

If anyone wants to add me and do Blonde Squads sometime, my username on there is also bergeroo. I don't really like playing solos so much so I've been playing random squads with people when there was nobody who I knew online. There is a group of Iranian guys who want me to get then a British visa every time we win a match and this Albianian kid who is a machine. Other than that it is usually French teenagers who shout abuse at me for being a noob.

how you play is up to you. the main difference is fornite is faster, more kiddie-suited and you can instantly build yourself hard cover to hide behind.

PUBG was born from military simulators which had modified game modes made for free by people for fun. now those were the camping in bushes game modes :D

Anyone been playing pubg mobile? Just released a new update with an "arcade" mode where there's only 27ish ppl and game area starts tiny.

My Son has played it, he states it is boring
