As a rec, just play whatever you feel like playing and within your budget.

I don't get it.   Why should a rec not consider bankroll management?  You can be a rec but profitable, you could have a yearly spending limit and so on.

Because of age and working, I have a pretty big bankroll compared to your average young pro, but I am not going to start playing 50k 6 max hold em MTTs anytime soon.  Of course if you have other income, your bankroll isn't so critical, but with staking/grimming options it isn't that important with your young pro either.

Sure 100 buy ins is ok.

I just think if you are a rec and playing for fun you can spend your disposable income on what ever you want to. You're not playing for a living. I get it if you say right I have x amount of disposable income and I want to use x% of that on poker and I want to manage that amount to allow me to play as many tournaments as possible. Just in my mind that takes the fun out of it worry about how many buy ins you have. Its a hobby so just play whatever you are comfortable with.

Agreed you are a red, could be profitable but just playing for fun etc.

100x buy in is crazy. That means I need $1100 of poker funds to play a $11 tourney. Even a $5.50 id need $550. If I win the $5.50 probably make couple of hundred <1% of the time.

I’d say 5x monthly could be good for live

This month I’m happy to lose £250 so flick in 5 x £50 mtts or maybe a hundred in there.
Online with my £250 I’d prob play 11-22 tourneys.

At least if I win or have a FT I have a chance to increase my bankroll by a number that is relevant.

i play within a budget so that i am not drawing on non poker funds to pay for my hobby obviously when other funds become available i can top up my roll but i dont want to enter a couple of $215 comps one sunday then the rest of the month be sat watching love island

would go for 20bi as a recreational

sounds about right

100x bi if your a rec playing 6 tables at a tine 2-3 times a week for 6+ hours a night and you can still go through your roll pretty sharpish
