There's another thread somewhere with a better title but I can't find it.

Being alone watching telly and Googling stuff.

Spooky. That's exactly what I am doing right now. Love it. Don't know what I would do without Google and Wiki.

Mrs Red & I were listening to a podcast of Paul Gambaccini's Pick of the Pops in bed this morning. My list of things to Google included.

What is Elvis Costello's real name?

Where was Debbie Harry born, what was her bandmate boyfriend called and what was that horrible disease he had?

Is Gambaccini batting for the other side?

How is stainless steel made?

Pipherus vulgaris?

Good try, and you got the 2nd word correct.

And I only know because I just looked it up. Obv.

I managed the vulgaris bit because I see it often. People seem to use it as a suffix to make things sound latinfied or scientificy.

Am not at all sure Tal-Bloke will approve of "scientificy".

You were doing fine until that last "y".

While we're on the subject, I made myself a cheese and onion sandwich last night that was out of this world. Everything just came together perfectly, it was a perfect storm of a sandwich.

The bread was a particularly nice seeded wholemeal.

The butter was Lurpak. (slightly salted)

The cheese was Cathedral city extra mature Cheddar.

The onion was one of those that doesn't burn your mouth out but is still full of real onion flavour, like those you get in Spain.

It was fabulous.

Ive 3 sons and love them more than anything. But when they were growing up I was grafting my bollox off and didn't really have much time to appreciate them. theyre all grown with there own houses and kids now. And nothing beats having all my sons and grandsons round on a Sunday for a family dinner, now ive  bit more time on my hands to appreciate it all I love it.

There's another thread somewhere with a better title but I can't find it.

Being alone watching telly and Googling stuff.

I enjoy this too, however, recently I had a situation where i didn't have my phone and some things that i would normally google to find out came up and it was fun trying to work them out instead.

Kids dogs etc are all too obvious so I’m going to choose something I think most people either don’t enjoy or that I feel I enjoy way more than the average.

For me it’s food shopping. I really love walking around every aisle in a supermarket taking my time. I find it both enjoyable and therapeutic

If the world was about to explode and I was in charge of who went aboard a spaceship that was heading off into the unknown with the hope of one day populating another planet, I'd let you in on the strength of that comment alone.

At the risk of lowering the tone, a really good turnout at a regular time each morning takes a bit of beating, or so I'm told.

I was on holiday recently when this old time band started playing, an elderly couple took to the floor and started waltzing.

They were in each other's arms like nobody else in the world mattered with the gentleman sweeping his lady around the room.

Thought that was perfectly lovely.

Before anyone gets overly cross about this, have a look at #134 here

But I don't live anywhere near you i don't think, I don't play it that loud.

Most music is designed to be played loud so you can completely sink into it. (or at least the music I like)

So it's designed to be loud but you don't play it that loud but you like to open the windows and play it loud enough for everyone else to hear but only the stuff that you like?

Nice.

My mum and dad were surprisingly good at the ballroom type dance stuff. Don’t think they were ever taught, back in the day these type of dance nights were pretty common as standard dating nights/sat nights out so a lot of people were decent and just learnt as they went along.
