Yes, FPL is back for the 19/20 season. Very little has changed from last season. I’ve added an additional H2H league (£10) that is only open to Blonde Poker members, alongside the existing H2H league (£25) that’s open to all. And as requested there’s also a £250 Classic High Roller League.

CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIES IS 5 PM BST FRIDAY 9TH AUGUST unless otherwise stated, the sooner you enter the better it is for my sanity!

Entry is open to Blonde members only (over three months and over 30 posts) unless otherwise stated.

Classic Leagues:

1. Free League
Open to all Blonde members. There will be a £20 prize for the winner and £10 for 2nd place. These prizes are strictly for players that haven't won a prize in the pay leagues.

2. £10 Classic
Open to all Blonde members, except those who’ve entered the £100 league.

3. £25 Classic
Open to all Blonde members, except those who’ve entered the £100 league.

4. £50 Classic.
Open to all Blonde members of over three months and over 30 posts.

5. £10 H2H
Open to all Blonde members of over three months and over 30 posts.

Open to all:

6. £25 H2H
Open to all comers. The H2H format lends to more variance so outside 'sharks' aren't particularly favoured.

7. £35 Cups package - entry deadline is 31st August
Open to all comers. Again the cups have a lot of variance. There will be a Champions League (£15), an FA Cup (£10), a League Cup (£5) and an FPL Cup Last Longer (£5). Whoever goes furthest in the official FPL Cup will scoop the cup last longer.

8. £20 Last Man Standing - if fewer than 38 entries then the entry closing point will be TBD but no later than 31st August
Open to all comers. As it says. The lowest scoring player in the league is eliminated every week until you have the last man standing. This paid the top four last season.

9. £100 Classic (open to all)

10. £250 Classic (open to all)
I will not be part of this league, if there’s enough interest in this league then between those playing we’ll come to an agreement about the best way to hold/escrow the money. I suspect most entering this league will be in other leagues with each other, e.g. on 2+2

11. £20 H2H Draft League (8-team leagues max)
How does draft differ from normal FPL?

1) Only one manager in each league may own any given player. E.g. only one manager has Harry Kane
2) There are no captains or vice-captains in Draft FPL
3) There is no squad budget
4) There is no limit to how many players you can own from each team
5) There are no limits or costs to weekly transfers

The draft will take place on Tuesday 6th August at 9pm BST. If there’s sufficient interest I’m happy to run more than one league.

It's reasonably hands off compared to the main game as you don't have to worry about player values and you are working with a fairly limited pool of transfers after the initial draft.

Unless someone high rolls then it tends to be close run to the end.

I know we’re in money leagues against each other but how has everyone found picking a squad this year? I’ve had very few players in all my tinkers but Salah, Sterling and a Liverpool full-back have been ever present. Formation wise, 3-4-3 has been the default formation for as long as I remember but 4-4-2 seems to be the new kid on the block this season and will be how I’m starting. Still got a few questions to settle before I lock my team down though. Anyone else facing any of these dilemmas?

1. Salah and Sterling or one of the two and Kane or Aubameyang up top? Or can you squeeze in three premium assets?

2. To KDB or not to KDB?

3. Which Liverpool full back is best?

4. Everton, great fixtures, terrible pre-season attacking wise. Should we go with any of their mids/fwds?

5. If you go big at the back, then it seems likely you need at least one 6.5m and under striker. All of them have drawbacks, to be expected at that price, perhaps a case of playing the fixture runs?

6. How much B’Mouth is too much B’Mouth?

7. Is Perez a good option to start with?

8. Chelsea’s assets are very cheap for a top six side.  There has to be value but where? Take the plunge from the start or wait and see?

8. Just how much will transfer deadline day ruin our best laid plans?

They removed that functionality this year.  No idea why, it's ball breaking to have to keep clicking onto players and then clicking "switch" multiple times.

Thank you, I was starting to think my PC had some kind of glitch.

Yeah no glitch, they have "updated" the website and introduced a huge amount of bugs this year.

1) Benched players are displayed as having 0 points even after they played
2) Many teams have incorrect team values displayed.  For example one team in a league I am in is listed as 102.0m total value when it should be 100m
3) Free hit is not available to trigger on the desktop website, but it is available on the mobile app.
4) Drag and Drop to change bench order no longer works
5) Fixture list link goes to the wrong week
6) Bonus points scoring does not update in play.

I know it's a free game but it's a bit shit imo.  They did not even have Adrian listed until Alisson got injured.  Embarrasing.  Not going to be surprised if there is a serious bug that affects the game down the line

Please find below the prizes for the various leagues, these have also been added to the original post.

The cup details will follow, with the League Cup starting in GW 7.

THE CUPS
We have 28 players.

We're following the format of the League Cup/FA Cup/Champions League as much as possible.

In the first round of the League Cup and the FA Cup there will be 14 ties. The winners of those ties, plus the two highest-scoring losers, will advance to the round of 16, at which point the cups will play out as usual.

For the Champions League, there will be seven groups of four teams with the top two and two best third-placed teams qualifying for the knockout stages

If we get a tie, the League Cup does not have replays so we'll go to a 'penalty shootout' tie-break. The tie-break will be the same as the in-game FPL Cup tiebreak.
If a cup match is drawn, then the following tie-breaks will be applied until a winner is found:

1.Most goals scored in the Gameweek
2.Fewest goals conceded in the Gameweek
3.Virtual coin toss

League Cup
GW7 = last 28
GW8 = last 16.
GW9 = last 8.
GW 10/11 = semifinals
GW12 = League Cup final.

In LMS it was another tight week. Both Indian Magpies and Tea for the Tieleman finished on 43 points. The first tiebreaker this season is points scored in the previous gameweek. Indian Magpies scored 46 in GW14 and TFTT scored 48. Ul Peter27.

A low scoring week meant it was very tight in LMS.

Martin Sutcliffe's 33 did everyone else a favour, including Gazza and Greg who survived by a solitary point.

LMS is my only remaining interest (apart from my long standing annual £20 match bet with Karabiner) so I am glad about that).

In GW24 LMS went to a tie-breaker as Brent and Marc Convey tied on 53 points each.

The first tie-breaker is points scored in the previous game week and Brent scored 57 vs Marc's 64, which means that Brent is eliminated.

Hey all,

Quick update from my side on what will happen to the prize money if the Premier League season fails to complete/FPL cancel this season.

1. All Classic League and H2H entry fees will be refunded.
2. All completed cup competitions will be paid out as per payouts (I will contact winners shortly to arrange payment)
3. Prize money for incomplete cup comps will be chopped between the remaining participants
4. Prize money for LMS will be chopped between the remaining participants
5. Draft leagues TBD - there are a couple of teams who mathematically can't finish in the top two, but chopping up their £20 six or seven ways seems a little petty.

Edit: If leagues are cancelled, you'd also have the option to roll the entry fees to next season as, if there's FPL, I'll be running the same leagues next season and rolling would save me about 40 hours of admin.

I have taken the decision not to eliminate anyone for GW29. I haven’t even looked at the table to see who this benefits.

Cups League:
Continues as normal.
The first leg of the Last 16 ties were played in GW29 and the second leg will be in GW30+. I will update the scores in the coming days.

£10 H2H, £25 H2H
On the official site, these leagues have now played to their conclusion. All fixtures between GW30 and GW35 were played out as 0-0 draws and then the KO rounds took place GW36-38.

I am going to recreate the fixtures for GW30+ to GW35+ and keep track of these results. I will then add these points to the existing league table to determine the regular season prize winners and the top eight who qualify for the playoffs.
The playoffs will be seeded (1vs8, 2vs7 etc) and take place GW36+ to GW38+. Similar to what I do for the cups league, I will post the fixtures, results, and current league standings in this thread.

Draft League 1 and Draft League 2
As with the H2H leagues these have no played to their conclusion, with GW30-38 being a series of 0-0 draws.

I am going to set up two new draft leagues.
Blonde Draft League 1+
Blonde Draft League 2+

The draft date will be Monday 15th June, but you don’t need to attend.
I will reach out to all members with the code and instructions, but essentially everyone will create a 15 player watchlist that mirrors their squad exactly as it was at the end of GW38.
These new leagues will then be drafted with the exact same lineups as we had at the end of GW38 and we can proceed in the new leagues.
As with the regular H2H leagues, I will then recreate the same matchups as we were meant to have in GW30-38, I will keep track of results and add these to the existing table to determine the winners. We will essentially ignore the fixtures and league table from these new leagues. I may even set it up as a classic league scoring format to avoid confusion.

There were a couple of inactive teams, so if someone fails to sign up in good time before the draft, using a different email address I will sign up as them, create the watchlist for their team as it was at the end of GW38 and their team will get drafted over. It will then run as a ghost team to fulfill the fixtures.

They've given us the update. They can't reverse any of the H2H fixtures, transfers made etc and set the game back to how it was at the end of GW29.

They should've just paused the game at that point, but they obviously didn't have the capability to do that and just had to let it run.

You’re right and it’s something I noticed awhile back and posted somewhere in this thread. There was one too many teams left and then I took the decision not to eliminate anyone for the GW29 that never finished.
So, I think that means four teams will survive to the final week and then they’ll be ranked on the GW38 scores for the prizes.

It’s far from perfect, but by the time I noticed the initial error, it felt wrong to eliminate two teams in one week as there was a small number of teams left.

And also dino is only in it to administer it so he doesn’t count either.

Absolutely. The only criteria for LMS is weekly points score minus hits. The lowest hits the exit. If you’re lucky enough to still have a chip left and want to deploy it tactically to help in this league then that’s a valid strategy.

Just spotted this. Cheers Greg. Shocked I managed to win anything this year. Nice little sweetener after bricking everything else. Had a mare on overall rank from focussing more on the Championship - well that’s what I’m telling myself :) Fingers crossed Leeds get in the Prem so I can put more focus into this. May be able to see some players more in person should they begin to allow fans back in the ground at all too. Think I’ve only attended 3-4 prem games in the last 5 years.

Thanks to everyone for playing this season. Over the next few days I'll collate the list of prize winners, post them in this thread and contact the winners for preferred payment method (bank or paypal).

In the meantime, if you know you've won a prize please feel free to cut out this step by contacting me yourself - and thanks to those who've already done so.

I haven't decided if I'm going to continue to run the leagues again next season, both due to the time involved and the start of next season being very awkward work wise for me, as it falls during WCOOP.

If there is anyone out there who wants to take over running the leagues, please DM me or make your interest known in this thread.

Everyone who has won a prize has either been sent the money (thank you to those who messaged me) or been sent a message.

I will be running the leagues again next season, so those of you who've yet to recieve the prizes have the option of offsetting it against  the 20/21 entry fees if they wish to.

Next season's leagues will look much the same, although I'm going to bin the cups league as that takes up most of the admin time.

Also, the £10 H2H will likely go too as it wasn't very popular, and given we had the same winners in the £10 and £25 Classics, i will just run one league at that pricepoint, probably £20.

Draft will return as normal, with the number of leagues based on demand.

I will also set up a £10 Sky League and £25 if there is enough interest. They automate the buy-in/payout process (apparently), so look out for details for that. I've never played it before but am going to give it a go this season. It'll only be open to Bionde Poker members of 3 months/100 posts+ to avoid sharks.

The following t&c has been added to the fpl game this year.  From https://fantasy.premierleague.com/help/terms

"12. Players (and Players on behalf of others and organisations) can establish mini-leagues in accordance with the Game Rules. The Premier League does not permit Players charging for entry to mini-leagues they have created, strongly encourages Players not to join such leagues and cannot be held responsible for their management or any loss suffered through Players’ involvement in such leagues. The Premier League reserves the right to suspend and delete Registrations of Players that charge entry to mini-leagues they have created."

A real bummer, hopeful these leagues can still go ahead in some way?  Perhaps this thread should be deleted and everything taken private if they are still going to happen.

As SuperJez has pointed out - and a couple others via DM - the official rules on cash leagues have been updated this year.

As a result I'm going to have to take the leagues off thread. I understand that may see a decline in participation, but I have no choice.

If you've a BP account and have played over the last two seasons I'll reach out to you via DM with the details.

Those of you who've entered the free for all leagues and aren't active on Blonde, I almost certainly have email details so will get in touch there/FISO as applicable.

Draft Leagues/Sky Game - I will organise on a thread on the forum and then delete once the drafts have taken place. We'll run as many leagues as there is demand for. Those who played, and completed the season last year, will have places reserved in Leagues I and II. Sky cash leagues are all above board as they hold the cash.

I anticipate setting up the leagues and sending out DMs towards the end of this week/start of next week.

Do we think ‘charge’ means any admin / entry fee that is retained by the organiser, or does it include the total fee that will be paid back out in prizes?  I would have thought the spirit of the rule is to stop people charging entry / admin fees rather than spoiling everyone’s £20 a season punt with their work mates etc.

They’ve left it ambiguous and I think that’s by design. Similar rules have existed in seasons past, although not as explicitly stated as this.
Whilst it could mean a admin fee it could equally mean any cash league. I don’t know how they’d police cash leagues but I don’t want to take that chance.

I can vouch for sp4ce being allowed into the leagues even though he doesn’t have many posts on here.  Have known him and played in many money leagues for years with him .
