Title: G Luton Friday comp Post by: bunnydas8888 on October 18, 2019, 11:55:05 AM Hi all, I think I've found myself a random friday evening free so was thinking of heading to the G in luton for their friday comp.
I see its a £48 + 7, 4k guarantee. Was just wondering if anyone on here has played it recently? What are numbers like? Do people play to get a stack early & if not just rebuy etc? Also any idea what time it normally finishes around? Thanks Title: Re: G Luton Friday comp Post by: Chompy on October 18, 2019, 12:01:14 PM There's a £100er on down the road, so numbers may be down a bit tonight. I'd set the line at 75-80.

Yeah saw that was on, am tempted by that, but no way I'd be able to make day 2 (not saying i would anyway, but don't want to just throw a ton down the toilet) Title: Re: G Luton Friday comp Post by: UgotNuts on October 18, 2019, 04:37:00 PM Are you playing tonight Chompy?

How you get on bunnydas? Title: Re: G Luton Friday comp Post by: bunnydas8888 on October 19, 2019, 02:06:11 PM Booked. How you get on bunnydas? Turned up very late to it. Lost first bullet AJ v Q9 aipf. 2nd bullet I ended up 17th, 11 paid, made a stupid call against Brijesh. 73 runners & 29 re entries I believe it was. Nothing changes in that place, was a good laugh though Title: Re: G Luton Friday comp Post by: tikay on October 19, 2019, 02:46:54 PM Booked. How you get on bunnydas? Turned up very late to it. Although when you have Kev on the table and he encourages a utg blind raise which ends up with 4 blind raises before a card is dealt it can get abit absurd, fun though. Of course I didn’t get involved, too nitty. Title: Re: G Luton Friday comp Post by: china mug on November 11, 2019, 09:30:36 PM knotted

Says a lot about the current state of the game, I suppose... Or is it self-inflicted death from a thousand cuts? Title: Re: G Luton Friday comp Post by: celtic on November 18, 2019, 08:48:22 PM They used to have this around 7 years. Was terrible.
Title: Re: G Luton Friday comp Post by: Omm on November 24, 2019, 05:45:29 PM Played the 8k £90+10 this Friday gone, brilliant. Got over £10k. £3.4k to 1st. 8 way chop on final table for just over £1.2k each.
Title: Re: G Luton Friday comp Post by: 4KSuited on November 02, 2020, 10:44:48 AM I thought this might be the place this update, since it’s the most recent topic I can find relating to Luton G
Those of you who knew Stuart Fowles - a lovely, larger than life character who always had a joke to tell or a cheeky comment to make, and a very big heart, oh and a massive St Helens fan - I’m truly sorry to have to announce that he’s another victim of Covid. He passed yesterday, and has left behind a loving wife and a huge number of friends and colleagues who will miss him enormously. RIP Stuart Title: Re: G Luton Friday comp Post by: Chompy on November 02, 2020, 04:04:06 PM Desperate stuff. Worked out who he was now, the big northerner with the big voice.
Didn't spend much table time with him but he always seemed a happy lad. Shame. I didn’t know him well but he was always very friendly with me. We had a few laughs on the cash tables. When I joined Slimming World in 2017, he said he’d done it a few years earlier. He said it was great - “...usually one or two men each week with 20-30 women - and they’re all getting fitter....” Very motivational! RIP Stuart. Title: Re: G Luton Friday comp Post by: lutonrover on December 10, 2020, 10:38:36 AM I am saddened to hear about Stuart, we played cash together most days in October, both trying to win the cash race.
Stuart left luton at the end of october to return to Liverpool Before he left he won the last remaining quads promotion. 9999. And received 1200 quid which he was delighted with A very kind, funny and totally likeable man, a pleasure to have known him Rip Stuart |
