Best football team with players from the 90s onwards. None can have played for the same club team or be from the same country. (not just at the same time, but ever) - Who you got?

Pretty sure none of them overlap club wise.   I wanted Ronaldo in but i couldn't find another left back that fitted as well as Irwin country wise and club wise so raul will have to do.  Not a bad replacement.

Don't think one of them played for Man City either!   Was going to list the clubs but big nev has had too many on wiki to list them all!

Not many Spanish players who haven't played for Barca or Real but I found a good one. I will share my team later. Actually really tricky. Getting that last man in is tough, I almost ended up with David Batty as my holding midfielder.

I think it is a valid team, though I am not sure an Alan Hansen from 1990 would perform adequately - at the tail end of his career having already retired from Scotland!

He never played for Scotland effectively.  Was retired for the whole of his prime.   Wasn't part of Fergie's Aberdeen Mafia.  Hansen was part of the team that won the league in 1990 playing 30+ games albeit his last season!  He just squeezes in!  Rolls royce defender

It's really difficult.  I started with Schmeichal in goial, then realised that ruled out Giggs, Ronaldo.

He’s just played for too many top clubs, so he’s only good for being born in Portugal. You need as many one-club players as possible so I went for:

Neuer, Robertson, Ramos, Baresi, Zanetti, Giggs, LeTissier, Lampard, Ljundberg, Son, Neymar.

I’m building mine around Zidane and Iniesta, still work to do though.

Le Tiss and Lampard, both England internationals.

Didn’t say caps it said where they were from. LeTiss is from Guernsey. And I’ve swapped Stoichkov for Neymar as I realized I didn’t have any Brazilians.

Le Tissier played 8 times for the full England team.

OK, always good to get Le Tiss in the team :-).

Neuer, Maldini, Roberston, Vidic, Adams (c), De Bruyne, Iniesta, Zidane, Zanetti (in a defensive midfield role), Trundle (Lee), Asprilla.

Two left backs (Maldini will switch), other than that I think it's a decent team. Please point out if I've missed anything.

Back to the drawing board, Vidic and Zanetti at Inter Milan.

Throwing caution to the wind, Pablo Aimar in for Zanetti. Halaand from Bobby has to be a good shout. If we were combining efforts for a best team, he’d be a good shout imo.

Looks good to me, although I’m a big Cannavaro fan. It seems like there must be a better option than Shearer (but then I do have Trundle in the same spot in my team 😊)
