Could someone check if the tournament lobby is working OK please?

It seems to be frozen for me, I can't click on anything.

It's working fine for me Tom, though it does often freeze.

Close it down & re-open.

I did. I also uninstalled/reinstalled. Still not working.

Cash and Sit & Go lobbies working fine, Tournament lobbies seem to overload my lappy. I have to press Ctrl Esc just to close it.

I think it may have been a problem at my end. I found a couple of processes called pgwbrenderer.exe that were using almost all the capacity of my CPU so I ended them and things seem fine now.

I think they were associated with Party Poker though. (No idea why it's in a foreign language)

BTW- Is there a way to open the lobby in anything other than full screen?

Yeah, I was pretty sure it was your pgwbrenderer.exe.

I've only ever been able to use the Party Lobby full screen. It's so crammed I doubt I could read it any smaller. 

I don't actually mind it being full screen, it's a very comprehensive and customisable lobby, it's just that it is so absolutely full screen that it even covers the toolbar, which means I have to minimise the party lobby before I can do anything else.

hi all

not sure where to post this , so here we are..

very rarely play these days, mainly satellites into bigger tournaments on party, trying to get in very cheaply.

3 weeks ago i won a $330 WPT (mini main event)  ticket after getting through first 2 rounds. this is big buy in for me.

i played these satellites as the tournament was scheduled for 10 july which matched up with time off from work and no family commitments. it had an awesome structure (25minute blinds), a huge guarantee (500k minimum) cant remember exact figure.

copuple weeks ago i got an email saying WPT is cancelled and my ticket has been transferred to different tournament. no big deal if its similar , its not .

my ticket was transferred to  their latest series , which is a mix max PKO  , with 15 minute blinds iand a 125k guarantee, thats if i want to play a tournament that starts 5 minutes after the match starts tonight.

if not i can play tomorrow with 10 minute blinds (really?) PKO  mix max with 125k gtd

i have had 2 long exchanges on live chat, stock answer being "sorry , tickets are non transferable, check T+CS.

i fully understand that if you win a satellite , then for whatever reason you cant play ,then your out of luck.  surely if party change the date making it a week earlier than advertised  ( let alone completely different format),they should give some leeway.

anyway my ticket expires 11 july, i have turbo options tomorrow if i have to. i obviosly do not want to lose ticket, so do i play tomorrow or leave it a week and hope that somebody sensible listens  if i get back in touch before ticket runs out?

really frustating, party is only site i use, do not want to burn bridges, but if this is not resolved, i cant see myself depositing again in future. (long term losing player BTW)

Have stopped playing on Party due to issues like these, good luck getting a positive outcome.

Are there any other tournaments you can play?  If not, I wouldn't chance their customer service.   I'd just suck it up and play tonight over spending several hours trying to explain why they are in the wrong and getting nowhere. 

I'd still far rather play there than Stars.  Stars seems to only run unbeatable daily O8 games these days above micro buyins.  4 entries, hyper, ultra late entries or bounty hunter crapshoots.  And when I say unbeatable,  I don't just mean for me.  Any skill edge disappears if they allow teams to enter with 8bbs and effectively let them choose seats.  Wish I had come to my senses sooner.

with the date of original tourney getting bought forward at such short notice, and the format drastically shortened, and the prize "pool" reduced by a huge proportion,i am genuinely surprised that ticket extension is not possible. seems way out of line to me, and thats putting it very politely.

I think there should be a cash alternative in the circumstances.   They have broken the agreement not you.  I'd give it another go tomorrow before 4, but good luck if forced to play.  People can go a bit nuts in bounty hunters when they sniff your bounty.  Would love to see a Radacanu, England, Bagel hatrick.

i asked them for tourney dollars or a straight ticket swap to something similar to what i tried to qualify for, made it clear i would be happy to wait couple months until next series. no.

said would be happy to take a bundle of tickets for smaller stuff. no.

 first effort at live chat the rep was very helpful, listened and did his best ,second effort on live chat was just somebody sending copy and paste links to conditions, and not understanding the fact that party had changed the date of the tournament i qualified for. or that the format was completely different to original.

pretty sure i could "win" if i chased it further, but not prepared to risk losing ticket so will just spite win tomorrow i guess

thanks karmadope, thats a good shout. dont have twitter account but looking at robs page there is an email address that says things get looked at in 24 hours so going to try that.

tried the live chat again an hour ago, completely hopeless to be honest. their stock answer was to contact them 24hrs before ticket expires (july 11) and the relevant teams will look at the situation and make a decision. i replied that the last available tournament at present is 4pm today, so it is unfair not to let me know if ticket is going to be changed.

so i am not playing today, its a gamble, i could lose the ticket, hopefully they see sense, i am not comfortable with being forced into a date change and a completely alien format to me.

as i said before i hardly play anymore, it is just for enjoyment. i enjoy huge field low buy in tournaments when i have the time to play them. (hardly ever)

breakeven player over 10 odd years but have had some tidy wins, mini sunday million for 14k and plenty other decent scores  so i know what i like playing, these huge GTD  tournaments obviously have tons of really awful satellite qualifiers, which is what gives low stake recreational players like me a chance

looking at my "option" today , it is a mix max pko, just over 100 runners , re entry, and the first 2 names i saw were nikolas  astedt (lena) and david peters.

oh and its a 2 day event. obviously i am dead money here unless i go kamikaze and win all the flips.

i have a job on a building site ffs, sunday my only day off. getting back to min cash after work on a monday. if i have been lucky enough to get through sunday.

i did consider it, but sure he has enough on his plate with work, family,  recovery etc. hope you well tighty if you do see this.

Has it just changed?  I must have been playing on Friday and Saturday and I could pick seats.  Well I think I'd have noticed if I couldn't, because I always do pick seats, and sometimes move to avoid overlaps.

On the chatbox, I can't remember that not going, but don't think I'd miss it these days.  Years ago we used to all chat on the cash and tourney tables on betfair, nowadays it is just people insulting each other and rubdowns.  Even on O8 tables you don't get the chat you used to.  I think the only place left with a comminity feel is Sky and even there more than half the chat is likely whinging and abuse.  Can't say I'd miss it on Stars and Party. 

Can't see why they'd get rid of chat and keep those throwables, they need to go in the bin together with anybody who thought they were a good idea.  I only ever see them just after bad upgrades and when I need to reinstall.

I must be doing something wrong though, every site I've ever played at allowed you to choose your seat position. As you say, it helps you to avoid overlaps.

I just got home and checked a cash table.  I couldn't see a chat box or any way of moving seats.  I haven't played cash there for a long time, so no idea what is normal there.   I guess the chat suppression might have something to do with anonymous tables?

Are you playing cash?  That would explain why my MTT experience differs, but it also updated when I logged in, so maybe it is new??

I guess they just decided chat was a net negative. Just have to deal with all the abuse and ban people and they don't get any money from it. But yeah, just makes it more anonymous and make me want to play live poker again instead!

Played last night, seems more awful than expected.  They have changed the table shape which makes it harder to avoid overlap and you can't switch seats anymore. Plus there seems to be even more annoying gimmicks than before.  Great way to drive out the regs and all your other punters.  Can't they fix that issue where the main menu blocks everything when you change tables?  or get the payouts right on deals?   

FWIW Don't really mind the loss of table chat as above. 

I actually like the rec friendly concept of PP, and I like the no HUD's rule.

For me the playing experience is pretty good, with big easy to see graphics and notifications of what action players have taken.

I don't like the the 'cover everything' lobby and the fixed seating.

You can change the shape of the table in settings BTW.

I managed to change the Party table settings and screen settings on my laptop, so it all fits neatly again without overlap, and the lobby isn't so big when it pops up.  All the attaching gubbins is switched off too, so I can avoid people throwing crap at me when I take a beat.   Also I realised I can stop all the casino and sports betting stuff popping up by accident, so I am now in a better position than I was before they made the changes. So well done Party I think.

Apparently it's a known issue since the update.

BTW Doobs, how did you solve the full page lobby problem?

Messed with the display settings.   Think I made the "change the size of text, apps and other items" smaller.   This was on a laptop/tab, as my PC is ageing and in its death throws.

If the tables come up too small you can always make them bigger.
