Title: Barry Hearn

Bazza fully hands over the reins to Eddie today across the whole of Matchroom.  What a great picture that is on twitter of a young Eddie with his old man.   Like him or loathe him Hearn has made a lot of people (including himself) very rich in the last 40 years.   Steve Davis, Taylor, AJ and many more.

Ironic he retires on the week the ESL was announced as no one loves a pound note more than Bazza.   Fingers crossed his health is ok and not the driving factor in the announcement.

Agree with all that, & I especially hope the old man is not unwell.

Yes amazing picture of wee Eddie.  Proper chip off the old block.  Always been driven to prove his worth to his dad and never just live off his dad's hard work.  Must surely be knighted for services to sport upon his retirement given how easily these gongs are handed out?   Always kept his business in the uk paying all the uk taxes as well.

Can see how much Eddie loves the game, and as much as people love to moan, Boxing wouldn't be anywhere near what it is in the UK without Matchroom.

i said 'himself' not myself!  Not sure if you mis read.  If not you properly whooshed me.   I'd love to be a quid behind Hearn's PA if she has share options.

There must be something subliminal going off there, the first time I read the Argue post I also thought it said "(including myself)", which seemed an odd thing to write.

Was quite reassuring to see Tom fall in the same hole.

Back on topic, Bazza gave a few interviews at The Crucible on Monday & it's looks like he is in fine fettle & bursting with good health & energy.

Yes great to see.   He gets a lot of grief from snooker and darts players who wouldn't be living in 5 bed houses without him.   A lot of them would have a proper job.   Nice to see some respect for him on twitter from some of the louder voices over the years.   Could you imagine what darts could look like now worse case scenario if the BDO were still in charge/existed?

I know Bazzaboy and McGlashan both love Edward and Barry, too.

In fact I read it twice. The first time I thought "He didn't say that did he?" so I looked again and though "Oh yes he did".

Marky. Could you please try not to interrupt my posts. Just wait until I've finished.

Wonder who would be richer after the AJ  fury fights have gone down?  AJ or Bazza?

AJ is already richer, I would imagine.

Unlikely to leapfrog him off Matchroom's cut in that.

Matchroom made the Sunday Times rich list this year at over £100m as a family.  Hard to value a private company as well so they are usually conservative on rich lists.

I remember Joshua was over £100 himself, and that was a year ago.

Not sure if that includes all the little firms he's involved in, too.

:D I actually like Bazza. Less keen on Edward admittedly.
