Attacker on the by line, but inside the penalty area. Defender facing up to him. Attacker pushes the bll inside the defender and then runs off the pitch to get round him but as he tries to get back on the pitch, the defender also steps behind the line and pushes him to the groundto stop him getting the ball. Post by: bergeroo on January 26, 2022, 10:36:37 PM If the ref views this as a direct free kick offence, which I believe a push is, then he should blow his whistle for a foul and the result is a penalty. If he deems it an indirect free kick offence. Obstruction? Then it is an indirect free kick at the closest point on the field of play - on the byline. It should be treated like any other foul with regards to issuing a yellow card if the offence deserved it.
