Okay, we're off. Micky Wernick is in the Razz tourney, 19 players left. he is weakish on chips. Ash the cash sitting next to me. $2000 started, Chip Counts, Laurence Gosney 2nd, 290,000. Carlo Citrone 4th in chips, 175,000, Purdy from Blackpool, 6th in chips 100,000. JC Tran, already the $1,500 NL Bracelet winner is low-stacked. No big hands played so far, very cagey, raise and pass. 3 brits in final, 30% odds of first UK bracelet

Jesus, Carlo had QQ that last hand when iceberg went out and the JJ held up. He would have been chips leader if he had called, but it was the right laydown. Actions was : Calrlo raise 30K under the gun, seat 3 all-in, chip leader flat calls! Carlop must put him on AA or KK to flatcall, so has laid his ladies down! If he had called he would have had 550K!!!

Carlo Citrone Eliminated in 8th Place ($59,175)

Tony Rila has the button in seat 5, Citrone moves all in for $94,000, and Rila calls. Citrone shows 8s-6c, but Rila has him dominated with pocket aces (As-Ah). The flop comes 10d-5h-2c, and Citrone needs to catch something runner-runner to stay alive. The turn card is the 3s, and Citrone has picked up a gut-shot straight draw, and will double up if he can catch a four. The river card is the 7s, and Carlo Citrone is eliminated in eighth place, earning $59,175.

Unlucky Carlo better luck next time.

Sandy

Post by: robyong on July 01, 2005, 12:37:53 AM
Carlo Out
No help on the flop , but nearly hit runner runner to hit a miracle straight on the river.

The Action was:

Carlo moves all -in with 86 offsuit in seat 4 for 90,000
The button does a big moody and flacalls with AA
The blinds were 5-10k with running ante of 1k, 22k in pot
Carlo made a move with 2 live cards
If he was called by AK, AQ he would not be such an underdog

However, after missing the chance to go chip leader by passing QQ, its been a tough final for him. The QQ pass was a correct play, but must affect you.

Laurance staring to bully the table, taken down 2 uncontested pots. he looks very comfortable.

JC tran double up theorugh Alan Purdy - Kh5h V A8, 5 on flop - Tran survives again.

Very next hand, Purdy all in with AT V Tran's AK, Tran wins again. He has survived 4 all-ins! Purdy out in 7th, with $78,000.

6 players in, Laurance 3rd, but Tran looks dangerous.

Hi, this is Isabelle and I'm looking forward to see you all here.  In the meantime, Rob Young is sweet enough to entertain me and I will not be speaking with Ariston anymore as Rob will not like it.

Tony moves all in for 113K with A9 and Lawerence calls being on the big blind with A5.

Flop comes Q,6,2,5,8

Tony busts out in 6th place and Lawerence scoops up the chips stacking up to a nice 455K.

But I don't know any Bamfords in Ilkeston, in fact I hardly know a soul in Ilkeston. I like to keep myself to myself, my neighbours think I'm a
a hermit. Or the local loony. They're not wromg.

Jarl moves all in and Tran calls him down with AQ while Jarl rolls over his AK of clubs.

Tension mounts as we wait for the dealer to deal the cards for the flop.

Q, 7,2, 5, 3

Tran doubles up making a pair with his queens.

Title: Re: WSOP $2,000 NLH - The FINAL
Post by: Mrs C on July 01, 2005, 02:10:43 AM
Lawrence makes a move against Tran moving all in with a pair of 6's.
Tran calls with his AK - this guy aint half hitting his cards!

Flop comes 6,10,3...10 making a very pretty full house for Lawrence!

This tidy win brings Lawrence up to 750K and leavs Tran rather disappointed and running close to the felt.

Tran doubles up twice in a row.

Last double up was against Jarl who holds K4 and Tran has 54 of clubs. flop is 973 with two clubs. turn comes king putting Jarl in front.
Then Tran gets lucky again and wins the pot by hitting a club on the river giving hima flush.

Laurance raises 35K on SB, BB re-raises a further 60k, lawrence calls, flop AdJd7h, Lawrence checks, "Neverwin" bets $120K and Lawrence folds.

Lawrance raises, JC tran all in. AK (Lawrence) V A5 (JC Tran), Lawrence 75% favouritite....on no.......flop comes 575, nightmare, JC Tran doubles up again. JC Tran been all-in 7 times, only lost 1 of them. He now has over 100k in chips from 10k!!!!!!

Shaka raises 80k, laurance flat calls in sb, flop T 5 K, Lawrence bets 200k, Shaka folds. Looked looked like a move to me, by Lawrence (ie. call with any 2 cards and move-in if no ace flops), but i could be wrong....

Larwence has 50% of chips in play, other guys have 300, 400 and 500, he's in great shape but in can all change.......to kock them out or sit on his chips, that is the question.....

Title: Re: WSOP $2,000 NLH - The FINAL
Post by: robyong on July 01, 2005, 05:18:06 AM
The atmopshere is tense here, about 100 people crowded around the table, they did not play it on the normal platform due to bad lighting. Lawrence has set a guy all-in with KT but is dominated by KQ.  Its the shorttest stack, Yarl, the KQ has held up and Yarl doubles up through Lawrence for $144k, Lawence was on the BB and decided to take shot at getting the shortstack out, only risking 15% of his stack. Getting very tense here now.....

I hope Lawrence does not get too aggresive, as if he with till he's head-up, he's still in good shape with $1m and 10-20 blinds. Another all-in, Shaka has raised 100k, Neverwin pushed all in for $300k, BB, Shaka thinking....... still thinking........(normally this means he'll pass) but you never know........come on, what are you thinking about, he has 2 cards, and you have 2, and then 5 dealt and if you win you double up, if you lose, you are out, no point in doing a moody, the man is all-in, still thinking, must be 5 minutes. HE CALLS, Neverwin has AK, Shaka 99, flop 9c Tc 3c, Never win has the King Flush....no cluns on turn or river, Neverwin is out in 4th and Shaka doubles up to a great raw from the crowd, he is relly well supported here. Down to 3 - Lawrence has a great chance, particulary if he getts deal 22.

Russ, If I was betting I would say he was 6/4. It looks like they are playing all-ins rather than flops, so there is more luck-factor involved. If they were playing flops, i was say he was even money, as he could make more moves and bet them out.

Agreed although lawrence isn't adverse to the odd preflop resteal himself. Bit tricky 3 handed though. Don't forget to tell him to get cash- invasion coming on Sunday and everyone needs dollars ;D

ALL-IN - pre-flop, Yarl moves all in with 89 offuit and Lawrence calls with AdQd, flop...........KdTd7h, good flop for both players...........turn 2s, no help, river Kh giving Lawrence the straight and he is the 2005 WSOP $2000 No Limit Champion. He looks a bit overcome, and is accepting his congratrualtions very modestly from everyone. There is about 20 english here, Devlilfish, Peter The Bandit, Chubby.................WHAT A RESULT FOR LAWRENCE GOSNEY!!!

Chuffed to bits for you lawrence, fair play to Rob and Smithers for being both the update and official blonde rooting section. Carlo must be gutted but the Queens was the correct laydown, he made the right play IMO.
