I have spotted a table where the lineup looks like this - 1:Devilfish  2: David Levi  7: Mike Gracz  8: Roland De Wolfe 9: Barry Greenstein.  Better go keep an eye on it.

And in the 2-7 lowball up & down whatever it's called jobbie, we spotted Mr Hellmuth sat right next to Tony G. Nice, quiet table, eh?

Ironside,

The "Deuce to Seven $5,000 Rebuy" had 67 runners.

OK we're down to around 32 players and I am sneaking back and forth between the protective layer of chairs to keep an eye on some of them:

The blinds are now 1500, 3000, and they have yet to get rid of the 100 chips, and so there are absolutely enormous stacks in front of, say, Lederer and Devlfish, but it's really hard to say exactly how many they have.... I have noticed some purple 5000 chips slowly making their way on, and I estimate Barry Greenstein has about 220,000, Devilfish 50,000 and the last remaining female player Odett Fremilloy has just doubled up to about 100,000 with AKvs AQ.  Not sure who she is but she sticks out partly for being a lady and partly for her daringly bright blouse.

I am sorry to report that Vegard Nygaard just headed over to the cash desk, which intimated his having been just now knocked out....

It turns out that he came a very respectable 27th, receiving $11,750, about 10 minutes ago.  Sorry to everyone following from Norway.

Down to 22 players; chip counts in a sec

Take it down Devilfish!

Title: Re: WSOP $1000 rebuy NLHE

After the dinner break, 17 players returned along with a few updaters who ran the three or four miles along the Rio just in time to see Howard Lederer heading out in 17th.  With 16 left, I find that Devilfish has doubled through and is now on about 110,000, with Freddy Deeb about the same and Barry Greenstein sitting on what looks like near 400,000 now.  Rob Hollink has 220,000 while the biggest hand of the last half hour involved the doublethrough of John Gordon.  He called a raise from the cutoff, the raiser checked the A 4 Q rainbow flop, Gordon bet all-in for about 50,000, was called.  He had Q 10, his opponent A K.  The turn brought a 10, the river 9 and now he's breathing more easily as they head towards a final table.   Might be a while.

DEVILFISH OUT IN 16th...

Title: Re: WSOP $1000 rebuy NLHE
Post by: Djinn on July 06, 2005, 05:09:18 AM
Devilfish had been up and down in chips fairly dramatically in the last half hour or so, and eventually took a stand with A6, which ran into 99, and although the flop brought 6 5 K, the following 7 3 were no help and he had to settle for $16,450.

Patrick Bruel out in 15th, taking $21,150.

Post by: Djinn on July 06, 2005, 05:22:02 AM
Rob Hollink out in 14th

Peter Eichhardtt 13th

Odett Fremilloy, whom I have kept an eye on just fell in 12th, when John Gordon called her short-stacked all-in with a 10 8 of spades.  She showed AQ, but the board ended up 2 8 J 8 6 and she was out, leaving just 11 players remaining.  So final table just around the metaphorical corner.

Err, actually I overlaid, so did Paul Maxfield, so the 4 ball became a 2 ball - Brian Wilson and Dave Colclough.

By the way, I saw Ralph tonight, but not seen Gricey yet.

Funny you should ask that Robert, but then you always were bright, intelligent and perceptive. I have rescinded all your Yellow Cards.

It's an "Invitation Only" affair, you have to meet certain criteria before they will invite you. So, no Thewy, no Colclough, no Ariston.

The receipt I have for my entry says, and I quote......

"World Series of Poker, Celebrity Tournament".

I kid you not.

Hi Robert, nice idea, but I'm not sure I want to start talking to the general public at any price.

snoopdog - no idea. But no doubt the event will be extensively covered in the media. I feel quite sure blonde will carry a Live Update. They'd better, or else that Jen will be on the next plane home......
