using internet explorer open page then click the edit tab on the tool bar and click find and type in part of the players name easy way to scan 2000 names in 5 seconds

Or if you're using FireFox just press ctrl-f and it has a rather nice find feature.

Hi I am here just in time for the start (although there was a hairy moment when we thought it might be starting at 11 instead of 12)... but the players have just taken their seats.  I heard a rumour that they would be playing down to 650 today (the money, as I recall) but it could be ending after 5 levels.  I think their main concern is getting it down to the required 3 tables before the prearranged move to Binions - so they might try to whittle the field down before that.  There is actually a day off before the move for the ESPN crew et al to move their several tons of equipment and get the little spectator stands set up.

The players are all at the tables, the bags of chips are bering opened, & everyone is getting themselves organised.

Here's an interesting story from Linda MCkinney Shaw, daughter of the winner of the seniors' event (oldest champ in history) William Paul McKinney.  He started playing cards when he was seven and used to play with the coal miners after work.  He went into the navy and they were all playing cards for money and he wrote home asking for $50 - out of that he ended up buying his parents their house.  Her family lived in a small town in West Virginia and in spite of their religious family background, he was respected by his family whom he provided for (had 5 children in the family).  He has 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Sat next to Will Smith at a poker table with the same unlit cigar (McKinney's) he always has, he asked him why he kept it if he didn't smoke.  "I don't light it, I just bite it" he replied, which has apparenly made it in as a lyric somewhere...

Linda herself doesn't play (there used to be much more of a taboo about the pro player - apparently kids at school were encouraged not to play with her!) but her father is still in the main event, sporting WSOP bracelet and cigar.

I think 3 are left in Dan Harrington,Greg Raymer and Matt Dean. Not sure if all (9?) played

Stuart Forsyth just out with cracked AA in about 5 hands, losing 12,000 when he raised to 1500 preflop and was called by an overexcited KJ who said "You want action?"  Actioin indeed followed when the flop came K 10 8 and he got it all-in only for the third K to pop up on the river, earning him a nice unsubtle American rub-down:  "Slowplaying Aces, huh?"  Some people just don't know when to get it quietly...

Had a strange chat with Marcel Luske. Hard o assess how many chips he has, he keep huge, high, stacks of low-denom chips.

"How many Marcel?".

He pulls me towards him & whispers "22k, but please dont repeat that near the table, I like to keep that info quiet".

But, I say, they can SEE them. He says, "ahh, that's why I keep low-denom chips in big, irregular, stacks - makes it hard for players to see what I have...."

As predicted by near-prescient Garry Bush the field is knocking itself out at an alarming rate.  Heard of a re-re-raise all-in with the dodgy K 10.  Funny how desperately people were hanging on last night.

Also getting increasingly shouty.  QQ cracked AA a while ago and guy was up on his chair shouting and hollering.  I don't think anyone here knows how to get it quietly, come to think of it.  Someone just stormed out into my hallway and threw their glasses and went on a swearing binge.

Crazy hand for Bad Girl - UTG raised, the button re-raised to 8,500.  She looks down and clearly has a decision - while she thinks UTG announces 'all-in' out of turn, and she eventually passes QQ.  They turn over AA and KK respectively, and the board eventually gains a Q.  She doesn't know how to feel about that pass, as she was intending to raise all-in until the other guy's out of turn bet.  Over $60,000 in that pot

Number of entrants = 5690 (about that) multiply that by 10000
 and divide by 1368

I make it about 42k. Knew that maths degree would come in useful ;)

Well, the Maths Degree is handy, but a typing degree may help. Suggest you multiply by 10,000 rather than 100,000...... (ooh-er, tikay tetchy today, eh?).

 After the A6 v Aq you reported earlier Vinny is a little peeved and has a pop at barry. After a few words Vinny says "who are you? you have no name!" Bruce is from my hometown of Atheron quite near Bolton. Hope he does well as both him and Linda are Blackpool regulars and are a really nice couple.

Now then Iron you may want to search Vinny's profile and results. He is probably one of the most successfull tournament players in the world over the last few years.

Hello - I just 'swanned up' to the guy whom I reckon is chip leader by at least half a mile.  I asked him his name and he said "Tim Pham" as he stacked up another 100,000 in chips he had gathered from an all-in coup I saw.  The board was 8 K K 6 and he had been checked to - he just picked up a fistful of purple (5000) chip[s and plonked them down.  Eventually the other guy called all-in for 50,000 and showed pocket 10s.  With K J and no ten on the river he now has just shy of 400,000

I had just found Tiffany Williamson when she was calling another person all-in.  This time it was the classic QQ (her) vs AK (him).  The Queen on the flop put her mind at rest ("thankyou" she said)  and the King on the river was a kind of afterthought.  She now has around 215,000, and a camera crew at close hand.

Howard Lederer and Robert Binelli in a bit of a pot just now - it looks from the size of the pre-flop pot that Robert had raised and Lederer moved all-in.  After a lengthy dwell Robert passed and held on to the rest of his 100k-ish stack and Lederer looks more healthy on around 60,000.  I couldn't count the chips too accurately as the no-lingering-press rule meant that I had already used up most of my time staring at Binelli's hat.

Shane's last name is Bartholomew and he seems to be holding steady on 170k

Some big hand news now -

Nick Persaud was on the big blind when John Duthie raised from the button.  He made a move, pushing all-in with KQ.  Duthie called with A9hearts and when the flop came K K Q with no miracle he ended up with 55k.

Andy Black just won a massive pot with JJ vs (I think A9).  He now has 170,000 and was seen raking in a veritable mountain of small denomination chips, which are building into towers everywhere.  Annoying for the media to count, unstable for the players, but it looks great on TV.

An extraordinary thing just went off.

Bushy raised from the BB, & short stacked Paul Zimbler resignedly called. It was generally assumed that Bushy had wired Aces, but to the shock and horror of the entire table, he turned over A-5. ACE-FIVE....! From Bushy!!

Come here Bushy, I say, what was all that about? He says "I've got far too many chips, I need to dump some so I can be comfy again. And another fing. They told me there would be 6,600 runners, but there are only 5,600. Where's the value, eh?".

Fantastic stuff from Nottingham Nick too...he was only saying to me in April when I spent many hours sitting next to him how out of form he was and he was busy writing down key hands in a little notebook at the table to analyse later. Not only does his turnround in form provide hope for us all but the detail he was going to to analyse and learn seems to have paid off and was an eye-opener for me.

A tournament report of the Media/Celeb Event - or "Celebrity Tournament" as it said on the ticket, ahem - will appear on the front page later today. I sent it to Rhow just before I went to bed today, along with a few other articles, & she will upload it as soon as she gets up I guess. Allow a few hours.

As to how it went, well, once I became Chip Leader 3 or 4 tables from home (started with about 300 runners) the result was a formality. But I don't want to spoil Jen's report, so I'll leave it at that for now.

Today, the plan is that I am gonna play the $1,500 No Limit Comp, William Hill's have sponsorred me on a one-off basis, we begin at Noon Vegas. I think Jen is hoping to run a little Update on it, though she will give priority to the Main Event Day Three Update. Colchester Kev has joined the blonde Live Update Team to assist her.

There is something weird going on, when you look at "who's online" the times are all very strange

the admin has a little bit of working reseting the data base when they get back

you might have noticed that a few posts were also missing from the reset as they werent able to retrieve the exact crash

this caused me a few headaches as i had done my weekly password change 2 minutes before the crash and

my password reminder was set on the new one and wouldnt work


ps remember to change your online passes once a week dont make it easy for the hackers (espically ones protecting your bankroll)

Also another thing for the admin i keep finding myself signed out of the forum after nvigating a few pages which tends to get a tad annoying

i have put a solution for this in the general forum that is working for me

its in the bingo thread apaptly named due to the read a post and its bingo what the topic is
