the Aviator is a great movie.  I looked on wikipedia after the movie and read the profile for Howard Heughs .....  he is a great guy

woody deck all in with aj doubles up, he told me a great story, he only plays aj these days.

He was a really interesting guy..lived in the penthouse of the Desert Inn in vegas for the last few years of his life - the Wynn is there now.

He was a complete recluse at the end, and died a rather nasty death.

Fascinating story though.

Poker4Charity has already started arranging a fundraiser for children like this very special ladies grandson - detiail on Monday

I tried to take a photo of the ceiling but I can't work a camera very well, so I shall try and describe it via the medium of language.

A huge dome bestrides the main playing area in Cincinattis, perched above a raised, circular area, with enough room for one table. There has been much speculation on what used to be here before it was a poker club, as the layout is so unusual. The dome is opulent enough to be worthy of an Istanbul mosque.

Two further tables nestle upstairs, whilst the main tournament (currently at 3 tables) continues apace downstairs. Speaking of which...

This is the way to eat them...   1. Get a Gregs macaroni pie
                                             2. Put the pie in the microwave for 30-40 secs
                                             3. Let cool..  this kind of makes it all soggy
                                             4. Put brown sauce or mayonaise onto pie
                                             5. Cover in pepper
                                             6. Get a bit of bread and make a sandwich

That is fantastic. Try it.

i had a great time but started drinking beer at 3pm. funny thing is though i didnt get drunk. the company was excellent and everyone i talked to was very pleasant, especially jen who has a real energy about her and she is a fantastic dealer.

i went out of the first flight and we were all allowed to buy back into the 2nd flight. brill! i eventually went out in 28th place which i think is brilliant. oh and i also got 2 names from my table mates. 'the smiling assasin' and 'the black widow'....charming but good fun!

the atmosphere was very relaxed and my excitment calmed down quickly. it was so noisy that i could hardly make out what folk were saying so sorry if i asked people to repeat themselves.

the food was the same as it was the last time i was in so no veggie lasagne or veggie burgers. the cheese toasties were good though and everyone seemed to be eating minature pies with chips and a little dish of tomatoe sauce with parsley sprinkled over it.

the beer choice was good for me as i love leffe blonde and they had that and plenty of ice

all in all it was fun and i had a few laughs and chats with a lot of the folk there.
just sorry you couldnt make it
