Really good work, dedication and commitment from everyone in this thread. Keep going guys.

I've had to bow out for a week with a chest infection. Really annoying as I was just starting to post some pretty decent numbers again, and now it hurts to even stand up!

Crazy numbers in the WL, I just don't know what to make of it with all the PEDs so not overly interested, but either way the skill level is just unreal.

Obv loving some of the gymnastics on now.

New training split, just changing it up slightly. Major lifts are 2x5 then 2x8, I may change the 2x5 to 2x3 if I get some confidence with it all. Main lifts being Squat, Front Squat, Seated Shoulder Press, Rack Pull.

Hit 2x5 110kg for the Squat today. First set was pretty bad and didn't feel great, second set felt amazing but tapped the safety pin on the last one and it completely put me off so missed the last. Then a good 2x8 at 90kg.

Looking forward to some seated shoulder tomorrow. Only had it once I think as my main pressing movement, that was nearly three years ago I think. No idea what numbers I will be posting. Going to go in tomorrow and try 60 (lol meathead) and take it from there.

@Matt just as you couldn't imagine squatting X. I cannot ever imagine shoulder pressing 46s. I am doing 5x8 DB Bench one of the says, I will be thrilled if I can get every set out at 40!

Top work Mark and Steve.

What position are you starting the press from?

Glad to see someone else in the universe pings the rails on the squat. Ass-to-grass problems, you know.

I've been incorporating a little bit of weighted cardio into routines for 2 lifters lately as they seemed to be struggling with recovery after big lifts, I was speaking to a friend who's coaching some swimmers the now and it was his idea.

The boys were breathing hard doing this but said they felt the sessions were worth while, going to keep this up for the next 4 weeks and do a bit of speed work off the blocks.

The routine is 8 reps of the following with a 30 second rest in between each exercise:

Deadlift
Squat
Chin-up-s
OHP
Prowler sprints x 4 25metres at a time.

Really like this. I have had one of my clients doing something similar for rugby off-season. We did a circuit of cleans, rows, bench, front squats and rack pulls, sets of 3-5, with a 30 second shuttle run straight after each exercise. Glad I was the coach in those sessions and not the athlete, I'll say that much.

Agree with Harvey on this.

I think while travelling is a great time to work on the softer side. Mobility, functionality, calisthenics. Especially in Asia seems like a great time to try out some yoga etc.

Just that 'all or nothing' and 'bulk or trim' seem to be a bit similar.

There's nothing sustainable about a bulking phase is there. You say that too many people are all or nothing but you're doing it yourself albeit without any illusions as to the outcomes.

Do you see yourself continually bulking and trimming in phases or do you think at some point you will find something sustainable and stick with it?

I see what you're saying, but I'm not advocating nothing but lettuce for cutting and nothing but pizza for bulking. Perhaps use the actual words "cut" or "bulk" is incorrect. I'm just increasing the kcals ever so slightly in order to speed up the growth phase. I think working in cycles is fine fwiw, as long as you're not overdoing it each way but a lot of people do end up spinning their wheels getting fat and skinny

Update

Just started my new program. Starting to bring volume back down over the next 12 weeks, and ultimately will just be doing strength and power by November.

Throwing in a few training systems to keep things fresh, and it is REALLY intense. The structure is basically as follows

Pyramid set for the main lift, going up in sensible increments until I can't hit 3 reps
Dropsets for accessory lift
Superset two accessory/hypertrophy movements
Straight sets for anything that's left, which isn't going to be much!

So far I've got 180kg deadlift for 4, 90kg bench for 4, 140kg squat for 2, 60kg strict press for 3

Going to see those numbers fly up over the coming weeks. Really happy, and really excited to get it done.

Been eating 90% well and have seen great results with some good gains

Might get this bannered in the studio.

Too many people are all or nothing. They go from nothing but takeaways to nothing but salads and wonder why it is unsustainable. Just do the right thing 9 out of 10 meals, enjoy your food, enjoy your fitness. I think it sounds a little overly dramatic to most people when we say "it's a lifestyle," but it is. It's about making more and more positive choices. Something that your future self thanks you for today.

Really good progress Eso. Some nice numbers there, and that physique is really coming along. How tall are you btw? Judging from these pictures we have a very similar skeletal structure so it will be quite interesting to see what we both look like at <15% bodyfat (although I've just started the bulk so we'll have to wait until at least March to see what I look like at sub 15!)

Thought I'd drop in with a quick update. I've been squatting twice a week for the last 6 weeks and the numbers are increasing niiiicely. I posted my pull workout here a little while back so thought I'd post my leg workout as well, and would love to hear from someone who feels like giving it a go Wink

Squats - 3x 5; 2x 3 - got this up to 130kg for a triple last night. Super happy with that
Box Jumps - AMAP @ hip height
Front Squats - 4x 8
Romanian Deadlift - 4x 8

Then we get into the strict 30 second rest periods.

Split Squat - 5x 10 each side
Good Mornings - 5x 10
Leg Press - 5x 10
Standing Calf - 5x 20
Seated Calf - 5x 20

It felt like my whole body was on fire, but in a really good way haha. Legs have really packed on some tissue with this high frequency nonsense Wink

Lol. No thanks Cheesy

How long does this take? Second part looks like about half an hour of complete hell to be honest.....

The whole thing is an hour's work. The second part is about half an hour of complete hell! Smiley

DUNNIT

I know within the first orbit I had AK and aces twice and I was stuck £130 Wink

I hope we don't lose the faith in future. It has to be hard to back someone who runs like I do, regardless of whether I can actually beat the games or not. Rather be lucky than good and all that haha

See you on payday boys and girls, sorry we couldn't convert this time!

We had a pretty disasterous night of poker. Sat in a great 1/2 game but didn't really get anything going before it broke; left roughly even. Moved to a pretty deep 1/2 game, plenty of action, chips flying about. Got it all in for £400 each with QTs on Q678 versus a loose aggressive button open and double barrel, but he chose this time to actually have hand and held with KK!

Dribbled a little, before finding 98hh on 7h6h6x board versus a very weak cbet and call. Original raiser had QQ, and apparently didn't realise that it's hard to win with that hand, as the turn immediately killed 12 of my outs when another 6 hit.

Very sigh evening. Honestly feel like I might not have brought my absolute 10/10 game to the table, but I lose money in those spots regardless.

Here's the situation for 100% transparancy. I have £200 left, so I'm going to throw in another £200 of my own so 10% now becomes 8.3% but this will definitely be a better sweat than trying to spin up 100bb.

Good luck guys.

Hey guys; it's that time again! They're running non-stop cash games at Dusk Till Dawn starting this Friday evening and finishing on Monday morning.

As usual, the plan is to play as many hours as I feel I'm playing profitably, so I won't just be putting hours in for the heck of it. If the game is bad or I'm starting to flag then I'll cash out until these are not the case.

Any money made on the Party Wheel or any other promotions will be distributed according to your % in the stake.

I'm going to be taking a £1k float. £400 of that is going to be my own. Looking for investors to cover the remaining £600 at spot.

SOLD: £200 / REMAINING: £400
