Hi Tighty,
Not that I have 2 Day 1 seats, but have a couple of questions if you don't mind;
1. If you qualify from 2 Phase 1's, can you play 2 day 1's and potentially take the biggest stack through to day 2? 2. If you qualify from 2 Phase 1's, can you play 1 day 1 and keep your £5300 seat for other unrelated tournaments in the future?
Many Thanks
Jamie.
1 Yes 2 If a player makes Day 2 from a phase sat and has a £5K seat that isn't promo we are happy to go tourney dollars 1. I was led to believe that if you qualify through two phase 1s you will only be able to play your larger stack. Can you really play the big stack first and then crazily gamble a bowl stack on the second day 1 in the hopes of getting more? 2. I think you answered a different question to what he asked. If you qualify through a phase 1 and have a stack of exactly 1mil, your equity will be £5300 (ignoring rake, whatever). If you have any other stack it won't be worth £5300 obviously. A 50k chip stack is not worth £5300. Tighty's answer to the different question makes sense though. It seems fairly obvious with the above said that you will not get any sort of refunds for the question you asked or be able to use the chips for something else unrelated due to equity being different. Thanks both. Is it true to say then that the only reason to try for x2 Day 1 seats, is to be able to play the biggest stack of the two, making the other Day 1 seat and smaller stack redundant?

Not really a poster and can't believe my old log in details still work...
Anyway Tom, really enjoy the diary and having heard that Dick had died, I guess it was because of my affection for the old Luton G and the people that played there. You recalling the old £10 rebuys really took me back with many fond memories and thoughts about how excited and nervous I was when I played each week. I would literally shake when having to take my turn to self deal.
Everyone was like a pro player to me then and some have turned in to real stars in one way or another. The games were ran with military precision and the dealers were great. I remember Dina, Carmel, Mina and Helen.
What really struck me though was how friendly the people were and I remember how cool me and my brother felt when Allan Geddes and Jim McShane invited us for a Chinese meal one week with a few other players. We really felt like one of the gang.
The competitions were fiercely contended but in true Luton style, there was always a thought for the bubble and in any sats, everyone would chip in for the extra seat. Players I remember and lots still play, were Tom, Allan Geddes, Jim McShane, JP Kelly (practicing for the big time), Cockney Dave, River Dave, Edna, Andy Lieu and of course Dick.
I was lucky enough to talk to Dick at the 'new' Luton G just before he died, and we spoke of those times. My memory of him was of how he would chuck a chip in pre flop. on the flop, on the turn and the river, proclaiming 'a thousand' each time. I always chuckled to myself as he somehow managed to win almost every hand using this technique and was mostly glad I wasn't in the hand against him.
Anyway, at the new Luton a few years ago, I was at a table with Dick and I guess either Celtic Vinnie or Jim McShane must have been there, as talk and piss take started about who the best Scottish player at the table was...... In an instant, Dicks eyes lit up, and he started reciting An Address To a Haggis by Rabbie Burns. It was fantastic and my memory is that it went on for some time as Dick could see how impressed we all were.
A great memory for me of a great guy and an all round great bunch that Luton always seems to attract.
All the best
Jamie.

If it's a tourney, one objector = play on and bubble gets nothing.
If it's a satellite, one objector = exclude him / her from the deal and all try and knock him / her out for being and absolute arse.

Assuming you are on the DTD skin, scroll down the moving section of the left - go to DUSK TILL DAWN and they are all in there - make sure filters are off Thanks 76. Didn't see the go left arrow. Was driving me nuts. Cheers Cotter

Defo declare it. I took $9,999 last year as couldn't be arsed filling the form out.
Got a 30 minute lecture on the way in, which led to a whole host of questions and a visit to the customs guy.
He was sound and didn't really even count it.
The first guy said I'd better be certain I had less than 10k, or they'd take the lot off me.
Was bricking it, and chucked loose change away in case they counted that.
Don't give to your wife either, as it's 10k between you.
Where exactly did you "chuck the loose change"? I'm only asking because I once tried the same thing with a 35mm plastic film container full of primo Columbian gold buds, throwing it in a convenient ash-tray when I knew I was about to get searched only to have some smart-arse pick it up behind me and hand it to the customs guys. That was your mistake. No one uses camera film these days.

Hi Nicola,
I have two Italian friends over and they are looking to play at DTD.
Neither is a member and although one has a passport, the other has arrived with some sort of EU Travel card.
Please advise minimum requirements to enter DTD for one night.
Many Thanks
Cotter.

Maybe try and spin $200 up at cash Omaha or something. Loads of loose play and massive pots at the Venetian that time of year at $2 ($5) / $5. The Sats at The Rio are terrible value IMO. Hardly any chips and very fast clocks.

What about limping A9 then back raising. Increddd!!!! AJ would be in an absolute coffin!
This happened to me 5 times a night for 2 weeks in Vegas last year. I snap call all in with AJ.

I see it differently and don't think Alans call was that bad due to the pre-flop play.
You are out of position in the SB and flat a mp opening call. Your range imo is small pair or connectors - not a 'good' ace or any ace for that matter, as you raise pre here. You confirm the range by flatting Alans (good), pre-flop raise. You then shove an A 9 3 board after check raising - fair enough, but you were almost inducing a call here with an over shove.
You played weak out of position pre, then induced a call. For these reasons, I can't blame Alan.
