Can the tower guys get in to serious trouble for little jokes like that?

I would imagine the rules are very strict at the major airports but probably a bit more relaxed at less busy ones.

When I was into simming I knew someone on-line who worked in ATC at the Isle Of Man, and from discussions with him it would seem there could be quite a bit of banter between tower and aircraft.

I guess it's all about them being professional enough to know when's right and when's not right for banter.

I once spent a fascinating couple of hours listening to the Manchester tower on my scanner while staying in a Travel Inn near the airport. There was a major storm and quite a bit of chat between the tower and the pilots of the last few flights of the night that they were trying to get away. It was all quite entertaining if you're interested in aviation.

The last flight to the IoM lined up multiple times on the runway pointing the nose in slightly different directions trying to find a gap in the storms on their weather radar  through which they could escape Manchester. When I mentioned this to the guy I knew he said Manx pilots were under massive pressure not to have flights cancelled because of the cost of overnight hotel rooms for passengers.

Over $800 of mine was in there.

MicrocrooksGaming are Spawn of the Devil in my eyes. They continued to encourage more white label skins through Tusk in an operation that hid the fact that your money wasn't in the hands of the skin you thought you had signed up with. And I cannot believe they didn't know how un-ringfenced our money was in there. They've had their share of our rake while fdoing nothing to safeguard our interests on their network. They deserve to whither and die a very painful death.

And I have nothing but contempt for the poker print media who have hiden their heads up their arses and not covered this in any detail, presumably for fear of upsetting advertisers.

It's a bit sad that a reputable organisation like Ladbrokes moved helter skelter fully onto the Microcrooksgaming network IMO. When they emailed me about a free tenner a while ago I told them to keep it. Won't be contributing another cent to MicrocrooksGaming until they put this right, nor a penny to Ladbrokes while they have anything to do with them.

Commas are not my downfall - the hyphen is the one I seem to use when a semicolon would be more appropriate :-)

would of, should of and whatever people write instead of they're is my pet grrrrr

but capitalization for the majority of posts in poker forums where the poster is not a typist is lol waste of time imo

I disagree. We were trained to read sentences, and the correct use of capital letters is a key part of helping us quickly interpret what a piece is about. Why should forum posts be any different?

You might think it's a waste of your time,  but that's a stance that isn't considering the audience IMO.

So your in favour of them only showing the 2nd half of Liverpool's remaining Champions league games.

Sadly I'm old enough to remember when 2nd half commentary was all we got on the radio. And they couldn't announce which game it was until 3pm!

In a world where sports organisers increasingly bend over backwards for TV, I quite like the fact that Augusta tell the TV companies they can't have the front nine, and that is saved for the spectators on the course.

As a fan of a Conference club who declined to renew my season ticket this season because of the way Satantv devalued it last season with their late shifts of games I have a large degree of sympathy over the power TV companies have and the way they can impact on paying spectators.

But in the case of golf, hours of play are largely dictated by number of players and daylight hours. And I don't think that TV has a horribly intrusive effect on the spectators out on the course, certainly not based on the times I've been to Wentworth or the Open.

Watching every race of Cheltenham & Royal Ascot were others, & every hole of The Open, & The Masters, though the last-named was never possible due to Augusta's restricted coverage.

If it was down to me, they'd lose the "major" status at Augusta until they get their heads out of their arses, join the 21st century and unrestrict the coverage :-)

Maradona is a cheating scum, and that pillock Lineker should have been shot for saying on TV in recent years that he blamed the referee for allowing the goal more than he blamed Maradona for the cheating. How damaging could such a statement be in infleuncing future generations of players to believe that cheating is OK? I would have bounced Lineker out of his job for that. But then if that idiot Blatter spent more time thinking about cleaning up the game on the pitch rather than persistently whining about things he can't really influence (Ronaldo "slavery", Premier League profits etc etc. etc.) we might have a chance of a game with less cheating. I won't hold my breath though.

Chambers now 100% clean? Hmmmm...........I'm no expert, but how can we be sure that his physical condition doesn't still retain some effect from the potions he was taking?

I don't particularly have an objection to him competing in a personal capacity if his body really does have no legacy from the steroids, if anyone wants to invite him to their meetings, but I don't see why he should think he has a right to represent the country.

Thank you for all the comments & questions, I will reply soonest

If you were a band, Tikay, you could release a live album to fill a gap in the studio work.

Is there a diary equivalent of the live album I wonder Smiley

Some people even expect you to showdown on cash tables. At DtD on Saturday night on the .50/1 table somebody 4 bet all-in v my aces.

He flipped his hand over when I called, showing the powerhouse that is KQ, and then suggested I wasn't helping the excitement in the game when I declined to turn mine over until ready to claim the pot after the river was shown.
