I had one of those days yesterday involving the wrath of aces!! Check this out..

Manage to limp into the pot on the BB. Flop shows:  . Guy goes all in , I call, Turn:  River:   

Hand 2# (STT 5 Left)
Dealt 
Im short stacked 4th from 5 and push all in.... One caller  .... Trip Aces on the turn and I missed. Out. 

Hand 3# (MTT 50 Left)
Dealt 
I have around 8k in chips, I raise x4 BB To 1600, Folds to Shortish stack 4.5k who moves all in. I called (maybe should of folded here)He turns over  .... Once again, Completley crippled in chips by aces! Managed to make final table though so wasn't to disheartened!!

And then when it couldn't get any worse...

I have around 3.5k early in an MTT, I minimum raise which is followed by an All in for around 3.5k also. I Move all in, 2 people showdown....

Playing that many tables at once has always made me wonder how he'd come out with a decent ROI. Its nigh on impossible to rely on opponent reads, just the way you play the hands that are dealt right??

I know how ya feel! Ive made the final 2 in a couple of MTT's this week and busted out 2nd every time! The sad thing is 3 outa the 4 times I had him all in, I had the better hand only to see his weaker hand bust mine! Good luck!!

You see this sort of thing quite often! It is laughable!! Some people asume if your holding an ace, you've already won the pot!! I call it ace-itus! Ya see it all the time when someone raises with AK. Thier next move after you've hit your pair/trips on the flop is all in. Some people can never lay down a pretty looking hand no matter whats on the flop!!! Easy Money!! lol

Finished 8th! Bit gutted really, was 2nd but tried to bluff at the wrong time and lost half my chips. Made it to the final table then had my  beaten on an all in showdown preflop by  .

 

No, my estimations on the outs times 4.5 / 2.2 (turn/river)

Im not sure if those estimations are 100% correct. By the sounds of it, Im wrong. I think I read it somewhere in Poker Mag...

I ussually work on the theory of ; My 12 outs with 2 cards to come : 12 x 4.5 and on the river 12 x 2.2

Is that about right??

Im currently 6th with 23k, should make the final table from here. Only a serious cock up should see me go out b4 then!!

Cheers for the advice. I ended up reluctantly folding but currently im sitting in 3rd place with 24k with 30 people left. Looks like I made the right decision this time but I almost called considering the odds were quite even!!

Stupid heat here in Stockport 2! Just went out for a kick about and almost collapsed! Bloody flies and Bugs everywhere an all! Woke up this morning with bites on my feet (No pun please!) by some sorta mosquito scum!! Ahhh they itch! Roll on the winter!!

This is just another example of our wonderful country that Im beginning to lose patience in. You read about these sorta things in the papers every day and if I'm totally honest, It really Fu@ks me off. Its like them 3 lads who were sentenced a few weeks back for a totally unprovoked random knife attack which resulted in a lad losing his life, and the other seriously injured. It was all cought on CCTV Footage which was being show on a Newspapers website. It was a horrific incident and the sentences they got were truly laughable and a dam right insult to the families of the 2 lads. 15 yrs and 2 separate 5 yr sentences for the 3 guys who carried out this sick crime. They'll all be out after 8 years for good behaviour and back to their normal lives. Shame that can't be said about the lad who's life was taken.
England is truly becoming the laughing stock of the world and at times, I'm ashamed to say that I'm a citizen.

Ive gone for Terry also. For me, Terry is a born leader. He has pressence, passion and true leadership. He's the rock at the heart of our defence and I think the rest of the team see him as a talisman. Gerrard however would also make a good captain but if I had to choose, it'd be Terry for me.

I think the rivalry between Scotland & England is great. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Scotts.  If either of us lose, we can't wait to bring each other down which is a healthy banter situation. Im sure if it were the other way round, I would be the first to get on the wind up case. Sometimes people take football politics way to seriously (The incident with the kid for example). Thats just unneccessary but shows what our society is like today.
To sum our performances up as an englishman : We wer'nt good enough, simple as that. Tactics were wrong, players didn't perform to thier full potential and hot headed incidents such as the rooney situation cost us big time! But..... Theres always next time!!! (Seems like thats all we seem to say though! :-( )
