1  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Research into online poker... on: March 03, 2006, 01:22:36 PM
Hi guys... thanks for your help! This forum has definately been the most helpful and we really appreciate it. The experiment has been a success, of sorts... We've had an overwhelming response from male players, and a thoroughly underwhelming response from the girls... We don't need any more data from guys, but do any of you have any suggestions about how to entice a few more female players to contribute?

The results are looking interesting so far, and -hopefully- should be processed in the next few weeks. Then I'll put the findings up here ASAP and hopefully will give some food for thought.

Once again, cheers!

Hi guys,

I'm an avid poker player and so I decided to try to integrate it into my University work... I'm at the University of Warwick (which actually has a fantastic poker community) and I'm studying psychology. For my 2nd year project, two friends and I decided to focus on online poker and the motivations for playing. We've set up an experiment which people take part in online, and my brother, another keen player recommended this community as a good place to find helpful people.... I was just wondering if any of you would be willing to take (literally) one minute of your time to just fill in this form....

I don't want to go into what the underlying thing we are testing too much as this may skew results, but I'll definately come back here and post findings when we are done. Thanks for any help you can give!

Cheers,
George Gabriel
