hope you're enjoying Vegas, my idea of bliss is those OrleansO8 cash games
Hi Simon. Agree, its as relaxing as it can be, hard to win much or lose much at Limit O8 & there are some amazing characters there. On the way back to my room last night after an early exit at GN, I had a look at the Orleans Limit O8 Cash Game wait lists. $4-$8 had 3 tables running & 23 on the list, $8-$16 3 tables & 15 on the list, & even $15-$30 had 2 tables & 9 on the list. The place was absolutely heaving. How's your health these days, has it stabilised? Oh, I shared a few tables with an old sparring partner of yours the other day, I'll be very surprised if you are not acquainted with him. He mainly plays at GN when in Vegas but Orleans too. https://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=r&n=4434He won the GN thing two days ago & I looked him up on Hendon, does very well indeed at stakes up to $300, & has over 300 cashes to his name. Excellent player at those stakes. https://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=r&n=4434His name is Walter Smiley, a very inappropriate name for one who only smiles when he lays a huge slowroll on an opponent who thinks he's scooped. Don't think I've ever seen a worse (better?) slowroller in my life. Has chronic catarrh too as anyone who has shared tables with him will testify, and to be fair, to expectorate into a rubbish bin some 6' distant as he regularly does is a lost art. Not at all a pleasant experience to have him to your immediate left or right, it must be said. Gotta respect his game at the stakes he plays though. I almost feel bad for saying it, but on occasion I've told him to his face & it does not even register with him, he's a thoroughly unpleasant individual. For balance, I don't suppose he's mad keen on me, & it was him that went home with 1st prize so there's that. Health isnt too good, back on transplant list and currently staving off dialysis. Looks like youre having fun at the Nugget. Areyou planning on many WSOP tournies

FFS!
I didn't know the Mad Yank was a mu-diddly-urderer.
Based on the 10 years mentioned he should be due out of jail now too. Yes, he should be back at home now, though where "home" is I've no idea. I was really surprised to see Tom say he was not aware of Mad Yank's misdeeds, I assumed everyone knew. Whilst we are on the subject of poker playing murderers, here's another who is due to be released this year. Tom WILL remember this one though, as he was a DTD regular. The difference between him & Mad Yank was Mad Yank did his murdering AFTER we knew him, whereas this fellow did it before we got to know him. It had not come out on top at the time of course. His victim's head was found in the Nevada desert, but her body was never found as I recall. The US Police said they "suspected foul play". Well yes. The photo was taken after one of the Wm Hill Grand Prix qualifiers - there were 4 of them, & Phil Q recruited me to help out with them. Some fun stories there, especially after one when half of the prize pool mysteriously vanished. Click to see full-size image. |
He made day 2 of APATmain this weekend

Betfair has Conservative seats 100-149 favourite.
They currently have 345
Less than 50 seats is 12/1 currently
Johnson's 2019 coalition involved adding "red wall" Leave voters focussed on Brexit while retaining "blue wall" Remain Cons who saw Corbyn as a bigger threat. Brexit and Corbyn now both "gone" as issues, and the bill for this strategy is coming due...
the red wall is going red again the blue wall is going yellow
I far prefer Con less than 100 seats to more than 200 on 4th July.
I have moved to a coastal constituency which is currently a 20k Conservative majority. They've picked a young Labour candidate who ordinarily would be a no-hoper but they think its neck and neck this time
Sunak was canvassing yesterday in Bosworth, an old constituency of mine...26,000 majority.......normally there would be no need for him to visit there...
great yarmouth?.....always wondered if elections are more interesting in a marginal or swing seat, lived in a safe labour seat all my adult life so elections tend to be mundane

2nd Race - DOOBS had Il Etait Temps as a WIN not e/w (Minus 8.5) - REDSIMON had Found A Fifty as E/W . No points awarded but was 2nd at 13/2
7th Race - Marky147 had Mr Vango as E/W. You awarded a place but it was only a 7 horse race and it finished 3rd (Sky were playing extra place) . Minus 19 . DOOBS as above too.
Sorry guys, but there is money on this.
