Ecosse?
banned from here about 3 years ago Weird chap. Had 2 views. FYP PKR and the Conservative party iirc. Hi All, Still alive and not banned. Tighty is being confused by an incident on the night before an APAT tourney in Manchester where I was runner up and some local nutjob attacked me in the casino after I had cashed out. Was barred for no reason from the Casino. I stand by all my previous posts re :- being an (ex) Tory. UKIP the only way forward for this country. David Cameron is traitor to all tories, SNP are left wing lunatics. As for the poker Still playing, though no where near as regular. Still 152 on PKR all time MTT money winner list despite being a part time hobby player. Have an excellent poker room in my house with a custom table, great fun. Be getting back into the game more seriously soon so hope to catch up with you all. P.s. I also won the virgin poker £50 tourney at DTD so not really a fish, just a hobby player with very varied interests (I.T. Pro by day). Cheers, Dougie.

1 in 5 people now work for the state in the UK
1 in 3 in Scotland.
It's unsustainable. Full Stop.
Thank any god you like that Labour were ejected.

Perhaps someone should telephone ahead to Leverndale Mental Hospital in Glasgow soon.
Straight jacket and less of his pills should suit Mr. Brown to a T.

Thank God for some stability at least.
Bottom line is Labour (new, old, any version) had to be removed.
They've bankrupted the country FFS. (as per usual).
Hard times ahead for all taxpayers to pay for the usual Labour mismanagement.
Only this time on a horrendous scale, biggest debt now since the end of the Second World War.
Coalition makes it more likely of the true state of the finances being released to the countries workers at last.
Unions already lining up for there strikes !, be prepared for the sack you fools.
Dougie.

Ok, I will not refer or quote to previous accurate analysis lol.
Shady situation but TightEnd has been explaining all.
My biggest shock in this election is the fact that in my own constituency (Renfrewshire East), Jim Murphy actually increased his share of the vote to 50. something %
WOW. Scotland will never learn. Labour = Communism = FAIL
Gerrymandering (boundary changes) of course has made this a safe labour seat, check the history of the seat (used to be safest seat in Scotland) for Tory.
Thatcher legacy does live on for sure. I'll be heading to the nearest pub as soon as she pops her clogs.

I've been playing for around 14 years now. Was taught by ex Inverness gold medal winner Wilson Brown at the Piping Centre in Glasgow. Played in grade 3 band for a few years. Me leading 10,000 scots from the centre of Prague to the stadium in 1998. No better instrument when tuned and played correctly. I have a new hero...how awesome is that!!! I think its a cultural thing but it brought a tear to my eye...bagpipes and mince pie suppers...sigh. I will be in Aberdeen for the APAT game and hope to meet you there Ecosse x Cheers Suzanne, LOL I'll dig out and scan in a piccy of the 10,00 behind me. An amazingly straight road all the way from the centre of Prague, great photo.

sorry, still cannae stand them there are a lot of amazing (mental?) stories about troops being led into battle by guys playing the bagpipes during WW2, i think the battle of the bulge was one. i just find the sound an automatic turnoff... I love some scottish music, mainly fiddle and accordian. I can hardly imagine what thousands of hairy-arsed geezers wearing skirts and blowing into a squealing octopus must have looked like to the enemy as they marched into battle. Probably rather unsettling. Most people don't realise the bagpipes only have nine notes, Doe ray me fa so la te doe - in one octave. ( a normal piano has 7 octaves). + pipes have high g The gracenotes, birl's, tarlouths, doublings etc - use all these manouvers in very quick succession. Geo's spot is a truly top class piper. Was never thousands, only one usually. (outdoors the sound of the pipes can easily carry for 2 miles depending on wind etc). The german troops hated it, knew the Scot's were coming.

me:-
Another few days and there will be serious implications for import/export of everyday goods.
Most comes by boat as it's cheaper. I believe asparagus is one of the few things that come by plane. Sandy I wasn't just referring to food / perishable goods. Small parcels / fedex etc and stuff that only comes by plane. Serious implications if things continue... I think inconvenient rather than serious to be fair........ Time will tell, more than a few airlines will also be going bust... 9/11 was bad enough for the airline industry, this has already caused bigger losses (including Rolls Royce, the industry was only starting to recover).

From 2 days ago :-
quote :-
There is, it seems, just one plane in the UK that is equipped to measure the volcanic ash in the atmosphere and make judgements on flying safety etc.
It's a BAe-146-301 large Atmospheric Research Aircraft belonging to Facility for Atmospheric Measurements.
Where is it? Up in the sky?
Nope, it's grounded "with all instruments removed prior to a repaint, and it would take at-least a week to get it airborne and fit for a science flight".
