1  Poker Forums / Diaries and Blogs / Re: Vegas & The Aftermath - Diary on: May 27, 2026, 09:48:35 PM

So, the last poker post.

All those cashes - 11 I think, only 9 of which are currently on Hendon, & around $2,000 in Bounties in total.

https://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=r&n=3265

So my total profit for the trip was....

A LOSS of £984, of which my Staker contributed £492, so I sent him a dividend of £7,508 from his £8k.

All that chirping & I ended up losing money, lol.

I mean, it COULD have been a whole lot worse.

Personally, I could not have enjoyed it more. Lots of table time, lots of fun tables, lots of cashes. The only regret was I cost my staker nearly £500.

And - let's ignore Dr MANTIS as usual -  there's the A thing. What do YOU think when a 77 year old bloke sits down at the table? Yup. He's the mark. Or so they think. Most of them would swap for my end result & would not have half as much fun.

I am the new Eric Dalby. (Though not as schoolheadmasterish). I really don't know if dear Eric is still with us, he was well over 80 last time I saw him, & his last Hendon was 2012. I do hope he's OK, or, at least, resting peacefully.

So that's Vegas 2025 wrapped up, but the memories will last forever, I loved every moment. Most all all, NO RUSHING. Arrived every day 90 minutes early, registered, sent Mr Staker the receipt/seat/table draw, then went & got a Starby & sat in a quiet corner with my book for an hour & just chilled.

A year ago...incred how time flies

I hear our master is heading out to Vegas again tomorrow

What a playa

6 to 8 weeks thats at least two holidays your gonna miss

Asked the question can I fly ? Answer was yes. Just as well as I'm off to Malta on 29th Trev 🤣

Walking unaided atm although with a bit of a limp. Tried the stairs and managed that.

Good man, thats the spirit

Is Tikay the one at the back?

Happy birthday. So nice to see you enjoying retirement.

Thanks Phil.

Honest to God, I'm cherishing every moment of every day, the last 3 or 4 months have been amongst the happiest, most relaxed & enjoyable in my entire life.

It's been over 100 days now, & believe it or not, I've "done something" every single day. Golf, poker (often both on the same day), or Gill & I go to London & elsewhere, stay over somewhere, posh Afternoon Tea or whatever. In all that time only one bad day, which was our weekend in Paris which was totally ruined by a blonde matter & a series of nasty PM's. Thankfully the other Mods came to my rescue & took over the situation. I'm genuinely grateful to them all. (Except Fat Vinni, obv).

The great luxury, of course, is time. All my life I've been rushing, sometimes self-inflicted, sometimes not, but since a child I've rushed non-stop. And now I have all the time in the world. (Well I haven't, but you know what I mean). If I'm golfing, I turn up an hour early & get ready at my leisure, ditto if I'm pokering. What a luxury all that is. And when I'm finished a round of golf, I don't have to rush home to check my Computer for work matters.

Literally, I'm having the time of my life.

He forgot to add "and making a profit from golf"

Only if Moulty does not fiddle the scores...

Nice shooting Ralph. None of our 4 ball played well yesterday. 33 would have won it.

Highlight being Bookie hitting the hotel window....love it

After the abandonment we went to clubhouse and Bookie produced a pack of cards and fleeced us at 12 card brag, he was smarmy and cocky in true bookmaker style

Food was excellent though

You dweebs never paid me (standard) for pancaking the first

Don't talk to me about golf  Angry

We need to know what happened.

My 3-ball retired after nine holes yesterday due to severely inclement weather.

Man up Ralph
