Not sure if this thread is about Nipples, Tits or Blondes. (don't mind either)

But I did bump in to Tikays Grand Daughter today she was looking a bit perky

Evening Mr Nuts

I live in Taunton not much live poker going on, may be a couple of pubs run the odd tourney?

If you want something more serious then as Tighty has said Bristol is your best bet,

I've never really given much thought to how Nike, Adidas & Co make so much money, but yesterday set the mind ticking.

Gill is a novice, but as she starts to learn the ropes, she goes & buys new gear. She is on her third pair of running plimsolls already, & the average cost was £100 per pair.

Running shorts, tops, bottoms etc probably, what, another £50?

Fancy GPS watch, £100.

Heart monitor, £25?

She has probably spent some £500 so far.

There were 700 runners there yesterday, if they all spent the same, that's £350,000. At just one event.

Now do the Fermi thing.

No wonder this guy is smiling.

Seeing the picture of Mike Ashley has just reminded me of another business venture that I'm sure he will eventually do well out of.

Ha, very interesting - will that affect you?

How you keeping these days?

I read somewhere this morning that the USA PGA has the shortest break between years ov seasons of any pro sports - 10 days I think - starting this week again I think?

Doesn't have any affect on me as I work for the other large retailer, but it will be good for them in the short term as DG are no longer trading online due to technical difficulties,
Even though I work for opposition Its sad to see as lots of good people will/could lose their jobs.

As for me I'm good thank you, will hopefully start to play a lot more next season as standing down from my present role to concentrate on more teaching and giving something back to the game with some free lesson for the juniors in the New Year.

The golf season is more or less a rolling twelve months now whether that's good or bad I'm not sure. But I imagine with the amount of golf available to play in  I don't think we will see the longevity of the modern golf like we have with Watson,Player and co.

Hope you are well, and you get to bush the rust of your clubs I imagine that its been that long since you've used them the woods may have woodworm. Wink

I never understand the pressure on former champions to retire.

Sure it's not nice for us to see him hacking around like Flushy, but don't we owe him a free pass for all the enjoyment he's given us over the years to let him make his own mind if he wants to carry on or not?

I do wish the media would stop concentrating him so much when he's playing though.

I want to watch the top players, not James Dempsey.

Why did you "retire" from playing HU SNG's?

Golf is one of the only thing's in life I have been better then average at, but I was never a natural I got down to 2 because I played and practised hours everyday for 5 years.
As available time to practice started to go on other things as I got older and other things started to take priority in life within a year I was at best a 9/10 handicapper playing off 2.5.  I was uncompetitive, it made me moody, harmed my education and relationships so I walked away and didn't hit another ball for almost 10 years.

Now I am not trying to compare myself with Tiger at all but knowing you will never be as competitive as you once were is incredibly difficult to cope with (or it was for me, golf had been my whole life for that 5 years and looking back the only thing I have ever done where I had a huge will to win) but seeing you will never be competitive again is the key, I needed someone to help me see the wood from the trees, lucky I had people around me that did that, I am not sure Tiger has.

Tiger of course deserves the choice and he may have the intestinal fortitude to one day make it back to the top of the mountain, but each week that goes by that seems less likely.

Tiger's knee is obviously in a terrible state or he at least does not trust it, his weight distribution has changed so much from when he was the greatest I am not sure that his current posture/health would ever allow him to dominate again as he just does not deliver the club head consistently to the ball any more and that consistency is the fundamental building block of any swing.

In some ways I have more respect for him now that he still seems to believe and loves the game (you are a long time retired) but I do hope it is for the right reasons as if he carries on this path it will damage his legacy and that would be a shame as he deserves to be GOAT with little debate.

Good post

I blame his Coach

Unfortunately the modern way of coaching puts a lot more stress on the body, if you look at Tom Watson, Miguel Jimenez and even Jim Furyk have had a longevity in the game because they have been taught old school, very much a hands and arms swing which puts a lot less stress on the body, the modern way is all about width, rotating and hitting it as hard as possible.

He has had so much coaching that he has forgotten how to get round a golf course, what his current coach/instructor has him working on god only knows, I can see what his faults are and they wouldn't/shouldn't take that long to fix. Tiger has become fixated by trying this and that for far too long and just needs to go back to basics or swallow some pride and pick up the phone to Butch,,,,,,,,,,, or me Smiley

Golf lessons are a bit like driving lesson, you have lesson’s to pass a test then learn to drive once you have passed your test, golf isn't a difficult game but certain books and coaches make it sound that way so you have to pay them a fortune to sort you out.

Good luck today , keep the good form going.

Thanks David.

Am going to swerve today, it was always likely to be today OR tomorrow, & tomorrow kinda works better.

Explanation on way shortly.

Cliffs - am off the back of, maybe, the most wonderful 4 days I can remember in many a year, if not ever, so today is rest up day. I'll try & do some Updates from Events 1 & 2 for my intrepid stakers first.

Then, Heaven forbid, I took hundreds of photos on Tuesday, Thursday & Friday, & I'm going to post a few. Other folks holiday snaps are about as interesting as Stars Hand Histories, or bad beat stories, I know that, but they mean the world to me, so you'll just have to look away.

I'll play @ Golden Nugget tomorrow ($240 PLO8 I think), then Tuesday will be the last day of my non-poker "holiday", & I'll start the poker schedule proper on Wednesday.

What camera do you have these days tikay?

Since I've been away from Blonde for so long the last time you mentioned cameras I'm sure you were thinking of getting a DSLR but I always found a good Compact Super Zoom does everything I need.

Look forward to seeing some photos from you.  I'd definitely prefer to see holiday photos over hand-histories.

Well my photos do have a certain unique style.

I'm currently using a little Kodak PixPro. I had a similar thing previously, & it was fine, but it just sort of seized up, it would not open or anything, so that went in the bin, with all the others. I did toy with the idea of a DSLR, & Anna Fowler offered me some useful advice, but it'd be wasted on me.

Fair to say, there are some things we have to accept we can never do well. In my case, photography, hitting a golf ball cleanly, drawing a picture, are all things I just have to accept I'll never master, no matter what equipment I use. Fortunately, I make up for it with fashion sense, charisma, & generally speaking, the ladies find me hard to resist when I turn on the charm offensive.

When I retire, I'm determined to master a few of my failures - photography, especially wildlife, (I took some amazing photos of dolphins on Thursday) fishing, & golf.

I know some one who could help with that Wink

Hope you are having a great time and run well.

Thanks Dave, but I doubt even you could help me hit a golf ball cleanly, or even hit it at all.

My hand-eye co-ordination was always bad, & now my eyes are not so good, just to compound it. I swing a bit like Jim Furyk, but I don't hit it much like him.

Am having a grand time, ta, though got a bit of a (non-poker) curly lip today.

I bet I could, I wouldn't be much of a teacher if I couldn't  Smiley

I'm up for the challenge, we can arrange times dates when you get back, FOC of course.

Glad to see you have made day 2 now go and ship it Smiley

49er's offence on the field for 94 seconds in the 1st Quarter and they lead 21 - 3

We've found something worse at tackling than the Dallas defence: the Dallas offence. How long before Jerry Jones phones buffalo to trade for Kyle Orton, Tighty? Cheesy

Can't believe this game is going under ANY line for total points.

It's been a completely mad opening day. Some unfathomable numbers in all games. Matt Ryan, who Fred had for most passing yards last year, threw 448 yards from just 43 attempts. Compelling viewing

Not quite the Doomsday Defence looks like more doom and gloom.

You never know they might bring Troy Aikman back he could still do a better job than Romo.............. Than again so could Tikay.  Wink

.  Sakho however seems to have regressed, and hopefully he can sort himself out and quickly.

Frightens the life out of me whenever he attempts a pass.

Frightens the life out of me whenever he is on the team sheet.
