A good friend,   and THE Man who did more to popularise the British  poker scene than anyone else before him......and so far ...anyone yet to follow.

RIP Dave.

Rob Y ...A maniac business man? ...No, yes? it`s just a matter of opinion... but one thing is for sure, he has done more to promote and push poker further than anyone or any group in the UK in the last 5-10 years.. that`s for sure.

Maybe he approaches it as a business (man) that loves poker... and not as a business that tolerates poker and poker players, as a necessary evil.

.     SCHADENFREUDE....."pleasure derived from the misfortunes of others"  may be a big part of this issue?

Prevelent in English society generally not so prevelant in American society.

Players don`t realise the harm they do by berating other so called weaker players both at the table and behind their backs and from many years of observing this quite often it is the clever berating player who is actually equally poor or even worse playing wise than the player they are criticising! Funny eh.

I Played in games with Kim a lot throughout the 80`s and 90`s in Birmingham,Derby and Notts and if ever there was a true gentleman poker player it was this man.

RIP ...A true gent of the poker World.

Arts IF you can afford it.
H10, about a mile away ...if not.

Keep your wits about you both inside and outside casino and DON`T go flashing any wins around at the casino bars etc.
Take a taxi home late at night or walk back with a couple of friends.
Most muggers operate in gangs of 2-4 and generaly target single individuals or couples so always beware.

Barcelona is safe if you stay vigilant... but you need to take care.

All of the above ...
He was a character, and whilst not "everybodys cup of tea",he was knowledgable and fair and despite many a run in with him, he had my respect and always will.....One tough poker player!

RIP.

NO DEALS.

Yes it sucks IF you are skint..... but play for the win.
Of course there are lots of arguments for and against but..... if from the outset everybody knows that it`s prize money as stated then that`s all good , play a st ratedgy to maximise your chance to win and live with the outcome.

12  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Do you get bored playing live poker? on: November 22, 2011, 03:52:34 PM
Its quite odd. I am happy to travel for over a day to get to Las Vegas and sit playing for 12 hours plus a day all the days I'm there but I just can't be arsed to go to any of the 3 cardrooms in my own City at the moment.
Perhaps mst Vegs card rooms have it right ie customer service games etc and MOST British card rooms don`t ?

Are you a full time pro blonde 17? I see exactly where you are coming from and know a lot of guys with your way of thinking. Not wanting to be an arse but if you look at the guys who have been around a while they all have a similar thinking and have out lasted the gamblers.
Yep...been around a while, grinding out a livin in live games since 1985. Nothing spectacular but... not gone bust either.

I suppose if you are prone to tilt then it might make sense but if you are tiliting to that degree you probably shouldn't be playing seriously

I guess you are right but those that know who I am will know that TILT is not in my vocabulary.
Like I said it works for me but won`t be everyones taste.
