Mrs Red & I are toying with the idea of a far East tour this year but we haven't worked out the best way to do it yet. We're interested in Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand...
We might plump for one of those guided tours that sort everything for you or we might try to do it ourselves. Both options have pluses and minuses.
We are hoping to spend about 3 weeks.
Advice/suggestions much appreciated.
If you are going to go for 3 weeks I suggest you consider visiting no more than 2 countries. From those you listed I would drop Malaysia and research the other 3 and see what parts fit your interests. You could easily spend 3 weeks in any one of these countries and only scratch the surface.

It's terrible
Pacino stinks the gaff up with his "she's got a great ass' nic cage channeling overacting. De Niro wearing a cartoon mask of youth still moves like the 80 year old he is. Any scene where he is doling out violence is unintentionally funny.
Pesci is excellent, but is similarly frail.
The supporting cast are lightweights: ray romumdo is a bizarre choice, Stephen Graham could be written out of the film completely.
It's ponderous, pompous and boring
There's a rehash of the Billy batts shoeshine scene, numerous scenes you've seen before in other films.
It plays likes a gangster version of forest gump, without the charm
lol - I enjoyed it. To each their own.

What I find most worrying is the police just trying to get a conviction and, without any real evidence, not worrying about if the accused is guilty or not.
I think this happens too much with police forces in most countries.
I do not think Hillary was guilty and the process they put him through can only be described as a life changing event for the worse. I hope he is successful and gets fair reward with his law suit.

The Kominsky Method is back!
Series 2, and (at least the first episode) is every bit as good as the first.
Wonderfully well written comedy.

Meanwhile, for those that prefer “cops on the trail of a serial rapist” type series, I can highly recommend Unbelievable (Netflix). Some idiosyncratic acting/actors, but well worth persevering with.
Agreed!

All this bullying about hairstyles is a bit OTT IMO.
(OK, it was only tikay doing the verbals but I know others were laughing)
(I wouldn't care, but it's not as if his follicles haven't heard the old, "Halt! Who goes there?)
Anyway... (I must learn to write without continually digressing. One day they will do away with brackets and then I'll be fecked)
Anyway, It made me think of an old rhyme, although where and by whom I heard it I cant remember.
I used to part my hair down the middle she said it was too severe. So off I went and parted it across from ear to ear. "How do you like my new hairstyle dear?" I asked my Irish Rose. "Oh darling it looks wonderful." She whispered up my nose.
OK, let's be nice to Tom, & suggest he fixes his hair like this young lady. She's the Deputy Chief Constable of Derbyshire Constabulary, & has been appearing on TV regularly giving updates on the Dam problem in Whaley Bridge. I think it's actually rather lovely, & a pleasant change to see a senior Police Officer with a touch of hair attitude. Click to see full-size image. |
Apprpriately designed to allow her to put on a police helmet without messing up her hair!!

Have one on all devices.
I do use torrents, stream movies and have a dodgy sky/by/us cable package, so there's reason for me to have one.
But I would not use public WiFi without one, and even home networks are easily gotten into. For the cost there's little reason to not have one if you do any sort of financial transaction online
So you're saying paid for version, always on? Recommend? I use IPVanish and can highly recommend it. I use it on public WiFi networks and at home when streaming or wanting to read something on a site which is not available to the UK. Some sites will detect you are using a VPN and ask you to turn it off. Otherwise I leave it off.

All this JB finger pointing misses one crucial point for me, it's his turn to hit and he can use his time however he wants. If Keopka or other players think he plays too slow for their liking then it's those players that have the issue. Complaining that someone plays slower than you want them to just looks like arrogance to me.
I think the problem here is that he is using more than his expected time to hit his shot. The PGA Tour and other professional tours have specific time rules. On the PGA Tour, players are advised to have 40 seconds to hit a shot from when it's their turn. That means, after the preceding player's shot stops at its resting place. Players like Koepka are frustrated that officials seem lax on awarding penalties for slow play. BTW, 40 seconds to hit your shot when it is your turn is plenty of time. When a 2 ball takes 5 hours for a round which regularly happens on the PGA tour something is very wrong.
