Just ship it pre and profit in the longrun. As played i find the fold button on the flop.
Theres no way that you can justify shoving preflop...but folding this flop. How much does this flop improve his 5bet hand range? If anything this is a much bigger snapcall on the flop than it is a shove pre. There are now $1473 out there and its $774 to call so you only need 34.5% equity to make this a good call. Even if you take his range down to AA, the other two kings and QQ we have 51% equity. Against what is a more realistic range imo, we're 65% AA,KdKs,QQ,JcJs,TT-99,AdKd,AdQd,KdQd

Well the goal of the tournament is to get all the chips and its hard to win tournaments only ever playing pots with short stacks.
I'm obviously not gunna post my actual ranges but I have no problem mixing it up with another big stack especially on a final table bubble

The river is an absolute snapcall against a good, thinking player. When you check call the flop, check the turn and lead the river, what range of hands can you have? Its all pair+draw hands, or just draws. You never have a full house here because you raise all sets and 2 pairs on the flop so you only ever have a hand that can't call a river raise....unless you know that he knows that you never have much here. Then it gets fun.

I kinda worded that badly but when I say that I'd rather do it with junk, I mean theres just a lot of junk in my range. I'm still 3betting my big hands because there are a lot of overriding factors. We're only ~45BBs deep so not 3betting KK there is a pretty big mistake imo. Also Claire had not been folding to 3bets at all (as it turns out she had a hand every time but I wasn't to know that at the time) so again purely for value.
The idea that the first 3bet should always be a bluff is more of a theoretical thing, but it means that my preflop range here for 3betting is wide, not that it doesn't include strong hands aswell.

What is it that doesn't make any sense? People tend to give you credit and fold the first time you 3bet them, so why would I do it with a real hand when I could do it with junk.
you've got kings here right? Yeah, but I'm not always gunna have the top of my range

vs a player who folds AT face up to a button raise its pretty close to turning AK into a bluff here, even 5 handed, a villian like this is never calling AQ here witht he dynamic that your both clear chip leaders. Im not saying i wouldnt shove, because we can definately get pairs to fold. Online its clear 4bet to induce, live is obv different kettle of fish.
The AT was folded to a 3bet, not an open raise

Just to clear up Claire's AK hand...
I had 450k, Claire had 500k at 4k/8k/800. Claire makes it 24k on the button, I make it 85k from the BB.
At that point theres 117k in the pot. I've gotta be 3betting only something like JJ+ to make shoving there with AK a bad play and suffice to say I'm probably 3betting a bit wider than that considering (a) this was my first 3bet (b) Claire had been raising the majority of pots when she was folded to.
Doing anything but shoving AK there would be pretty awful. Its just a cold deck to run into KK 5 handed and the way the board ran out was obviously pretty gross but Claire certainly did nothing wrong.
Congrats to Michelle, made a real gutsy call with the KJ vs Chara's Q7 and generally played really solid
See you all at the UKIPT!
