Hey all, went shopping today and saw a home brew kit on the shelf. Didn't part with my hard earned cash, but did a bit of research on said kit, and on the whole it got good reviews. This particular one is aimed at the noob looking to brew as easy as possible, but there are more sophisticated kits out there that you can control the flavour etc.
It certainly got me thinking. Home brewing must surely be cheaper than buying cans/bottles in the shops in the long term, but is the flavour as good, and is the time spent worth it?
So my question is, does anyone have any experience with home brew kits, which one did you go for, how easy is it to use, pros and cons etc.
Thanks mate, it was the coopers one. Craigtube made a vid of using it. It's a total noob one, in that its all out the box, even with a tablet for carbonation. What kit was it? iv brewed quite a few so will probably have a decent idea. If you want to do it once, no, its definatly not worth it. Your first brew will probably not be great, and will just be drinkable. And the start up costs with be around 40 quid, plus 13 quid or so for the kit. If you intend on having it as a hobby for the future, (i warn you, homebrewing is highly addictive!!) then sure, go for it. Loads of video's on youtube showing you demonstrations about how to do things. Search for some called craigtube, he has millions of instructional video's. If you buy a kit, search youtube for examples of how people have brewed this particular kit and follow their examples. happy home brew

Yeh wouldn't do this with anybody, not way I'd do it if it was with a brother or family member. Hae seen very very close friends duck each other up, have falsely trusted too many people and in this kind of thing you can never be 100%.
Disagree. Don't get me wrong I have never shared a roll but if you do this with long term close friends, you can trust them not to flee or whatever.

Her ignorance is frightening. I have a 1 year old daughter and have had women, men old and young smile at her in cafes banks, parks and personally it makes my day. What's the harm at smiling at a child?
People with this level of stupidity can't be reasoned with IMO. If you fuel the fire with this pond life they are at an advantage as they are the one with the child.
Ridiculous and totally embarrassing that people can be so dumb.

I think people are getting massively results oriented in this hand and against a crazy aggy player it's a call, he'd easily be doing similar with all sorts of under pairs as well as all combos of AK

Think I'm going to quit online poker.
I broke even in 2012, now I've lost in in 2013.
It's folly to blame variance for so long.
Don't think I can beat it any more, might just play the odd Sunday for fun.
drop down in stakes ?

I honestly can't see how a shove here is good, you're praying you don't get called basically.
Fold pre>peel>3b>jam.
I don't like 3betting either as the size you will have to make it is a large amount, and are you really looking to bloat the pot pop with this hand- doesn't seem good to me.
Peeling is ok I guess but still not in love with it.
