Epic. Feels obvious now looking back, that the army of dead had to be defeated at winterfell (how could you there be survivors from both parties that both make their way down to kings landing?) And a 3 way battle between the dead, cersei and everyone else just wouldn't work would it? But I never saw that coming.
It needed a big ending otherwise you'd be left feeling a little disappointed as they killed off some predictable fringe characters like Ed, Beric and Lyanna M but it was done so damn well - loved it.
I was getting so frustrated with Bran though - do something ffs! Was expecting him to warg into Vyserion and save everyone - or at least use his powers for something! But he just sat there. What was the use of him warging into the ravens? Seems like he was just browsing the battle for his own interest!
Now that the Night King is dead, will Bran still have a big part to play?
So presumably there's very little of the unsullied and dothraki left, so it's all the surviving main characters plus two dragons vs Cersei, the iron fleet and the golden company. Can't wait! And still all the big payoffs to come like Clegane bowl, Jamie/Tyrion/Cersei, Arya/Sansa/Cersei etc etc. What a show.

This ought to be a cracker.
Hope it's the game it promises to be, and Liverpool are back to their sizzling best.
The classic Tikay bok. Did enjoy it though. Carra was right saying that it's impressive that Liverpool are equal top, without any of the front 3 firing and having played Spurs, Chelsea and City. I was expecting a lovren howler all game to gift City 1-0 (and there were two risky moments that could have been pens) he made some crucial tackles late on and it was VVD of all people to make the big mistake. Lucky to get a point I think, even though we did cancel each other out a bit and only 2 shots a piece told the story of the match somewhat.

Community Forums / The Lounge / If primary source of income, are gambling winnings taxable in UK?

Revisiting an old issue here, but can anyone find me any Government literature that confirms that gambling earnings in the UK aren't taxable, even if it your primary income? Just had Dad on the phone who's met a lawyer & ex accountant who assured him that if it's your primary income then you DO have to pay tax on it.
I need something official to prove him otherwise. Thanks.
Even if you could easily evade- morally, should we be paying taxes?

Did it 6 months ago in Latvia, 1500euros and couldn't have better things to say about it. If you're interested I can hook you up out there. Would need a 5 day trip from first consultation to final check.

Smoke Alarm/ Fire Alarm who knows?! It's inside the flat, yes. If you twist it clockwise it comes off the ceiling and hangs by the wires that are connected to it. It's battery powered but there are wires coming from the ceiling that plug into the alarm. If i replaced it I'd have to get the same model so that the wires would match up. And wiring it doesn't look easy either.
Absolute novice here as you can tell!

Just seen fire alarm says replace by 2015. Replacing a fire alarm looks complicated and something I should not attempt on my own. Call an electrician? It does currently function fine and I've replaced battery.
Also, if house burned down, would insurance pay out if fire alarm was found to be out of date?

Butland staying at Stoke then. Steam into the 6/1 to win the Championship. I don't read all the betting threads but every tip you seem to make on stoke is of this nature. For years it seems! I remember last year "put the house on laying Stoke to get relegated" For a clearly savvy gambler, do you reckon you have a blind spot when it comes to Stoke? It's especially ironic given the shit you give Liverpool/Newcastle and probably many other teams' fans for not being able to "see the woods from the trees"! Forgot about all the winning Stoke bets over the years then! Sample size of one losing Stoke bet! Was it a bad lay at 7/1 because they went down or because they should have been a 4/1 shot pre season? Surely we not being results orientated here? Forgot about all the big priced top ten finishes/match betting when they are over priced under Pulis because they were unfashionable. Stoke have been backed from 8/1 into 9/2 in a place for the championship. 3/1 into 6/4 for a top two spot. Would hardly say it is unsavvy. Most of the squad are staying. The money is there to be spent. They are probably richer than every other club in the championship put together. Sounds like plenty of "cant see woods from trees" fan money pilling in
