My passport is valid from march 05 to November 2016
I've been Vegas 2/3/4 times a year since 2005 flying mainly directly but indirectly I've flown via
Ohare Chicago
Fort Worth Dallas
La
San Fran
St. Paul's cinnicinatti
Never had a problem
I've been Miami 3 times Orlando 2/3 times also
The only problem I've had was admitting to taking more than 10 k$ in las year !my advice is if you have over that much to declare it and have bank withdrawal slips
I left in 2010 with 20k$ and returned a week later with it and got away with it

Issued before October 26, 2005       –The passport must have a machine-readable zone on the biographic page.
Issued on or after October 26, 2005 – Each Visa Waiver Program passport issued on or after this date must have a digital photo.
Issued on or after October 26, 2006 – Each Visa Waiver Program passport issued on or after this date must be an electronic passport

You will have the Machine readable passport, therefore no issues travellng to USA.

From further research, it appears that some passports (why? who knows?) issued between October 2005 and October 2006 (MINE) were only MRP and not the digital photo ones that should have been issued.

Thanks for all the advice on Parking.

On a separate note.

Any suggestions on the cheapest way to get to Gatwick for the flight. I dont mind driving myself so its just the matter of parking. Any recommendations on the best/cheapest place to park for 11 nights.

Also,

Travel Insurance. Again, any suggestions or recommendations.

TYVM.

Hello,

Can anyone tell me for 100% sure, if my current passport issued JUNE 2006 is valid or not valid to travel to Vegas under ESTA? Its a machine readable one but not a bio metric one. The photo is "laminated" rather than a digital picture. Ive had contradicting answers. Thought I would ask here 1st before enquiring elsewhere.

Regards.

As long as it's got at least 6 months till expiry I believe it's fine

Yeah, it doesn't expire until 06/2016 but someone put doubts in my head. So tried reading up on ESTA site and that contradicts itself. So confused :/ I was hoping that someone on here had actually been over to the USA with a similar passport whilst ESTA had been in place.

Thanks Tony.

mine expires 08/2015 and is ok and as long as you get your ESTA before hand its all pretty smooth getting in to USA

Happy New Year everyone. Best wishes for 2014.

I applied for the ESTA online and everything went through without problems.

This is what Ive seen from the ESTA site that puts doubt into me.

What are the passport requirements for travel under the Visa Waiver Program?

Visa Waiver Program requirements are:

The passport must have a machine-readable zone on the biographic page.
Issued on or after October 26, 2005 – Each Visa Waiver Program passport issued on or after this date must have a digital photo.
Issued on or after October 26, 2006 – Each Visa Waiver Program passport issued on or after this date must be an electronic passport with a digital chip containing biometric information about the passport owner.

Your passport falls into the first category, so I'm presuming you're ok, but I'm not an authority.

We can only say that we think you're fine, as many have. I think the best thing you can do is contact the authorities directly, and then your mind will be put at rest

HNY Smiley

It doesnt actually fall into the 1st catagory, the 1st catagory is for passports pre October 26 2005. Mine actually falls into the 2nd catagory and this is where the issue is because my passport doesn't have a digital photo.

Ive phoned the issuing authority on several occasions but cant get a definitive answer, just keep getting passed from 1 person to another or told to contact the US embassy, which I have and its just the same with them.

Im going to renew the passport just to be on the safe side but it pains me with having 2 1/2 years left on my current one.

just booked £1978 for 7 days planet Hollywood flying virgin from gatwick  direct on 14th April .....weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Just had a quick look on ebookers and it appears you could have saved over £100 booking thru them.

Lol, nice rubdown!

Not meant to be, but as you have probably noticed, Ive deleted the comment as I dont know exactly what he has booked. In all fairness, that price might be for more than 2 people.

That one's been done before by Tighty, could you not find a picture of George Clooney?

Well that doesn't surprise me, Tighty is the master of the "lookalikes"

George Clooney?Huh? I was thinking more like "Boy George" lol

Only a fool or a fool with more money than sense wouldn't want to do a deal in this situation.

I feel sorry for the 3 of the "final 9" who missed out on locking something better up!!!!

"Greed is not good!!!"

Pinched from elsewhere:

Pete Linton – 376 000 euros
Alban Juen – 290 000 euros
Nick Hicks – 254 000 euros
Gwendoline Janot – 243 000 euros
Jakub Michalak – 236 000 euros
Xavier El Fassy – 204 000 euros

200,000 euros still to play for.

Personally, I find the "live streaming" from the point of the "final 6" to be a bit of an ANTI CLIMAX.

A tournament of this magnitude  (where you would think it would appreciate as much spotlight as possible) only to be streamed from 6 players out.

It is possible that a deal could be done & dusted before it even gets to 6 (although unlikely) It is highly likely that some sort of deal will be done at some point making viewing of the live stream, potentially very short.

Fantastic event, fantastic coverage here (as always) Thanks Tighty and team but somewhat dismayed at the bread & butter stage.

I don't think it was planned to reach a final at 5pm on Day 5 Ken

There studio is not ready to tomorrow, and I don't think it was though ideal to send the players away at 5pm...

I appreciate what you guys are saying but to take into account what has been put in place in just 12 weeks to fall at the last hurdle and have no "live stream table" set up, just in case seems weird.
