Occasional football bet (especially silly first to score sweeps in the pub), but I'm hopelessly addicted to those quiz machine things. Although if I just stuck to the one I can play it wouldn't even be a leak  Smiley

6-4, offsuit or not. I was never a believer until I had the suited variety relieve someone of all his chips... he thought his nut flush was good, shame the suited cards on board were 7-5-3 Cheesy

Now I play it all the time religiously. Any rag flop works wonders.

From genuine hands, probably those annoying middling pocket pairs like 9-9 and 10-10... never sure how aggressively to play them and they cause me more trouble than middling A-x hands.

Least favourite hand overall is clearly Q-9. Never had one before, but then somehow got all my chips in with this in back to back tournaments, and was shown aces both times Smiley

Play as long as you think the game is good. Of course it's a bit hard to tell after one hand (although you ought to have some idea if you've taken even a bit of care over table selection) if the game is good, but poker's all one big session and your decision to play shouldn't change if you've just doubled up first hand or just had aces cracked. Unless you tilt a lot  Smiley

What games does PokerTracker work with? I don't want to go and buy the thing and find out it only handles ring HE when I mostly play PLO8, and if I do play HE it's tournaments...

Anyone know which day one Rob Hollink plays on?

(details are here if anyone cares: http://www.paradisepoker.com/promotions/2005/million_freeroll/)

I got sent this in an email today and thought the payout structure was rather interesting:

1st: $1million
2nd-10th: $10,000

Ten way deal anyone?

Finally gone out... 16th - AK vs QJ.  K 10 9 flop.  Good tourney though, hours of fun for free!!!

Unlucky.

Is there another one tomorrow, or was that the last one?

why are they Hand 4 Hand so early ?

I can only assume they're paying out a minor prize down to 36 (which would be 4 tables at 9/table) or something... but if it's 25 paid the same and nothing else it makes no sense whatsoever...

Jesus, the standard of play on these things is terrible... I never knew A-10 was a hand to be calling a reraise with, and then calling my all-in with on a Q-x-x board.

I had K-K. No prizes for guessing the river. At least he had the excuse that they were sooted  Smiley

I have consistently argued on blonde, and elsewhere, that there is NO REASON WHATSOEVER for online sites to "fix" the cards. It does not earn them any more money, so why should they do it? Think MOTIVE. What IS their motive?

I dunno, I assume if the poker rooms can create more "action flops" they'll obviously create more action and hence more rake, but that would surely be a negligible amount pro rata, and if any fixing got out to the general public, the loss in custom would more than make up for any extra juice they'd take. I agree, there is no motive as long as they're thinking anything other than ultra short-term.
13  Poker Forums / Live Tournament Updates / Re: "Friendly" play in tournament, what is the correct ruling here? on: June 13, 2005, 07:57:32 PM
Either way, as Tikay said, support will know for sure.

Yes. They say they "can see no evidence of collusion whatsoever".

Just a very fishy play then  Huh?

It's funny how you read something, and then you notice similar things happening in your own game... chip leader with half the chips in play minraises preflop, and a shortstack calls, flop comes and the bigstack bets 800, shortstack raises 400 more all in (blinds are 100/200 at this stage) and the bigstack doesn't put in another 400 (out of 8000+)! Needless to say I bubble thanks to the alleged dumpee... and this is only a $3 sit and go!

You notice that, and then later (in the same SNG) you see an unraised pot between the big blind and button, big blind first to act after the flop not checking but folding... and the button conveniently showing aces... how it went from a 10K, 4K (me) and three on less than 2K each to four people with roughly even stacks I have no idea.
