srlsy though have you tried playing on other networks?

'some lag' when looking at what they put on is hardly suprising, let alone is how they deal with complaints an issue.

It just pisses me off they know of a problem yet dont do anything about it or seem to know if its fixed. Stars are fantastic and this is virtually there only flaw but it has happened a lot and every other site would receive a lot more flack for it. I play very little on other sites but this was a standout mistake from Stars, many rec players would have been playing a rare Sunday Million session and you must understand how frustrating it was to expect the lag that has occured throughout the MM series to pop up again. I didn't even ask for my $11 Tongue

<3 Stars forever

I remember reading a Q &A session where one of the reps responded to the lag issue. They basically said that they had the best technology that was available for commercial use or something along those lines.

Got another SPOTY bet which I think could be a bit of a dirty e/w bet.

He didn't win SPOTY the year he won the WDC

He's not popular with many, and a lot of the races aren't on terrestial TV live (which I feel is also an important reason to ignore Phil Taylor. Easy to overlook how many of the voting public just don't watch Darts etc on Sky Sports)

Don't see him winning the WDC, outside bet to get close to it, more likely a winner of a few individual races

Don't really see 50-1 as any value, would want at least double that

I accept its not a stand-out year in terms of events (no world cup/olympics/ryder cup etc)

He didn't win it the year he won WDC was because it was an Olympic year and Sir Chris Hoy had smashed in 3 Gold medals. He did however finish second in that years voting.

Murray could win Wimbledon, if he does it will be on BBC

England should win the Ashes. Alistair Cook is one of the World's great batsmen, going to be an all time great, captain in what used to be a mass viewing sport

Obv Murray is already priced into the market as a massive favourite.

England have won the last two ashes series and a world 20/20 victory. They have had players on the SPOTY nomination in recent years, Cook, Strauss, Swann and Anderson. None of them have recorded anything significant in the voting.

Hamilton also IMO hugely popular with casual fans purely because of his star in a reasonably priced car lap. Top Gear loves him

Got another SPOTY bet which I think could be a bit of a dirty e/w bet.

Lewis Hamilton is 11s on Betfair to win the Drivers World Championship and 3.25 to finish top 3. As I said before I don't think this year apart from Murray there are any stand out contenders. As the rest are a bit boring/semi disliked. If he wins the championship I think he is odds on to make top 3. I also think if he gets close to the championship then there is a chance that he still makes the list and top 3.

He can be had top 3 at 1/4 odds at 50/1 with Corals. Suggest 10 e/w

The thing with Taylor is that the major time he's in the spotlight has been and gone. The year he came second in SPOTY he also hit those two nine darters in the Premier League final. Unless he does something similar this year he's got no chance.

The thing to do here is watch the Premier League and if he does something similar do the SPOTY bet right then, before the price moves. As it stands it cannot be a bet.

The reason i suggested the bet now was because its before all the other major sporting events. When you actually look at the names above him in the betting there is only an Andy Murray Wimbledon win which is actually a major achievement. When Chris Froome gets 3rd in the TDF its not going to win SPOTY, when England win an unexciting Warneless Ashes Cook isn't going to win, when Farah pulls up half way through the London marathon he isn't going to win.

It doesn't matter what Taylor does between now and the end of the year he has already won a record breaking 16th title that for me stands out. Which is why I think even at 33/1 it is a massively wrong price.

Bit of a Banzai here and time for my SPOTY betting.

I was doing a little playing around and thinking who were going to be contenders this year seeing if there were any early value in the market. A name that for some reason the odds compilers are totally overlooking is Phil the power Taylor. He has been nominated twice in 2006 and lastly in 2010 where he finished 2nd. The reason he hasn't been nominated in the last two years is he has failed to win the world championship which he did this year.

Personally I'd make him leading the group behind Andy Murray purely for the fact that he has already won the world championship, has past voting pedigree and all the other contenders are a bit meh.

He is available on Youwin at 50-1 which I suggest having a tenner on If you don't bet with them then other firms have him at 40's which is still huge.

To add some context to how badly the odd setters in this market are Stan James have Joe Root at 33's and the Power at 40's

I watched the last few hours when the game was pretty damn deep and not many coolers. From a viewers standpoint I think it would be nice to see an ante introduced.

Its not that he might or might not have an 8. If we C/R we are only getting called by hands that have equity against us and there are so many dirty rivers. We aren't C/R folding and he isn't going to bluff jam the turn, so by jamming we are forcing all his drawing hands to make a mistake against us.
23  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: First World Problems: NLO215 on: February 16, 2013, 03:47:22 PM
I think checking the turn is a major mistake and the check raise isn't big enough. More I look at it I think if your going for the c/r line then you should just jam and make him make a mistake with a2 with a FD or something like 8245. I don't think we ever induce bluffs from a competent reg by making it 1000 and there aren't actually that many nice rivers for us.

This is a really tough river spot. I think bet something like 480 to induce or check to induce is the best line.

After looking at US presidential betting I stumbled across this market

http://www.oddschecker.com/specials/politics-and-election/julian-assange/how-will-he-leave-the-ecuadorian-embassy

It could be locking up money for a long time but surely max bet on UK Police car at 11/8.

He has given a two finger salute to the British judicial system and wasted a load of taxpayers money on it. I can't imagine for one second that the British Govt are going to let the political superpower of Ecuador embarrass us on a global scale. The second he steps out he is straight into Police custody.

I'm living in the Philippines at the moment. You should be able to find a studio condo in Makati for a month for about php30k.

As Woodsey has said Manila traffic is horrific. However during the night from say 8pm to 6am in the morning the roads are deserted and a taxi from RW to Makati takes less than 10mins.

If your just coming out for a month I would suggest getting here and then deciding what to do. Manila is an awesome but crazy city. Explore it and find which part suits you best. If your there to grind the live poker then your going to want to be closer to RW. If your looking to grind online and be near nice bars then your going to want a place nearer to Greenbelt in Makati.

I think i'm gonna be hitting a few of the sides at the APT if you wanna grab a beer lmk.

Should be an interesting announcement.

I keep on changing my mind about who I think is going to win. I think Ennis makes the top 3 though.

The rake is no higher right ? £99 and £3 jumper thing doesn't really make any sense, assuming the rake isn't 33x higher than normal, seems a fair assumption to make. Loads of people play them because they know loads of other people will be thus huge prizepools, pretty simples, not really sure what there is not to like.

The rake on the Sats is Ridic. Must be a gold mine for them.

I asked a lot of questions, including:

What gives them the right to omit poor people?

Is access to culture only for the better off?

What happens if I refuse to pay and enter anyway? Will I be arrested? What would I be charged with?

Understandably, I didn't get any satisfactory answers from the box office clerk or the security guard, but I did get a lot of murmured support, and even a smattering of applause from those waiting in the queue behind me.

I fully agree with you that in an ideal world Stonehenge would be free to visit. The decision would have been made many pay grades above both employees that you brought the matter up with. For someone who has worked both front line in the service industry and someone who makes the decisions It's not very nice when you are getting abuse over something which you have no control over and on their salary they would probably agree with you.

The problem with these situations is that its a no win for everyone concerned. You have got yourself worked up and would be in a bad mood for a few minutes. The people behind you will now have to wait longer and it might rile them up even more and the next people in the line start questioning the policy getting themselves worked up. So the queue is slowed down more. Meanwhile the poor cashier who has no part in the policy making is left with people who ultimately blame him/her for something which they played no part of.

Sometimes its better to just move on without saying it and if you think strongly enough about it you can always write a letter to the person who made the decision which might actually make a difference.
