Hi guys

We have never done 500 BB. Our formats went from :

10,000 chips start at 25-50

15,000 chips start at 25-50

20,000 chips start at 50-100

30,000 chips start at 50-100

To the current format;

50,000 chips start at 100-200 25 ante

The last option gives the highest BB average per level which our computer system tracks - it's conclusive this is the best structure we have every tried.

However, the Grand Prix's always plays 'tight'' because it's such big money/golden chip prizes at stake V the buy-ins and so many seats won for small investments in pennyrolls and feeders. If we have 500BB or 40-60 min clock - I am sure many players would not join until the later levels and it could not be finished in 2 days with 2000 entries. I think making the Grand Prix a 3 day event with deeper stacks/early levels/longer clock would not be in the 'spirit' of this particular tournament as it's aimed at the majority of players that have jobs/families/etc to find time for.

48  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: UKIPT London v GUKPT Luton on: October 17, 2014, 09:51:03 AM
I can confirm that when we removed re-entry from DTD tournaments our unique numbers plummetted for that 6 month period and it was a huge gripe with players. Whilst Rob is against same day re-entry I am actually in favour of what I call 'Limited Re-Entry' where is a player busts in the first 60 minutes the player can re-enter. This deals with the gripe of 'I've travelled 300 miles and had AA cracked all in pre flop'. However, as with anything in poker, the market will decide over time what the right balance is.

In terms of GUKPT V UKIPT, I have played both and I view them as different products, I feel GUKPT and GPS have a more local feel and for some players who cannot travel round the tours, they are their 'local championships', where as UKIPT is much more of a 'Tour'. I would play both if I had the time, I like the UKIPT because of the professional feel, it's like an 'event', but I also like the GUKPT because it reminds of my playing days and there is something nice about playing a smaller field where you know most of the players.

In terms of the tournament reg fees, being on the other side of the fence now and understanding the costs, I am happy with 10% reg fee either on top or from prizepool, as long as the tournament has a decent gaurentee and the staff are friendly, which both of these events are.

On another note, live players have an amazing choice compared to when I was playing full time, when I hear pros / circuit regulars moan, I can't believe how easily we forget so how things used to be, the facilities, choice, structures, added money/overlays, opportunities to qualify and guaranteed prizepools are amazing in the UK nowadays for live players.

50  Poker Forums / The Rail / Next Week - Free Buffet at DTD Mon - Thu 7pm to 8pm on: October 08, 2014, 09:51:35 PM
Hi, next week we are doing a Complementary Buffet by our resident chef Gizmo Singh 7pm and 8pm for Monday to Thursday tournament and cash game players, when you register for the comp / cash game you will receive a buffet token and off you go. This will be in addition to Jon Kalmar 's Cash and Curry night on Thursday. Whist late reg is convenient for players who get stuck in traffic or have a early eveing prior engagement - we want to get a few more players in at the start of our weekday comps + a cash game started so we are trying this free buffet incentive next week to see if we can get at least get 50% of the field in at the start, instead of going home to eat you can now nip into DTD early for some free grub! WPT 125 CONFIRMED NEXT 2 WEEKENDS AT THE CLUB

Good luck to everyone who plays the WPT 125 Day 1 Turbo at 1.30pm (LR 3.15pm) today.

We have our DTD Pub League Finals with 250-300 players at 2pm on the next two Sundays and it was looking unlikely we would be able run our WPT 125's over these 2 weekends, as well as being a tight for space so many blow-in dealers are working at the UKIPT/EPT, BUT the good news is that Danny has managed to ring round get extra dealers so that we can also run the WPT 125 Day 1 Turbo and Day 2 at the same time as we deal the Pub League Final,

obviously we can't do the same numbers as the last 2 weeks so it will be £25,000 (inc 10 x WPT 500) seats with £5000 + WPT 500 seat for winner.

 IMPORTANT TIME CHANGES: This week's WPT 125 Saturday and Sunday start times are having a tweak (see image attached) to make them more player friendly:tweaks are ;

1. Saturday afternoon Day 1 at 1pm which will finish at 7.40pm for those players that need to take the Mrs out on Saturday nights!

2. Saturday evening Day 1 moved to 6pm (late reg 10.40pm to give a more sociable earlier finish of 12.40am

3. Sunday turbo day 1 start time moved to 1pm (late reg 3.15pm) allowing us to start Day 2 earlier at 4.30pm, unless the final table plays super tight (can't control this il afraid - depends on who makes the final) the tournament should finish 1am to 2am. I believe this is really important.

NEW TUESDAY 8PM COMP....Okay guys, coming into the winter period we are going to add some variety each week to our regular tourney schedule to try and appeal to as wider audience as possible. As we know poker players preference are often difference and our target is 'something for everyone' over the coming months. We have consulted with some of our more 'gambler orientated DTD regulars' and he has agreed to put on this fun comp next Tuesday 30th September, Fast and Furious £20 UL Re-Buy with a £6000 GTE (Inc 2 x WPT 500 Seats), we will run the XXL 15 aswell for those players that don't like a UL RB format.  Cheers Aces Link herehttp://www.dusktilldawncasinonottingham.com/result-info.php?id=0&name=20-fast-furious&eid=44028

Wish I could do something about the roadworks guys......

IMPORTANT CHANGES FOR DTD REGULARS, next week, as well as doubling the WPT 125 GTE to £50,000, I have reviewed the weekly regular club schedule/assessed feedback and made some tweaks;

1. Afternoon 3pm Day 1 added for WPT 125 for those players that don't want a late finish and Day 2 moved to 6pm start on Sunday and Day 1 Turbo moved to 2.30pm.

2. Sunday to Thursday XXL 15's changed to 15 / 20 min clock (20 mins in final) so that players can get to work in the morning with a decent night's sleep - estimated finish time is 1.30am. XXL Fri/Sat Giants remain and 20/30 min clock.

3. Afternoon XXL 15's added at 3pm Saturday and 2.30pm Sunday for players that want to have an afternoon game (will review increasing the GTE's depending on attendance)

4. WPT Main Event Satellite added on Sunday's at 8pm (will experiment with this time). 3 x £3000 Seats GTD. We need 10 runners to start this satellite! I am hoping with 200+ players in building for the 2.30pm WPT 125 Turbo / Day 2 we will have enough liquidity to run this as players bust out etc

Trying to please everyone is not easy, I have tried to do my best.

Club Regulars, attached below is next weeks club regular schedule, please share with other club regulars;

1. WPT 125: We have DOUBLED the GTE on the WPT 125 to £50,000 (Inc 20 x WPT 500 seats), the winner will receive £10,000 plus a WPT 500 seat. There is a Saturday afternoon 3pm Day 1 for those players that want an earlier finish.

2. XXL 15's: Following the success of the Turbo's at the Club and requests from players to have an earlier finish on 'school nights' (Sunday to Thursday), we have 'turbo'd the XXL 15's so they should finish between 1.00 - 1.30am, for those of you that dont mind a later finish, we have ADDED 2 extra XXL 15's on Saturday 3pm and Sunday 2.30pm, aswell as retaining Friday and Saturday XXL 15 Giants, all with 20 min clock.

There is now something for EVERYONE at the Club on a weekly basis, whether you need to be up for work in the morning so need an earlier finish Sun-Thu, or you can only give up 1 day on weekends (play online Day 1 or Turbo Day 1), or prefer a longer well structured comp like the 125, and of course those of you that like to play for a much bigger prizepool that gives £10,000 to the winner.

Why did the 3k sat go from being 3 seats guaranteed to 2 seats guaranteed today?

Because the last 2 weeks have been 3 seats GTD for the Sky £3k high roller (with the option to use for WPT in November if players cannot make the £3K Sky High Roller). For WPT only we are starting with 2 seats per week and hopefully building this higher as we get nearer the event, as usual.
