Some great Best quotes......

So George, where did it all go wrong?
The hotel bellboy who delivered champagne to Best's room and found him entertaining a scantily-clad Miss World on a bed covered with his winnings from the casino.

I've stopped drinking, but only while I'm asleep.
George Best provides some dark humour about his addiction.

The only thing I have in common with George Best is that we come from the same place, play for the same club and were discovered by the same man
Norman Whiteside.

I think I've found you a genius.
The telegram sent to Manchester United by talent scout Bob Bishop, who discovered a 15-year-old Best playing for Cregagh Boys' Club.

I once said Gazza's IQ was less than his shirt number and he asked me: "What's an IQ?"
Best on Paul Gascoigne.

I'd give all the Champagne I've ever drunk to be playing alongside him in a big European match at Old Trafford.
Eric Cantona impressed Best.

In 1969 I gave up women and alcohol - it was the worst 20 minutes of my life
.
George Best - ever the joker.

I was in for 10 hours and had 40 pints - beating my previous record by 20 minutes.
Best on the blood transfusion after his liver transplant.

He's not George Best, but then again, no-one is.
Commentator Clive Tyldesley.

I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.
Best on cash.

Utter bellends. Why does it not start till Thursday!

They have to debate it in the commons Stuart and plus we need enough time to stock up on toilet roll ...

Works for us....gives us time to  operate “ normally “ for a few days whilst sorting out staff/ clients/ going online for a month.

For restaurants/caterers etc , also gives them time to use up what’s in the kitchen!

Two bets to suggest ahead of the Eifel GP.

Race Winner - Lewis Hamilton @ >EVS -  basically always happy to take >EVS on Lewis to win from second place. I am slightly concerned that he was a little bit sulky yesterday after qualifying, but on the flip side mixed conditions are likely today and that's where Lewis really shines. Suggest 10 points.

Top Six Finish - Lando Norris @ 6/4 - McLaren were disappointed at qualifying 8th & 10th yesterday, and both drivers complaned about their set-up. However what I'm seeing of the car on track doesn't really correlate to their comments which is a bit confusing for me. That car looks very dialled into the circuit - particularly with rotation at the front end. If we do get mixed conditions, that should play into the team's hands, so 6/4 is a small bet here. 2.5 points.

- Hamilton did win the race, aided by Valtteri Bottas retiring.
- Sainz finished top six fairly comfortably.
- Norris looked likely to finish top six until his car gave way.

2/3 bets won for a decent profit overall.

 Extremely sad news.

Watching the WPT with his commentary was such an enjoyable influence in getting to know and love the game.

 RIP Mike

I have been looking through the F1 markets all week ahead of the Hungarian GP this weekend, but contrary to my expectations everything seems well priced.

The only place I feel like we have an edge is the following:

Practice One Winner - Sergio Perez @ 14/1
. This race is critical in determining how the rest of the season will play out. Racing Point are quick, but they've yet to fulfill their potential and I suspect they may be quicker than Red Bull right now. Having said that, Red Bull should also be much closer to Mercedes this weekend (without ever really challenging them) on the downforce dependant Hungaroring - so the battle between those two should be close. Anyhow, the possibility of Mercedes and Red Bull sandbagging in first practice, coupled with this bet being offered on EW top three terms, makes this price appealing. Suggest 5 points EW (1-3 1/5).

I will continue to review the markets as the weekend plays out and let you know if I spot anything else.

Perez finished 3rd in FP1, so that'll be settled at 14/5.

Nice little profit....thanks.

41  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Grosvenor - Accounts locked for making deposits To cover GUKPT buyins on: June 20, 2020, 10:02:32 AM
This is beyond a joke now.   Account still locked with no access to the funds I deposited and missed most of the GUKPT event.   Spoken to their customer services and their ‘customer team’ has said they’ll call me the same day to resolve but the call never comes.    I’m starting to get very annoyed ....  joined GG yesterday and went through the full verification process in < 3 hrs.

Grosvener are totally oblivious to the consequences of just locking accounts like this - I could quite easily been coming back for day 2 of the 500 last Sunday and would not have been able to play .... I could have pre reg/ won sats  for games and not been able to access the account to play or cancel the reg.    Customer services also just refused to escalate to a formal complaint (as it wouldn’t do any good because they’ll def call me today .... like they said they would on wed)  😡😡😡

Anyone know the name of the online poker manager ?

Have you tried contacting either Jeff Kimber or Rick Trigg on Twitter? - they are both Grosvenor pros.

Yes on Twitter Jeff and Joe are aware and on it.

If you were bored and opposing 8/11 ish 2yo superstar Pinatubo each way for some sport this afternoon, how would you do it?

How much does having a high draw matter (yesterday having the rail seemed to be a big help)?

Might have a fiver e/w (1st 4 with beteveryday) on Kinross at 18/1. If high draw is an advantage then 12 seems good. Won well over 7f here.

I do wonder if the media & politicians live in some kind of bubble.

I was very surprised when Laura Kuennsberg opened with a question about Cummings.
In a moment when D J was talking about easing lockdown, which all of the UK cares about deeply, & on the day Track & Trace was launched with some issues it seemed like a wasted question.

Yeh couldn't believe she opened with it...especially knowing Boris isn't doing a follow up question. Maybe it was her trying to balance the recent Twitter frenzy that " LK is so pro Cummings"
