Believe Tom Dwan is losing/knocking it in at a decent rate also Tikay.

Pretty sure Galfond once did a piece saying that Hansen is the reason the nosebleed cash games still exist.

On a side note, the thread title reminded me of this,

Norm Duke, one of the greatest tenpin bowlers ever (the best in my opinion), ripping it up with a cool bit of gamesmanship in the final of a big tournament. Relevant bit is four minutes in.
So good. Was loving watching that ;-)
78  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Uber aggro Jake Cody play EPT London. on: October 22, 2014, 11:03:06 PM
http://www.pokertube.com/videos/ept11-london-main-event-final-table-live--part-5

Spent a good twenty minutes watching this hand (39mins in) with YOYO today as it really interested
both of us. Haxton chips in with some useful insights in the commentary too.

Using Equilab we finally decided on a range for Macphee shoving V's Cody's Button open,
and decided/settled on 13.88% 55+, A5s+, KQs, A8o+, KQo. Which gave us 40% V's this range
and this as Haxton also points out would be the minimum amount needed to call. "Sort of close but I don't think Cody can call here"

So the odds are close as Cody is getting 1.5-1 although Macphee had not been that out of line so far and with the stacksize it seems
unlikely he is at this point add into this the ICM considerations.

Now I pointed out that Cody appears to read him as not so strong when he smiles and says "Very serious"
so maybe he thought he could discount the better hands from his range. Ran this and took out AA, KK, QQ, JJ, 1010, AKS, AKo, AQS.
This only changed our percentage to about 43% v's that range where we took out these hands after considering that he did not look
as comfortable as he would with any of these hands.

Would love to here peoples views on this and any floors in the thinking here.

Only played the Alea game myself. Seemed like a decent place to play from my experiance.

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”

From my perspective you have improved a huge amount in terms of the mental game of poker.
Did send alarms out when you posted about not hitting like a new player although I was all but certain that
was a level. You have appeared to be much more grounded and always appeared to be shall we say
#lovingthegame.

Now to me it seems that you could have pushed harder to work on one aspect of your game rather than
flirting between cash and tournaments. See you as a highly capable tournament player just my opinion though.

And good luck with the new job just remember to spend time as constructively as possible on whatever it is outside
of the coming work that you wish to do. Don't get bogged down mate.

See you next week x

Alex mucks, Sean wins pot £1006.

Love this hand! Belton is the best.  Also, it's really hard to win with a Queen and a Queen
Think that's his point should still be getting it in with like 11% equity and
getting there. Variance hey.

who is the guy?

do you have a birthday coming up? maybe ask for it as a present? or agree with parents that if you get x grade they give you 4 hours or something.

Just ask this guy no arguments then.

87  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: max players at a table question NLHE on: September 24, 2014, 02:23:02 PM
Just play in heats then you can keep the table numbers down. Really wont be enjoyable with more than 8 sat down in my opinion.
People will lose interest with so meny players. Legs/heats defo the way to go.

The interview with Lex Veldhuis was very good imo, well worth a watch. Talks about his crazy image, transition from starcraft to poker, shot taking on the high stakes poker televised game vs Ivey and transition/general state of the games online NL vs PLO

guy is a douche

Didn't get that vibe from the interview but each to ones own I guess!

Really interesting esp 30mins in talking about MTT Wizards. Had a guy just like that on a table with me
in the GPS zero social skills and just basically like they say the nut low. Tank top is not good though. Would say he definitely does not come across as a douche imo either.

I made his goal 80bbs harder
this.
90  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: HEM or PT? on: September 17, 2014, 12:05:27 AM
Very recently switched from HEM (albeit HEM1) to PT4 and I think its much better
This PT4 has loads of great features. 100% go with PT4. Really easy to setup also.
