Many thanks to Tighty for some great updates here and next door.

Also many thanks to DTD who ran a superb tournament as always, all the dealers and staff were fabulous.

Lovely weekend.

Confirmed level until link.

However I do fancy a nice battered sausage and chips now.  Maybe a pie as well.  Damn subliminal advertising.

Hi

Just started grinding the 180s on Stars and I just want to see if I have this range right.  I'd be calling here with QQ+, AK.  Too tight/too loose?  Does the UTG open change anything?  Final two tables of a turbo $8 180 so all ITM.  Sorry no reads on any of the other players.

Poker Stars $7.34+$0.66 No Limit Hold'em Tournament - t800/t1600 Blinds + t150 - 8 players - http://www.handconverter.com/hands/2257571
The DeucesCracked.com Hand History Converter

MP2: t19733   M = 5.48
CO: t29642      M = 8.23
BTN: t13199        M = 3.67
SB: t7677      M = 2.13
Hero (BB): t14299   M = 3.97
UTG: t37254   M = 10.35
UTG+1: t22887   M = 6.36
MP1: t6768      M = 1.88

Pre Flop: (t3600) Hero is BB with As
UTG raises to t3200, 1 fold, MP1 calls t3200, MP2 raises to t19583 all in, 3 folds, Hero Calls all in

I highly recommend The Bugle podcast for both satirical and surreal comment on current affairs.

Spoke to Sanjay on Skype.  He's asked me to post here for him as he can't post.

In.  Either send me Bank Dets, Stars name or we can put it on the slate and I'll settle up when you're back mate.  Completely your choice.

The thing that I find really illogical about the whole thing is he's getting pretty much the same jail time as he would get  if he only committed the most serious offence.  However had he done that one, been caught, then done another and been court he would spend a longer total time in jail albeit in two spells.  It's like the others are freebies.  Just makes no logical sense.

All the facts are contained in

http://www.crimeline.info/case/r-v-stuart-hall

Gives the background, mitigation and policy behind the sentencing rather than wild speculation.

Yes I've read it.  I'm not necessarily saying that the Judge did anything wrong with the options in front of him.  I just think the fact these sentences run concurrent is wrong, a problem within the legal system rather than this judge's ruling.  From a personal point of view I don't think his age should have come into mitigation.  There are arguments for child's age to be considered in mitigation, not for an elderly person IMO.

Called it.

And an absolute travesty IMO.

We need to stay the f*ck out of this. Its Shias v Sunnis again. Getting in the middle of it is akin to a do gooder getting in the middle of a vicious husband/wife argument where they both turn round n have a go at the do gooder.

I also like to think if the rats metaphor from Skyfall. Leave em to it and mop up the pieces when they're done I say.

...and the innocent people being slaughtered?  Same as what happened in Rwanda and Bosnia for several years before we got involved.

Not saying the answer is for military intervention by the West, but standing by and watching the murder of innocent men, women and children isn't right, is it?

This.  You can also can Cambodia and Zimbabwe to that list IMO.  The problem isn't intervening, it's intervening in the wrong way.  To ensure stability in a foreign country it requires vast amount of investment in the infrastructure, resources, troops, a plan to be counted in decades rather than years and a combination of wisdom and dumb luck to find a just, fair and capable provision government.  The West have the resources, but lack the cooperation or inclination to do any of this.

Merely a placeholder until the real pros get here but I'm 100% ok with how you played the hand.  Don't mind treating this as a bluff catcher on turn and river.  The board runs out really naughty for us.  I'm defo not folding the turn if bet to and the river, well, might find a hero call if someone bets or might fold it.  Would be very live feel dependant.

It's looking calm on the Thames outside.  Good sailing weather.
