Ford misses dolly blue into middle, Trump clears to pull back to 3-5.

The missed blue in 4th frame was painful. Had bet 0-4 for the mini session @ 40/1 šŸ˜¬

7 frames in. Bingham's rest pot success rate = 55%

How many rest shots did he have to play in total to get that stat?

9?

I had a short list of qualifiers, a shortlist of vulnerable seeds and one matched up at the right price

Williams or Hawkins to get turned over?

I was expecting to see a Tighty snooker recommend when I checked in today.

Most of the Top 16 have been installed as comfortable favourites in Round 1 of the World Champs, but most of them donā€™t look anything like 1/3 or 1/4 shots to me. The qualifiers not being best of 19 this year means they donā€™t arrive as ā€œwarmed upā€ as usual, but expect to see a fair few ā€œshocksā€ again as has become the norm in recent years.

Very impressive, 50km in one go is brutal!

Always in awe of the ultra runners.

Ed Hollis was his name, that was some manic reading back in the day!

88% or something?

Fair to assume Tiger Roll won't be completing the hat-trick then. Probably finishes a gallant second to a 50-1 shot. Not many will back him each-way at that price. Complete skinner for the bookies and plenty of Ā£Ā£Ā£Ā£, to add to last week's wonderful round of appluase, for the NHS.

And you would lay Death Duty all day long. No way they let that win!

This is what i have been trying to find data for the past few weeks. I had found the ~1700 daily deaths number for UK (normally) but been hard to get a sensible estimate on what the actual uptick is / is predicted to be.

This is a biggy for me, have resorted to playing Greyhound Manager 2 for my fix.

Love this. Never actually played it, but have put some time into Stable Masters / Starters Orders over the years.

Maybe lacking people in the Champ Man fan / Echo owner niche here then Smiley

Anyway, v1 of the game is publicly available now if anyone wants to check it out. Link below or just say "Enable Soccer Manager".

This one might be more relevant now people are sat at home missing sporting action  Cry

I have put an update out since to sprinkle some red cards into the match engine mix.

And if you can manage a "heavy" read, here's a report by Imperial College which scares the life out of me. In the absence of MANTIS I need someone solid & sensible like The Evil Pie,  Dooobs, JonMW or Science Wife to poo poo it to make me feel better.

If you want to make it easier to read just skip past all the numbers and tables and the like.

If you just stick to the narrative that's in fairly standard English then (I think) it's fairly easy to 'get'.

You might not like it after you 'get' it - but there's not much we can do about that.

The 'normal' way of dealing with flu pandemics will overwhelm critical care and lots of people die.
The 'other' way of dealing with pandemics will probably overwhelm critical care and lots of people die.
The 'best' way of dealing with this pandemic is to alternate the other two ways and critical care might not get overwhelmed. Lots of people will still die though - just not as many.

What i couldn't work out here is what they think the incremental is going to be.

500k deaths sounds massive, but a quick google suggests the usual number for UK is north of 600k. Similar probability increases based on age and health problems too.

Clearly want to keep the numbers as low as possible, but as mentioned elsewhere here, there could also be some brutal short and long term effects of an economic meltdown.

Thanks for this. I read Shadow of the Wind towards the end of Uni and remember enjoying it. Had no idea there had been follow-ups since though, so will check those out now.  thumbs up

Just finished book 4 and I was sad that I'd finished and happy that I could read it again. I can't remember feeling like that about a book.

I'm going to read the Prince of Mist next which is the first book in the Niebla series by the same order along with a Monty Don book and the autobiography  of Stan Ternent. I'll also begin the Cemetery books again at some point.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the series Jamier.

It's been so long i decided i need to go back and read the original first! Got some travel in a couple of weeks so all set for the flights.

The Snooker Shootout lottery is back on this week(end).

Ronnie is playing for the first time in a while, which helps somewhat when heā€™s installed as a ludicrous 10/1 favourite.

Iā€™m certainly not going to recommend anyone in particular, but will no doubt be punting a host of 100/1+ shots given the format.

Any fancies from those who watch regularly and know the up-and-coming youngsters who will take the cash/ranking points on offer more seriously than others?

Awesome, good work.

A couple of times in Jan i attempted to jog round the 5k with the dog, and then play 80 minutes of rugby in the afternoon. Unfortunately i've realised I am not (and prob never was!) fit enough to do this without letting the team down later on.

Therefore the past couple of weeks i've just been a Park Run spectator, walking the dog while the rest of the family run it.

It's definitely the diversity that makes it special. There were a couple of guys within a few seconds of each other up front duelling for a sub 19 minute 1st finisher spot, walkers at the back coming in comfortably over an hour, and then all sorts of ages, shapes, sizes, and athletic ability in between.

Anyone reading this thread who hasn't been should try to get along soon Smiley
