Dave, all the younger lads laugh at people betting to find out were they are.

Well that's because it's funny

If you do check the turn I think you have to lead the river.

check the flop, you're not getting more than 2 streets out of any worse hands which'll call and your opponents (particularly the fishier ones) can easily have like KJ/KT hands here

Assuming we're checked to this is fine to cbet. You won't find yourself getting c/raised very often on a board like this as not many hands will take this line. So you'll either mostly a) take it down or b) get to see the turn with a few possible outs + the initiative in the pot, enabling you to evaluate the turn and make a better decision there imo. My 2 cents

1630  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Live £1-2 200bb eff with an overpair, plan? on: June 17, 2011, 06:55:04 AM
Villlian is an excellent reg capable of getting creative, opening a fair % of the time in all positions today. We have a fair bit of history where he's shown previously he's particularly willing to play unconventionally vs me. I'm viewed as pretty LAG and particularly in this spot he'd think i have a wide range. He rates my game i believe, as i do his.

Eff stacks ~£400
I hold red QQ on the button.

Folds to villian in the CO who opens for £10. I think for a bit and make it £28. Blinds fold, villian calls.

Flop
I bet £42 when checked to. Villian calls.

Turn
Villian checks. Hero bets £65. Villian raises to £165. Hero?

(Modified because in hindsight turn is a super obvious bet)

Ffs George + Pleno. It's obvious that the whole point of poker is to figure out what someone elses hand is. No idea where'd you'd get that ridiculous conception that it was all about winning bb's ...jheeeez
1632  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: 150 pound max sit down on: June 15, 2011, 06:26:20 PM
I lolled pretty hard. He played his hand like a frush so his range is polarized to a frush and only ever a frush! God pads, how don't you know this!!!

Sick level
1633  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: 150 pound max sit down on: June 15, 2011, 04:47:54 PM
Also i don't think it's shady to buy in for £250 if your table is aware of it. I imagine if anyone objected you'd take it off? At my casino i'm generally fine with people putting on as much money as they like!
1634  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: 150 pound max sit down on: June 15, 2011, 04:45:01 PM
^^^ Lol.

Flatting the flop is fine imo. Turn is a bet for sure. As played think you should call the river
1635  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: He's got QQ right? on: June 15, 2011, 12:48:47 AM
f
c/f is far and away the nut-low line on the flop, would be lunacy to even consider, given how people LOVE to c-bet A high boards with preflop initiative.

You're generally wrong here. Most people won't cbet as a bluff four way on AhQh9d very often, let alone love doing it.

To me if we check and UTG bets it's a simple fold and overall a simple hand. KK/JJ won't be cbetting and AQ has now sucked out on us. So we beat nothing in your standard UTG opening range given the lack of a read telling us otherwise and easily fold AK.
