Someone mentioned a bit of this in another thread - things that we dont believe or agree with. It got me thinking about the things i dont believe in so here goes my rant
Any Hot Drink - our insides surely cant handle hot beverages, Love at first sight - it doesnt happen, its just something people say to make their r/ship feel special, People agreeing for the sake of it - totally pointless, we're not all meant to have the same opinion, Aids coming from monkeys - who had sex with a monkey?, Anyone who Minimum Raises - idiots, Ugly people falling in love - thats companionship, Pre-Nups - dont marry someone you dont trust, 24 hours in a day - there should be 26 or so, People talking about how cool they are - I'm not cool, I'm a geek. I've learnt to deal with it, now leave me alone!!

on the river you beat 44, AQ, AJ, KQ, QJ, KK, AA and a hell of a bluff with 109.
his turn bet looks very suckerish having check-called the flop. which would look like QQ. but would he really flat call preflop with QQ? is AJ sooted of spades more likely? was the turn bet a blocker as he took you for weakness having bet the flop like that? i think everyone shoves here with a made flush. as well as QQ. so i fold like a whimp.
notice he didn't go all in on the river, so a made flush or qq would be unlikely? anyway i called and he showed AQ !!!!!SHIP IT!!!!!just thought id put a winning post on here for a change, try and cause a bit of confusion You say that because he didnt go all in, you thought a made flush or QQ would be unlikely? If he had gone all in, would you have folded? Maybe i'm being extremely simple, but when i am unsure as to the standard of my opponnent and think he is playing ABC poker, i would have thought the smaller the bet, the less likely it is to be a bluff. If i interpret your comments right (and i might not have) then you are suggseting that the bigger the bet, the better you thought his hand would be?? In this case, if he had gone all in, i would have called him in a new york minute as i doubt many people would have gone all in with a hand that i cant beat.

Call everytime for me.
The way i read it, its obvious that you are scared of the flush draw. He has picked up on that and is representing it strongly. Just cant see him turning over a flush unless its combined with some sort of straight draw.

Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Odds vs Probability of it happening (8 Royal Flushes vs Lottery Win)

Suppose you are an internet pro (which you probably aren't) and four-table for 40 hours/week... that's about 8000 hands/week. If the probability of hitting a royal flush is 1/650,000, then you will hit one every 81 weeks.
This is assuming that he see's every hand to the end - an assumption that is clearly not true. Also, is this 650,000 value conditioned on the fact that he has certain cards, i.e. suited or connectable above T?

Even if there were no comebacks, I couldnt do this.
If you were at a party of a friend of a friend, you dont know the person, and you see money lying out, would you just take it? Whats the difference between what your proposing and blatant stealing?

Always been a PS man but they are really annoying me with the PS3. Between the delays, the fact your not getting the same functionality on the machine as US and Japan and the fact that it is considerably more expensive than the japanese and usa counterparts, i am finding it, morally at least, difficult to buy one.
Just wondered what people thought of the XBOX. I dont plan to take advantage of the HD facilities for the next couple of years and so i'm wondering if on that basis, the Xbox is the one for me?

Simple question - Pay 250 or so for premium xbox or 450 for the better PS3?
Any thoughts? Plan to buy one or other over next few weeks.

It definitely works. I got the guide a couple of years ago. If anyone wants a copy of it, pm me and i'll try and search my computer for it. You need to open the ps2 up and clean something in it but it definitely works once you've done it.

you are right there have been duds, such as Richard Wright, Inamoto (tho prob signed for PR than ability) amongst others but this is always going to happen when you are involved in the slightly bargain end of the top flight tansfers
Dont know if I agree with this. I think when your buying the players at the higher end of the market, its easier to buy duds, ie. overpay for players. I think when your buying relatively cheap players, if you have the patience and resources, then there is a low risk involved - especially in the eyes of football fans. One high profile £15M signing is a dud - or 5,6 or 7 small £1 and £2M pounds signings, all young developing players who never play for the first team? I think the average football fan is more bothered by the big signings than all the small ones, but all these small mistakes soon add up. And the main examples of arsenal wasting money, has all been at the upper end - Richard Wright, Jeffers and IMO Reyes. I'm not being anti wenger. I think he is a superb manager who has done amazing things for arsenal, BUT, he has been helped by the fact that he has been able to rely on one or two great, like truly great (not modern day Joey Barton is great), players to carry a team with a lot of young players which has allowed these young players to develop into much better players than if they were stuck in the chelski reserves.

Think there would be a few from Glasgow that would want to come down - some blondes and non blondes (unbelievable but some people still dont play poker?!?!.
Will speak to people over next few days and see the script. Hopefully it will be involve a couple of decent teams. Not sure how great Dolphins Giants would actually be.
