room service Friday at the encore
Order chicken strips $20
Fries $9
Sweet potato fries $9
Onion rings $9
1bottle water $?

Chicken wings turn up instead
She hates meat on the bone
I love wings
Ok we aren’t waiting 45 mins for it to be returned
I tip $10 cash
Reading the menu there’s 18% service charge
9 % tip !!!
I’ve signed for $63
Looking at bill on tv - found it by mistake!
It’s billed as $112 dollar
Fk me that’s £95
Raped again

I ordered food pool side at the Encore.  Won't be doing that again.  Very expensive, very mediocre, very long wait.  It's so hot  during wsop it isn't really too much of a problem to wander off inside for an hour and get a lot better for less, even with the general wynn-tax on property.

A pal of mine just won $2,500 on a Progressive Jackpot at a Table Game in Vegas, Palazzo I think, & he says the Venue are deducting 30% Tax.

That can't be right, can it?

Asking for a friend!!  The Tikay staking thread has finally taken off!!  Wish I'd taken a piece now Smiley

Everyone has replied "slots" but you clearly state table game.  The progressive jackpot is the only element that throws any doubt on things, if that is somehow treated differently.  At a craps table, just purely as a random example ofc, you can definitely be paid out $2500 in chips with no issue.

carhire3000 now re-routes to rentalcars.com same platform/prices.  Some of the strip locations have changed a bit, you can play around with it depending on what you want to do and find a decent price.  I've stopped renting for the duration of my trip where I was picking up at the airport and dropping off at the airport.  I seem to prefer a few drinks on the flight, a couple of days mooching around, middle stint with a car with stuff planned, last few days without.  Over time, I realised that the car spent the first few days and last few days in the carpark untouched.

Even if you are staying at Ballys, you could easily find it much cheaper to pick up at Encore (or the other way round)

Tip from experience, pick the nurse that's on the darts team.

While everyone experiences different side-effects to differing degrees, eating healthily seems to be good general advice for preventing nausea.  Preventing it is a lot better than dealing with it.

GL with everything, listen to what your body tells you it wants to do.

Don't stand too close to the ball.  (After you've hit it...)

Getting lessons is definitely the right way, make sure you don't practice faults.  The best tip for my game has always been "concentrate on swinging the club, don't try and hit the ball"  When things go wrong it is usually because I have been trying to belt the cover off it.  Practice swing, take a step forward, pretend it is another practice swing, bam!

Thanks for the link, looks very useful.  When I've been looking fairly intensely in the past (I'm talking about CC in hand, ready to snap-book when the dates align) I've certainly experienced multiple availability changes within-day.  £3 not to have to do that is fantastic.

I'll let Mark come back with the usa prices... using codes I can get the following with MGM  (Harrahs only have very short dated codes up right now)

Excalibur £363 (I paid a little extra not to get the 2 free buffets on this one  Roll Eyes  )

MGM £419

Mirage £504

All RF+tax incl

In other words, £400 seems fair if you like the hotel+location

If you want to go direct next summer, BA go from LGW and VA go from LHR, so there is that consideration if one airport is much better for you than the other.  Otherwise, somewhere like www.skyscanner.net will give you are fair guide as to prices for your intended dates.  Prices are highly variable, bordering on insane for some dates right now.  There are 'sales' currently on, not really that focussed on the summer, and there are usually Easter sales at least, if not one other sale window before.

As for hotel, it will depend on where you want to be located and what you might want to spend most of your time doing.  3 weeks is going to give you a fairly hefty hotel bill wherever you stay and saving $20 a night will add up to a decent amount.  However, the right way to do it is to stay at a much better hotel for $20 per night less than the advertised rate for the inferior hotel.  That's where this board comes in handy, plenty of people have their own fav websites to go to ~ the thing to remember is that the hotel rates aren't fixed, they are highly variable and often fluctuate wildly according to anticipated occupancy.  In other words, you can look once and see a bad price, but it doesn't mean you couldn't get a good price for the same hotel via a different route that same day, OR that the price won't be much better from the same route the following day.  It really is down to how much effort you want to put in to securing a great deal.

1. Do you want to stay near the poker action at the Rio (offstrip) Or downtown? Or on the strip?  Will you rent a car?  Usually the best way to get help from this thread is to have a search and put up the dates/prices that you have found that look reasonable to you and others will usually beat it (better hotel, same money or same hotel, better money, and sometimes better hotel for better money)

2. Direct websites are usually best if you are unsure about the length of your stay as you will have cancellation flexibility that 3rd party websites don't offer

3. Are you open to doing things like hotwire / airbnb / vrbo / homeaway / priceline

Usually each year, someone pays more to stay in Excalibur at some point than it would have been to have stayed at Bellagio.  Presumably blissfully unaware that they have done so, of course, but that is all part of doing Vegas right.
