1  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: "The Online games are not fair anymore" on: October 05, 2015, 06:18:56 AM
Yo

The changes that party are making are not about trying to attract new recreational players, I remember an article written years ago that first mentioned the words recreational and since then, everyone has jumped on this recreational bandwagon.

These changes are about getting poker back to basics  for all players and levelling the playing field for everyone before the cards are dealt and skill & luck take over - NOT trying to stop player X winning etc - in particular those players playing on tablet and mobile (the fastest growth platform) who cannot download hand histories/use HUDs need to play in the same conditions as those players using the download client.

I don't really understand why some players think its a big deal not to use a HUD, the general consensus from HUD users that I have spoken to is that its just data and doesn't give players a massive advantage, so why the big deal for some players I am not sure.

party's stance is not a war on third party software users, they are just making a few tweaks, waiting lists, hand histories become web based and also making sure players buy in/get dealt in at the cash game tables to stop all this stop start / sit out that's been going on.

No third party software is being banned or regulated by party. I don't think these changes really effect anyone except the bum hunter/seating script types who sit in/sit out/waste time/try and avoid posting a blind/watch tables for hours mining hands before they play against you - I don't think most players like playing against these players anyway and these types of players only play a few hands and sit out and are scouring all the sites for fish so they are hardly loyal customers.

I don't see how these changes effect regular, loyal players to be honest. Might also bring a few businessmen fish like me back into the game aswell. I will be opening up 4 tables while betting on the footie. I keep meaning to play on Sky for these reasons as I don't like all this stop start messing about. Sometimes you can be playing heads-up but there are actually always 6 players at the tables but they never play a hand, just keep moving around!

Cheers Rob

No problem at all with late reg , what really puts me on tilt is the moneybags who sits tanking then goes "I feel like gambling cause I can always rebuy "

I am 99.999% sure we wont be doing any re-entry tournaments the same day at DTD. I think the DTD Team all want to go in a different direction.

HI Rob

I have not read many replies on here. I wanted to write my post individually.
Id happily travel the 4hr round trip to play at DTD at least once a week. I don't. Dusk till Dawn offers the best playing experience I know. Iv got the time and money to play at least once a week but I don't. Here are my reasons......in no particular order

1) I STRONGLY disagree with the apportioning of the prizepool. I disagree with it on a few levels.
 a) I think the payout structure is too top heavy. I also believe in paying only 10% of the field. In a multi entry tournament(which is what most are) this should be 10% of unique entries.
Min cashing should start at 3 x buy-in and work upwards. For the Pokerfest Mini Live that's just finished 1st got 21000 and 9th got 1050. that's a big difference. too big.
the final 9 were playing for aprox 55k. a payout structure for the final 9 like this would have been much fairer in my opinion.
     9th 3% 8th 4% 7th 5% 6th 6% 5th 8% 4th 10% 3rd 15% 2nd 20% 1st 29%.   These are percentages of the remaining prizepool by the way
 b) If there is a tournament that costs £100 to enter and is guaranteed at 50K and you get 600runners I do not think its fair to take money out of the prizepool and allocate it as seats into your next big game. the prizepool of 60K should be paid out as cash prizes. if on the other hand you only got 400 runners and DTD has to add 10k then by all means add the 10k in as seats into your next big game. its your money and its fair enough.

the way I see it is that we pay dtd reg fee for the purpose of hosting it. dtd also benefit when we spend money in the casino area and buy food and drink. dtd provide guarantees to get more players through your door. that's the marketing strategy. any money in the prizepool generated by entries of players is THE PLAYERS MONEY, unless the tournament fails to hit guarantee.

as for the re-entry and late reg questions
I think a balanced approach works best.
1 re-entry per day. imagine travelling 2hrs and getting busted early. not much fun. having the ability to try again ONCE is fair and doesn't really give anyone with deep pockets too much of an edge.
late reg should be kept to the 1st 2hrs of play. 2hrs is more than enough lee way for motorway mishaps etc. for players who don't like to play the first few levels there are other options. buy in in advance. your stack is live from the get go. turn up anytime you want but your stack will get blinded out.

Thanks for your feedback.

Few Points.

1. Min Cash - very hard to get to min cash X 3 and pay the big 1st prize players demand, I dont know anywhere that pays min cash x 3
2. I agree hat 10% of entries is fine for a re-entry tournamant, we paid 10% of unqiue entries once and players went crazy at Simon
3. In completely disagree with you that it's not fair to include seats in prizepools, when it clearly advertised that way, players have a choice before they enter, whether we continue with that I am not sure, perhaps we should so all seats online. I can tell you players are 50:50 on this, we have ran comps without seats on prizepool and we get asked to add them back. I would say we have added £500,000 of free seats in 2015, we can GTE less with no seats, no big deal to me.
4.This myth about tournament players spending money on casino, food and drink, is a myth. Tournament players have the lowest average spend per head of all DTD customers except when we do major festivals - We lose money on every tournament players less than £330 buy-in, i.e, DTD and the Major festival players are subsiding these players. This is something I have been happy to do for years despite the moaning I get.

Is there any reason you can't purchase more than 1 dtd ticket per week? Just seems a shame

Will check this out and get back to you mate, I wasn't aware you could only purchase one Ticket per week. KTF Rob
6  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Official partypoker UK Constructive Player Feedback (to Rob) on: September 17, 2015, 11:07:43 AM
I think the thread I posted on facebook was more recreational based in feedback by the very nature that it as on facebook. I think I would have got different feedback on here for example, where the players are more experienced and work harder on their game. I didnt comment on the thread myself, just collated the feedback.

Just on one point you make, about removing HUDs killing the cash games, I think I am right that you cannot use a HUD on IPAD or Mobile, and that is where all movement of player volume is towards, especially on PokerStars. You also cant used a HUD on other sites such as Sky Poker, and Bodog in the US is the biggest UK site, and thats HUD-less. So im not sure if you're right about everyone is using HUDS.

Another point, my personal opinion is that noone is doing anything wrong using HUDs or Scripts, they are just trying to win more money and its not against the law.

Guys,

There will be a WPT UK Microsite linking off the DTD Web site up by the end of the week. That will have pretty much everything you need on there. We rubber stamped the schedule last week with WPT, just need a few days to get everything online.

8  Poker Forums / The Rail / hard work starts now....partypoker "Software Master List" on: March 02, 2015, 03:58:46 PM
Hi guys,,

Thanks for all feedback so far on Bugs, Glitches and Improvements. partypoker are very appreciate of this.

The hard work starts now, compiling a comprehensive partypoker "Software Master List" of all your feedback from here, social media and emails.

This will be submitted by me to partypoker in next 7 days. Gary Oakes will be helping me with this.

Life would be wonderful if we could wave a magic wand and fix everything, but we must prioritise each item into Red / Amber / Green.

So keep them coming!

Thanks Rob

hi gary

they closed my account, refuse to reply to emails, don't ever respond and i have money there. I've sent maybe 12 emails and they just don't reply to me.

i have 0 intention of ever playing on their site again, but i would like my money (even if i have to pay a cash out fee!) whats the best course of action.

I am going to look into this myself, as you have posted it on every thread I've read! This was before DTD but I will try my best anyway for you. I assume you will be under Patrick Leonard and were playing through pokerstategy - leave this with me for 24 hours mate. And I need well know players like you to show me some faith going forward, judge partypoker and DTD from now, that's what I asked for in my blog.

Cheers Rob

Haha ok great and I'll come to dtd and support next week <3

Pads. Resolved. I have sent you a PM. Cheers Rob

Guys,

Sorry.

Going forward the software will go down, we are going to get these nights, even apple and facebook have glitches, that's always gonna happen online, especially when new releases come out.

But hopefully this will not not happen as much on partypoker as it did on ipoker over last 6 months (which kind of wasn't anyone's fault, Genting moved to their own single wallet, and we were with Genting, but things didn't sync IT wise as well as Genting and ipoker had hoped, so DTD got dragged along into these problems aswell).

When the software does goes down, and everyone is posting everywhere "what are xxxx DTD gonna do about this", we can't come on and answer straight away, we don't know how long the software is going to be down for, could be 5 mins, could be permanent.

I railed all the sats last night, Simon wanted to post, but I told all my staff to wait till tomorrow, when the dust settles, before dealing with the players that got locked out. You do need to give us 24 hrs to respond, and we will always always be fair rather than knee jerk.

Of course, some players wont be happy unless we get a Lamborghini delivered to their house in the morning, but generally, I reckon we score pretty highly on the fairness side. I remember putting on a £20,000 freeroll one time, cause things were that bad on Boss.

Touch wood, last night was the just "DTD run bad online curse" , and party will be stable for rest of Online Day 1's.

Cheers Rob

14  Poker Forums / The Rail / Customer Experience Report on: February 18, 2015, 04:37:06 AM
Guys,

Thanks for all feedback so far.

Your posts are not in vain one bit, the process is to add constructive feedback (from blondepoker, social media, emails, face to face etc etc ) to a Customer Experience Report that summarises :

1. Bugs and glitches

2. Improvements and suggestions

3. General Feedback

Then, I meet with partypoker key decision makers in an organised and timely manner and then provide UK players with a monthly Customer Roadmap - so we all know what actions are being taken, features and improvements coming, or if partypoker just say "no",  etc.

I can't come on here and say "I will sort this by by 7:22am on 5th March" like we do for DTD, this a patience game, we are dealing with a big Plc global company but one that does want to listen to you - you all know that I will listen and represent your views, comments and suggestions so keep them coming.

Keep the faith. Things will be slow but in right direction.

Cheers Rob
