Not an angle-shoot but against the rules AND bad etiquette to openly ask a fella what he's planning on doing and then openly change your decision based on it.

I'd agree with this.

he probably has a better flush therefore fold?

I would likely make the turn slightly bigger than half pot too.

bosnian poker fun though?

Btw - reasoning for making turn bet bigger? And how much would you wanna make it here?

Don't even understand them tbh...

Nor me, they got a bit complicated & convoluted, but this one is nice & straightforward, & even thickos can give it a go.

Thanks Tikay - the first quiz i decide to give a go to you brand as one "even thickos" can try Tongue

Probs has a better flush but I flick it in.

Love games in places like this - all the more fun to be a bit edgey!

Whereabouts in Bosnia? Spent alot of time there in the 90's...

I know what you mean about it being more fun and I agree but the lack of rules just pisses me off so much, and I struggle to keep my mouth shut when I get pissed off so I get pretty close to crossing the line. Luckily, they seem to be fond of me so I still have all limbs in tact.

In Sarajevo. Whereabouts were you out here? I guess you were here during the war? What did you think of the place/area?

Swings go up and down

Continuing to grind as much as possible online, by the sounds of it there will be work for me to do at Poker Player from the start of March. Actually really enjoying the game and considering playing as a poker pro for a longer period of time. I honestly can't think of a way that the situation with my backers could improve, they spend a lot of time nurturing me giving me advice in every way possible.

Had a pretty dreadful Saturday and Sunday, losing all the 70/30s to dive into a 1k hole. Thought this was finally my time to dig in and graft, come out the other side smelling of roses and green paper. I was wrong as last night I found 4 Final Tables. Two 7th places, a 2nd and a 1st means I'm back to having a profit pile which is nice but at the same time a little disappointing I am still yet to show my backers what I'm made of. Nevertheless deece results, puts me $20k away from finding that 100k achievement on Pocket Fives.

Moaning about winning and not being able to get into a hole?! That's not first world problems - it's Arab money problems!

I think turn was me just trying to be consistent with my betting patterns throughout sessions - i.e. generally half pot bets (depending on board runouts)

Bosnia is frustrating place to play.  The play is dog awful by 83% of people. Cold calling 4 bets pre for 35-40% of stacks with J9s or A2s  etc but then won't call all there chips on flush draws when put all in on flops/turns. But to balance this there's virtually no rules enforced- people folding out of turn, betting/calling out of turn, talking when others are in hands, advising people to call etc. And when I "explain" to dealers, card room managers that this can't be done you get the answer "This is Bosnia" - i.e. there are people who play who we don't wanna upset or we might have no kneecaps in the morning. I think I argue and storm out of about 25% of sessions I play but they're too shit to stop going back lol

Playing in a 1-2 game in Bosnia where I get in  a hand 3 ways. Villain has me down as loose aggressive (in a previous session having 4bet shoved bottom pair against him believving he'd fold an overpair to an 8 high board, he happened to have flopped middle set and i showed my cards at showdown so he had to show his set) - I obviously have him down as a pretty-very tight especially post flop. Have also seen him make pre flop re raises thinking this must be a steal - it's too big to be genuine hand and he's turned over KK a couple of these times, so have not once seen him bluff in 3 poker cash sessions (as in seen his cards when/if he's been bluffing) He's also probably the only (other) competent player at the table - the rest are whales.

I have a stack of €270 he has me covered.

I straddle to 4, Villain UTG+1 makes it 11, Whale calls UTG +2 rest fold I make it up with

Flop -  - checks round

Turn -  -  I lead for €16 with a gutshot and flushdraw figuring i take it down most of the time and also build a pot to hit/steal if i do get called. Villain calls - pretty quicky. Whale folds.

River - - I lead for €31 expecting to get called by AQ/KQ and take the pot down. Villain goes into his stack and raises to €101. This is the absolute last thing I expected to happen in this hand...

Thoughts?

Good read so far and pretty decent winning tekkers in live cash it seems. Unlucky in the UKPC was funking for you along with a cpl of others on final day... big live score (non-vegas) doesn't seem to be far away.

Got a feeling 2014 could be a big poker year for you Wink

Cheers mate! Yeah so close again but so far. I hope your right about this year!

83% of the time I'm always right - unless I'm involved in a poker hand! Wink

Have you managed to find a different backer yet or are you playing off your own dime/selling action?

Lee Harling update please Tighty.

Also a round with any table if possible?

Gl to Lee, Liam, Trigg, Goulder and Spencer amongst others.

300k at 6-12k

No chance of a round until it slows down

they take about 15 minutes per round at this stage of events

then ten minutes to write up

I would rather keep the update rolling than have a big gap. Hope thats ok

Cheers Tighty. Let Lee know that although he's an absolute bag of w**k I'm funking from Bosnia.

Keep up the great updates.

Hey Mate, read through this over the last few days and feel a bit deprived as a reader that you've tailed off a little lately. Swings are part of the poker game, probably easier to manage when playing within your regular game and/or roll.

If you feel the downswing is affecting your ability at the table then a break is good (we all need one whatever "job" we're doing) but if mentally you're still all there then your next hand is your next hand, no matter when it may be.

Enjoy your honest HH analysis and thoughts/reasoning during hands (whether they turn out to be correct or not).

Hope you're back at the tables enjoying the undoubted forthcoming upswing soon -  having made most of your break i.e. Girl #69 Wink

is the guy to your right as you stand Lewis Higham/shipitonetime?

10 points to that man.

Pretty tough to get since he never had hair before and hasn't been on the UK circuit since he grew it.

Made slightly easier by saying "Mitch and Lewis chopped the rest $500 each".

Btw - well done so far and gl for the rest of the trip. Will be checking back regularly to see more run good for you guys (and hoping Keith has an upswing in his luck!).
