Never mind someone has contacted me for all of it,  so should be sorted.
47  Poker Forums / The Rail / Dollars available for no vig on: July 06, 2015, 03:27:32 AM
I sort of hijacked another thread selling dollars and that probably isn't good form so I'm making a new one. I have dollars for sale so if anyone wants to buy them for a pokerstars transfer or UK bank transfer then I will be happy to help.  I have about $100k to sell. Also if anyone has advice about which is the best USD bank to open an account with then I am all ears because anything I can't sell I'm going to use a fx service but the Rio won't send it to a third party directly. Thanks for taking the time to read my incredibly thin brag.

If anyone else needs dollars I have some I would be happy to get rid of at xe.com rate too for stars or bank transfer. Have up to $100k to offload (thin I know).

PVAS currently 1/4 in the 1k, currently on live stream, all the best mate

Thanks, came 3rd and made some obvious mistakes and ran in to some really big hands at the end. Very frustrating to lose to these specific players but can't win them all!

Virgin currently giving 20% more air miles if you buy them
so my mate purchased 100 k ? For 1300£
and booked 2 premium economy flights which were on the website for £2800
so he's well happy
There's always a way round to a deal you just gotta find it

Thanks a lot for this, it saved me about £400 for an economy return on the last minute dates I wanted!

Went to Penn and Teller years ago.  If you watch the tv shows you wont see any new tricks but I was a fan and enjoyed it anyway.  If you're not short of time it worth flicking in

I saw Penn and Teller three years ago and was impressed. I had seen at least two of their tricks from television before but the rest was very entertaining too and found them funny. Then last year I saw them again but with my girlfriend this time and the show was 100% identical in every way, down to saying the same exact words as far as I could tell, which was obviously a big downer for me, especially since they promised that their show was changing "all the time". So only see them once (wow reading this I must be stupid to see the same show twice!).

I tried with HSBC and they assured me it would be alright and I thought it would be best to be upfront about playing poker and needing to send money to/from casinos in Europe but then that counts as a "business" transaction somehow and I need to get a different sort of account where they would charge extortionate rates for everything, so if there is an easy solution with online banking too I'm all ears.

Some good advice here. I never even considered colouring the felt differently for different types of tournaments but that's a really good idea. Is there a way to do that automatically or do you have to do it when the tournament starts?

I enjoy reading these sorts of debates. It is often brought up that people selling are on "downswings" but not much is said about that. A lot of people who have been playing for a long time and have good overall lifetime graphs will use the downswing to study their games and to improve. So you can be buying in people who not only have good lifetime results including the recent downswing to sway MU down slightly (hopefully) but they may also be studying and be a better buy now than while they were at the peak of their graph.

I  sold for a few months on 2p2 for my weekly schedule and would presume I didn't make a profit while selling there but I think the above paragraph applied to me and my situation but might not for others. I would do a double take and some research on those selling for every day they play and would never invest in someone who won't sell the high value tournaments like the million and warm up with the rest of their schedule.

No they've just given a few example payouts, 100th, 50th

That makes a lot more sense although I have seen stupid things before in tournament structures and pay outs.
56  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: WSOP Main Event 2015 on: January 29, 2015, 03:16:47 PM
The pay jumps are ridiculous though. I'm sure it must be possible to flatten the jumps some because 13th to 12th is trippling your money!

You've looked at it wrong

Is it not 13-50th pay $142k? I didn't see it mentioned that there would be more pay jumps than those listed. And the 10-12th pays $550k? Maybe I'm bad at reading comprehension.

IMO anything that will cause the staked player to play in an abnormal way which increases their own EV while decreasing the backers' should be in some way included or referred to at the least. The backers need to know this can happen and IMO should have the option of getting a refund if they realise but that could be very tricky. Standard if it comes from the prizepool it should be split with the backers. If a package says nothing outside of prize money goes to the backers then the backers should work out the adjusted mark up themselves or just avoid.

Ok you got me! That is at a poker club so maybe they will speak English and it should be easy to find. My anecdotal evidence was that none of my Chinese in laws to be had ever heard of poker in China but sample size is small and I had heard of that one but do look fairly regularly to see of there is anything in China outside of Macau to travel to play, with the only other location I found being Sanya. I thought the legality was in question previously so most games would be "underground" but Google seems to be better than me.

October 15thish hopefully will be in Hong Kong potentially playing in a private 200/400euro cash game that I won't be able to go into any details about but also looking forward to seeing a friend there and seeing Asia for the first time ever. I may extend this trip via china but haven't made any concrete dates yet.

I don't post much here but read your diary here every now and again and find it interesting. Good luck in this cash game I must say!  Are you going to stay for the ACOP in Macau? The main is around a $12k buy in on the 4th of November and the HR is around $30k. I'll be there to play the ME and to be in China in general. I hope you know you need a visa to visit mainland China and usually have to have either an invitation letter or all of your flight and accommodation booked ahead of time as far as I know. Good luck!

Hey, the only tournament I heard about was the hong kong $100k or something. Planning a trip that revolves around poker in China could definitely work too! I may do it a little later in October and then go to China then, many Brits go? Assuming its really soft?

The schedule is decent for sure and will get some high stakes American players coming over more so than UK players. I am only going because I will be in China anyway. I played it two years ago and it was soft with a few clueless sat winners and rich locals but didn't go deep enough to comment further and I'm not sure how the wsopapac and ept London being on around the same time will affect numbers, although I know a couple of people going and stars have been runnings sats for a while already.

Also Macau is similar to . It isn't mainland China and British nationals don't need visas for these. I doubt there is much poker in mainland China and wouldn't be easily accessible for foreigners but I could be wrong there.
