once I went into willie hills on west nile st in glasgow to collect on a lucky 15 that had 4 winners on it. I was expected around 950 quid, but when I handed the slip over the girl behind the counter handed me 74p and a toffee wrapper.

I smiled nervously and lifted my swag before getting out of there as fast as I could. I spent it in the shop across the road on a can of irn bru

If I was unlucky enough to be confronted with this video at the time I think/hope I would, at the very least, alerted Laxie of its exsistence.

I would like to think most people would.

probably.

lets not lose sight of the fact that only 2 weeks ago, almost everyone on this forum was sending Kev messages of support, hoping he could beat his demons. Lets not beat about the bush, he was/is mentally ill. Depression manifests itself in many forms, and I understand that a longing to be loved/to be part of something is a lot to do with it. It is related to self esteem. So here's a guy, low on self esteem being made to feel part of something , a select gang if you like. It probably made him feel good. To expect someone in that position to break a confidence is a hard thing to expect.

The thing I struggle to understand is how there is so much sympathy and empathy for Kev over this matter when it's Laxie who has suffered a million times worse fate.

Some of the posts attacking her character really take my breath away in their brutality.

i havent seen many of those, only from people close to the alleged perpetrator, and a defense mechanism like that is somewhat understandable.

Im sure if you were to start a thread offering symapthy and support for Laxie, then it would get 100 replies before the end of the day. I think that most right thinking people will recoil in horror at the though of what has allegedly taken place.  However, this thread (and the one before it) is basically about Kev. I actually fail to see what relevance his supposed viewing of this video has on the alleged crime.  As others have said, our own moral compasses get screwed up from time to time, and I personally have a hard time judging anybody, based on some of the less that savoury things I have done in my past. Should I be prepared to bring them up the next time I do something a bit silly and expect to be publicly hanged for it ?

havent really said much on this subject but it is grossly unfair that Kevin has had his name mentioned and dragged through the mud in association with an alleged sexual assault when he doesnt have the opportunity to defend himself, but the other watchers and chatters about the video seem to have their anonymity intact.

I guess you would debate whether or not it had been obtained illegally, now I don't know any details about what happened and I'm not a lawyer but if Jane had any legitimate access (maybe she had her own account etc) to the PC then I imagine it would be acceptable as evidence (e.g. paedophiles discovered by computer repair shops).

Yes, there is that, plus I know little about the specifics of this instance. I don't know enough about computers either, I had no idea that my computer logged details of what had been moved, by whom, when and to where.

Generally they don't. I think it was Laz who brought that up a while back.

MSN chat logging is an optional feature too.

i dont think I did, but it is possible. I attended a conference a few years back given by west midlands police on the subject of forensic computing, and if the general public knew what was possible , then they would never touch a computer again.

btw, for all the wannabee detectives, you need to familiarise yourself with the police and criminal evidence act (PACE) of 1984, regarding the collection and use of evidence.

as long as you go into lease deal knowing that you are not buying the car - you are basically just renting it over a long term, and that at the end of it you will have nothing to show for your money. think of it a bit like renting vs buying a house.

Not strictly true, a house will generally go upp in value where as a car will have very little value after a few years.

My next car (well van) will be leased.  I paid £10k for a Vectra four years ago and now it's worth approx £2k if I'm lucky.   It wouldn't have cost me that much more to lease a new car and would save me the hassle of trying to sell a car when I'm after a new one.

of course you are right, but a small point worth noting, is that that the best deals on lease cars is often those cars which have a high residual value, as there is more money left at the back end to play with.

you need to do your numbers very carefully, as they can be wildly different for each car.
